About Diversity Counseling LLC – Cranston
Diversity Counseling LLC operates from 1020 Park Avenue in Cranston. The site sits in Providence County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include East Providence, Providence and Warwick. Rhode Island draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.
Outpatient care is delivered here, alongside telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Treatment Services at Diversity Counseling LLC
Outpatient care runs to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen.

Diversity Counseling LLC Address, Location and Contact Information
The address is 1020 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI 02910, in Providence County. The catchment reaches East Providence, Providence and Warwick. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity.

Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

I’ve had such great experiences with Diversity Counseling. I’ve gone back to therapy with them twice, and both times I was able to get in quickly and was matched with the perfect counselor for me at that time in my… life. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone. They really take the time to find the right fit for each person.
When I came to diversify counseling I didn’t know the where or why some of my anger and frustration was coming from. With the help from Nissa I was able to not only identify the where’s and why’s but I have developed… the the skills to respond vs react and to mend some damaged relationships. Thank to all involved in my journey. I cannot leave out Jose Cruz the owner and founder of Diversify Counseling!
I’ve had a really positive experience with this office. Nisa and the staff is friendly and welcoming. My therapist Michael Davis is understanding, patient, and makes me feel comfortable talking about things at my own… pace. Definitely a great place if you’re looking for support.
My experience was great and they got me through a tough time
I had a really positive experience with Diversity Counseling in Cranston, Rhode Island. Going through a divorce was one of the most challenging times in my life, but Michael provided thoughtful, practical advice that… truly helped me navigate the emotional ups and downs. He was patient, understanding, and offered guidance that I could actually apply in my daily life. I also want to mention how wonderful the front desk staff is—they were always friendly, professional, and very accommodating when it came to scheduling and any questions I had. That level of care made the whole experience even better. I’m very grateful for the support I received here and would highly recommend Diversity Counseling to anyone going through a difficult transition.
3 stars because Annie was the best therapist I’ve ever had, unfortunately she left and I am starting with a new therapist. I docked 2 stars bc whoever handles the admin/front office messages has annoyed me to the point… where I feel like I need another session. The first incident back in December I let go, but now they just pissed me off again. In December I kindly asked to cancel my appt because I was extremely sick with the flu and they just kept reiterating that it’s important for me to show up to my appointment bc Annie was going on vacation and they said “we are more concerned that you are going 6 weeks between appointments.” Like ok my concern is MY health, if I wasn’t dying sick I would have gone. My attendance in your records speaks for itself. Then I wanted to confirm if I was going to be charged and they responded with “I already told you, you aren’t being charged.” She never actually confirmed anything so I wanted to confirm again, and her answer was rude. Today, I am upset because I asked to be seen biweekly with my new therapist, as I was seeing Annie biweekly just a couple months ago. I expressed that with my new insurance I cannot afford to pay every single week. They stated that “session frequency is determined based on clinical recommendation. Since you’ve recently resumed services, it may be best to continue with weekly sessions for a little while.” I let them know I literally just saw Annie not too long ago and she was the one who recommended biweekly. For me, therapy is MY choice. I don’t like how they make me feel like they are dictating what I can and cannot do. Also, if a client is telling you they cannot afford something, to push more services on them is crazy unless y’all would like to pay for my copay out of your pocket.
Once found out I had Cigna insurance, the person hung up immediately after saying they would send a link with practices who does accept Cigna. Seems pretty reasonable, but this was after several text messages over a two… week time span and always urging to do a phone screening. Why not just put this into a text screening of accepted insurances? Would have saved both parties a ton of time. And they never sent links to practices that do accept Cigna. Never even offered up rates without insurance, frankly if you have Cigna stay away, this practice doesn't want your business.
Since I began my sessions with my counselor J. Matos in February of this year, my life has changed in such a beautiful way. She has a very special way of listening, understanding, and guiding with so much empathy and… patience that I always feel comfortable and supported. Beyond her professionalism, she radiates a warmth that has given me strength and clarity during important moments. What I love the most is being able to sit in her office and just pour out everything I carry inside, without feeling judged or guilty. Thanks to her support, I have grown, feel more confident, and now have new tools to face life. I am truly grateful for everything she has contributed to my journey and for the incredibly positive impact she has had on me and my family.
Based on my experience,Johanny Matos is super good, patient, listens to you, and gives you techniques to help you develop properly. I love being able to delegate and knowing that someone else is listening without… judgment! Thank you so much for your good work!
One of the best decisions I've ever made was to start therapy, and even better, to find a behavioral therapist like Jhanny Matos Ciprian. God bless her; she's one of the best therapists I've ever had, and I've grown so… much thanks to her.
Nurse Annie and therapist Vilinda are awesome! This is my third appointment and both of them make me feel very comfortable and supported through this difficult time. A weight is starting to lift off my chest!
Desiree is my daughter’s therapist and my daughter says she is very kind and funny, understanding, doesn’t make you feel bad about your actions and the things you express to her. She gives great guidance and is easy to… talk to. As a mother, I’d say she is a great match for my daughter, she is excellent with teens and is great at what she does. I highly recommend her!
Terrible telehealth policy, if you aren’t able to sign onto doxy with video it’s considered a missed appointment with the $100 fee. They really need to work on how they accommodate patients.
Ryan is such an amazing counselor!!! He’s been helping me a lot thru a dark period in my life. He’s so down to earth and shows that he truly does care about his patients. I don’t know where I’d be today if I hadn’t… started meeting with him. I highly recommend the counselors at Diversity!!!!!
Amazing team, I'm always looking forward to talking to Meg. Always makes me feel heard and seen. Truly the best decision I've made for my mental health.
I worked with the owner of Diversity Counseling Jose Rodriguez in 2022 before the practice was established. After spending some time away from therapy I decided to come back in the summer of 2023 and found that Jose had… not only started the practice he told me he would, but had an entire team of like minded therapists who shared his vision and dedication to therapy. Despite having not worked with him in over a year, he remembered enough about me to know the perfect therapist on his team that he could pair me with. I’ve been working with Ve-Linda Silva for a year and a half and our sessions are always a breath of fresh air. I leave constantly thinking about the little things I can do to improve in the key aspects of my life that need improvement. She not only is empathetic and allows me to open up without judgement, but she holds me accountable and is always honest with me. Our sessions have always had variety as she’s found creative exercises and tasks to keep me engaged in achieving my goals. Her insights are always valuable, and given with my best interest in mind. She is the embodiment of what a therapist is supposed to be, and I cannot recommend her enough.
Caring counselors and staff, smooth transition for new clients and appointment reminders are helpful. Highly recommend Megan Allaire.
I have been going to Diversity Counseling since October 2023 and have had nothing but an incredible experience. I was scheduled for an appointment less than 48 hours from when I first reached out and they had even… offered for me to come in the same day that I contacted them. The admin team was incredibly understanding and friendly and made me feel reassured when I was nervous to start. My original counselor moved onto a job shortly after I started therapy at Diversity, and I was matched with Megan Allaire. Megan has been nothing but amazing. She is professional, friendly, and relatable. I have walked into her office on the brink of tears and left laughing. She is truly my biggest supporter and without her, I don’t know what I would do! I recommend Diversity Counseling to everyone I know that is seeking a change in therapist or wanting to try therapy for the first time. I have seen more therapists than I can count throughout my lifetime who did not impact me how Megan has in our short time working together. I could go on for ages about how grateful I am to have chosen this practice for my therapy needs! Don’t hesitate to call them if you’re reading this looking to start therapy. You will be in good hands 🫶🏻
The process to receive help is simple. There are forms to fill out but it is made easy. The staff is amazingly helpful but more importantly friendly. Ryan Asadorian, my therapist, was reassuring in my first session. I… felt extremely comfortable and I am excited to start my journey.
Excellent!!!
If you or a family member is in need of counseling services, I highly recommend Diversity Counseling. From the moment you enter the building you will sense that the atmosphere is extremely peaceful which in turn allows… for anyone facing the anxiety that proceeds counseling to feel a sense of peace. As a parent I have seen my children begin to make a turn around in life. I am so thankful for the services that my family has received. They receive a 5 star review from me because that’s the most that can be given on this survey, they would have received a 10 star review of the option was available.
The therapists at Diversity Counseling LLC are highly professional and knowledgeable. They bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their practice. I was particularly impressed with their ability to listen… attentively and provide insightful guidance tailored to my specific needs. Take Care would most definitely recommend!
I cannot recommend Jose enough! He has an incredible ability to listen attentively and provide insightful feedback that truly resonates. If you are looking for a counselor who is not only highly skilled but also deeply… caring and dedicated, you have found the right place. I am grateful for the services of Diversity Counseling!
My therapist, Ve-Linda Silva has been absolutely wonderful, aiding me through numerous challenging situations. Her compassionate approach created a safe space for me to openly discuss my struggles, offering insightful… guidance and practical coping strategies. Her support extended beyond our sessions, providing resources for continued progress. Ve-Linda has had a profound impact on my life, helping me achieve personal growth I never thought possible. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking compassionate and effective therapy. The office in general seems to carefully curate the therapists they chose to hire. I have recommended many friends and family to this office and not only do they love the therapist they're placed with, but they are still in therapy with them to this day.
I’ve been going here for quite some time and I have only positive things to say about all their staff. Every time I walk through the door I am always greeted by a staff member as well as when I leave. Being a client for… Ve-Linda has also helped me in tremendous amount of ways. My treatment plan is always being updated consistently to reflect my progress and evolving needs, which is very much appreciated. She is great at communicating with me and doesn’t make therapy seem boring and sad which I struggled with in the past with other therapists. I highly recommend Ve-Linda as well as diversity as a whole because they have truly went above and beyond for me and made me feel like a priority.
As a therapist myself it can be difficult to find and trust care, whether it be for my own mental wellness, or when referring personal contacts or clients- but Diversity has been top notch! This speaks volumes to their… professionalism and dedication to mental health and wellness. Diversity Counseling is highly recommended, from the CEO and founder, to the intake and administration, and of course the empathetic and knowledgable clinicians. *****
In a desperate search to find a counselor to create a referral to a major dual diagnosis drug treatment center, Diversity Counseling went over and above my expectations to get the job done. I wasn't even a current… patient but Jose Cruz and Micheal Davis recognized my pain and and completed an entire referral including a psychosocial evaluation. Within hours of contacting them. I am so greatful to the team at Diversity Counseling. Kindly Jeff
My son is almost 15 years old I thought he would give me a hard time about going to therapy but he loves Megan his counselor! It's right around the corner from my house so convenient and he communicates well with her… such a blessing!!
