About VICTA – Providence

VICTA operates from 110 Elmwood Avenue in Providence. The site sits in Providence County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Central Falls, Cranston and East Providence. Rhode Island draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.

Detox, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment, an opioid treatment program, telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Key Facility Details

Detox and Rehab Services at VICTA

Withdrawal management covers alcohol, benzodiazepine, cocaine, methamphetamine and opioid dependence and is handled on site rather than referred elsewhere. Stepping down into continuing care happens with the same team, so there is no second intake to sit through. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Buprenorphine, methadone and naltrexone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers.

I truly believe they are one of the best clinics they have really worked hard on trying to get me clean, even when I keep using they didn’t give up on me and didn’t punish me for it instead keep encouraging me and… telling me how strong I am for keep trying,Garrett was the best worker I ever had I felt awful how much time he put into me also lent me his book Matt Perry I’m planning on going back this morning and for once not embarrassed to sign up for the 3rd time they all truly care and you’ll love the dosing women I know I do thank you Victa

The most unprofessional recovery addiction place I have ever been too. Been clean for eight years missed an appt due to a death in the family and they refused to help me told me I couldn’t get meds. They then made me go… to hotline and set me an appt for what they swore up and down seven times from their clinical director it would be a phone meeting. Thursday came he never wrote it as a phone appt and I went into withdrawals for the second week. That’s when I withdrew from the program. Go to lifespan recovery center. They will test you like a human being. I hope the clinical director reads this I even left him a call message asking to call back since he made the mistake. He didn’t even have the professionalism to return my call . Absolutely garbage and horrible bedside manner . They only care about your health insurance paying them .

Since becoming a client at VICTA I'm so grateful for the caring n nurturing staff. They Get It! They're not about just dose n go. Tho you can get that too if that's how you like to roll. I guess what I'm trying to say… is that no matter where you're at in your recovery they're there to provide whatever level of care you need. Or they'll refer you to whatever agency is able to provide you with what's necessary if you need inpatient care. I just really like the way they run there establishment

Horrible. They will mix up your court ordered urine screen with someone else's and take no blame. They used to not label the cups til I complained to supervisor. Said I had dirty urine when in fact I been clean. Test… was tampered with.

I've had a few instances there I could've deducted stars for but there's also instances I've had that they've helped tremendously. Recovery is what you make it, if you want it bad enough you'll realize Victa is there… help. What a lot of people don't like, in my opinion, is they hold you accountable for actions. But all in all, I def would recommend anyone that is or knows someone, that's struggling with addiction to give them a call... It could change ur life!

Great services, caring doctors and friendly staff. Doctor Lisa helps me during all hours of the day whenever I needed her help as I am going through a new program. Will from the night IOP is a great group leader. He… allows us to talk about our issues and hear what others are going through, as well. Will is very good at having us say positive affirmations as we talk about our struggles and ourselves. Every need is being met here, currently. If you’re honest about your problems and seriously want help, this place is it. It is clean and safe in the building, as well as a much better environment than any other place in all of Providence and it’s suburbs. I have tried a few others but hated them because of loiterers harassing me, seeing drug deals left and right, hour long lines, and an overly complicated take-home system that is not in favor of patients. VICTA has shown me that those past annoyances were not a given for all clinics. Some clinics actually don’t want to have to make you come in all the time and inconvenience you. What a novel idea, right? A clinic can be a friendly, safe, drug-free and harassment-free place. It can also be a place where you’re treated as more than just a number and your needs are not falling on deaf ears. Thanks to their comprehensive approach to recovery, VICTA will help you live a happy, healthy life that you can learn to be grateful for.

Frustrating! It's almost like they want you to relapse. If you can get Dr. Karen your lucky and Kevin is a really good counsellor. Otherwise be careful and take it slow. Once your medicated it's really hard to keep your… medicine. Narcaccism is alive and well at Victa.
