I was told that I needed a new referral when I’m just switching from atrium in Concord to atrium and Davidson. She had an attitude and this is at 7:38 this morning and she also hung up on me and I will never spend my… money with this company again that goes I won’t go to the hospital. I won’t go anywhere cause this obviously is the type of people that you put in with your business. I’m good and you check who hung up on me. I hope you get the karma that you deserve.
I'm just getting to know the place
I have been with my counselor for a while. When she moved to another location. I went with her. Instead of a 15 min drive. It's could be 30 min. to hour depending on traffic. She is worth it.
This place needs to be permanently shut down and their entire staff needs to be barred from ever working in healthcare again. I saw Meghan Noble for a will and then I guess she disappeared? I tried to make an… appointment one day and they said she was gone. No warning, nothing. Cool. So they set me up with a MALE provider without telling me he was man. They are fully aware I can only be placed with female providers. Now, they told me I need to make an appointment with Dr. Walson before I can get my next medication refill. If I don't get my medicine, I can have life-threatening withdrawals. They are FULLY AWARE of this. I called to make an appointment and "suddenly" Dr. Walson isn't accepting new patients. Well, I told the girl on the phone that I received a message from them specifically telling me to make an appointment with her, and that if I didn't get my medication, they would be held liable. SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!! This is a disgusting way for a MENTAL HEALTH DOCTORS OFFICE to act. You have patients who are mental struggling and you treat them like this? I know I'm not the only one who has been treated so horribly by this place.
I do virtual visits with an amazing therapust
Absolutely perfect!! The advice was amazing and perfectly.
Atrium Health Behavioral Health went above and beyond my expectations. From the caring staff to the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility, everything reflected professionalism and compassion. There were plenty of… activities and opportunities for people of all ages, and I always felt respected, heard, and supported. What stood out most was the genuine concern the staff showed for each person. The environment felt safe, welcoming, and focused on healing. The food was also excellent, and they were accommodating of my dietary needs as I begin my journey as a vegetarian. If I ever face another mental health crisis, this is an organization I would trust with my life. I am truly grateful for the care and support I received. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great place and friendly people
I was a patient at Davidson Behavioral for nearly three years. During that time, I trusted my provider and believed I was receiving appropriate care. However, after making a single comment during an appointment, Dr.… Christopher Fox initiated an involuntary psychiatric admission. Security was called, and I was escorted out with physical contact involved, which was distressing and unexpected. I was not prepared for that level of intervention. I was told Dr. Fox would follow up and check on me, but I did not receive any visit, call, or communication after my admission or discharge. The inpatient unit I was placed in did not feel appropriate for my situation, and the experience was overwhelming. I was prescribed multiple medications and felt emotionally numb for much of my stay. This experience significantly impacted my trust in the practice. I cannot return after what happened. I encourage others to ask detailed questions about policies regarding involuntary hospitalization so they fully understand how situations may be handled.
Dr Dodds is amazing!!
Penny Hennessee is genuinely one of the kindest provider's I've seen. This isn't the first time I've seen her (but she was great then, too!), but I had to leave a review for this. I have PTSD that happens to be in the… same general area as what I had come in for, which is something I'd mentioned in passing in a message through the patient portal half a year prior. During the visit, she made a conscious effort to change her wording to avoid any possible triggers, which surprised me and showed me she was paying attention to my history AND remembered or reread that message before my same-day visit! She was so helpful and attentive and really made me feel heard and calmed my nerves. :) Much appreciated!
The appointment was great. I felt heard and help was provided. Very professional, and polite.
Always Excellent
Apparently this place is for people who have been admitted. Literally turned around and was told to seek help at a hospital for a mental evaluation. While on the phone with a rep about an evaluation the phone call was… disconnected.
I'm finally ok after a couple months to leave this review. I would give it less if I could. I went into this facility at the most vulnerable point of my life and they made me 10 times worse. Absolute worst staff and… medical attention ever. I am legitimately sad and traumatized by my experience there. They broadcast themselves as a mental health facility, however, its more like a prison with awful staff that view you as less than human. I experienced the staff laughing at people going through severe trauma, I was HELD down to get my blood drawn when I have a severe phobia to intervienious needles to the point I was crying my eyes out at 6 am. I grabbed the nurses coat out of just a reaction to my trauma and she told me "not to touch her" like I was trash. That's what you are to them. Trash. I had EXTREMELY high blood pressure. One of the staff faked my blood pressure. The other nurse told me "you just have anxiety, you need to calm down. " I couldn't sleep I was told it couldn't sleep on the floor when I had a SEVERE allergy to the bedsheets. I was so red and my skin was turning hard. I wasnt even allowed a benadryl until I saw a doctor days later and he finally listened to me. This IS NOT A MENTAL HEALTH FACILTY. I would never put a loved one through this trauma. I came out shaken so bad it took me months to recover. I have several people I made contact with and we all feel the same. I know this job is taxing, but find another profession if you don't care ab your patients. Horrible experience I'll always have ptsd about.
Dr. Thommen does a great service working with her patients. She has helped manage my depression and stay balanced.
Dr Thommen is always very attentive to my concerns and does a thorough job of managing my treatment. Thank you for many years of overseeing my care. Best, Jennifer Jarrett
I had a genuinely great experience here. I was transferred from Atrium Health Cabarrus Behavioral Health Holding. While it was nice there, I was still terrified of going to a behavioral health hospital. When I got here,… I was quite surprised to find out that I was going to have my own room, and my own bathroom. It was really scary to me to start, but knowing I would be able to have my own space made it much less frightening. All of the nurses and techs there are very nice, and they made me feel welcomed and safe. The first couple of days were rough, just because I was isolating myself out of fear, but after that, I had so much fun. The groups are very helpful, recreational therapy was really fun and comforting, the food was warm and good, and the staff really wanted to help me. I was here because of a near suicide attempt and severe suicidal ideation, voluntarily. I had spiraled because my psychiatrist refused to change my medications, even though they weren't helping me. Here, they made some adjustments, and I'm already feeling good, which is something I've never felt. I was here for six days, and in those six days, I began to feel safe with myself again, something I haven't experienced much in my eighteen years of living. I made genuine friends here, and I finally feel genuinely happy. I still have some problems to work through, of course, but I'm mentally in a place where I can be safe enough alone to work on those in therapy. Atrium Health Behavioral Health Davidson saved me from severe depression, and I couldn't be more grateful for the treatment I received whilst inpatient.
I felt very at ease with my counselor and the staff.
