Center for Discovery – San Diego Reviews and Ratings

I went to CFD last summer and it was a great experience for recovery the food prep is pretty good aswell as the staff one staff Camila was a good chef and a good person to be around either way great tips/coping skills… for the future!
cfd is a hell of a program and their system and structure actually sucks, shout out to the fire staff member Camila tho
I was recently transferred to center of discovery from Radys mbu program. After being at radys for a month and having spectacular care I was then moved to center of discovery residential del mar and received the worst… treatment. They were not kind, not welcoming, very strange staff that make you uncomfortable… I had a medical emergency my second day being there and had received not help and had to call an ambulance myself off the land line. Along with the fact that it’s disgustingly dirty. I would not recommend anyone to go there as this experience was only now 4 months ago.
NOT a slay. and i know all about slays.
Can’t acknowledge they that they did not try, but not hard enough, sacrificing other people’s/ patient’s (myself) life, recovery and journey. Put my entire life on hold because I wanted to choose life, and CFD Del Mar… simply let me down when I needed them most. Hurts
Bad. Please find a different ED treatment program, not this one.
Our daughter (D) entered this CFD residential program in the March of 2015. Under the oversight of this program, she lost sufficient weight for it to be life-threatening. Upon admission into Rady Children’s Hospital… (RCH) in early April, the attending physician told us that she couldn’t guarantee that our daughter would survive the night. It is unbelievable that this would have occurred under CFD’s ‘care.’ I would never, ever admit my loved one into this program. (Two weeks after admission to RCH, our daughter was flown by air ambulance to the ERC in Denver. She was one sick girl. We’re lucky we didn’t lose her in 2015.) There was no apology nor accountability for this dereliction of duty. We were in the thick of caring for her and didn’t take legal action against CFD. Our D still struggles with AN ~ it’s an insidious disease. What happened at CFD should have never happened. To repeat, I wouldn’t ever admit my loved one into this program.
Disgusting. Please save you child and DON'T USE THIS FACILITY. My teenage sister was admitted here for the last month. It was very detrimental to the family. It may just have been our therapist TRACY who was terrible… but I wouldn't recommend this facility to anyone after this experience. This therapist did very manipulative things during family therapy. She would tell one parent one thing and then go back on it in front of the other parent, causing tension between them (seemingly purposely, I don't know how else an intelligent individual could make these mistakes). Tracy was completely infatuated with my step-father (knowing that he was abusive to both my mother and young sister) and took his side every single time, even lying in his favor. Tracy blatantly lied about the plans for my sisters' further treatment leaving the facility. After talking to my sister's other therapists (outside of this facility), I found out that Tracy had straight out lied, saying my step-father had already signed up for family counseling and anger-management, saying that she had spoken to my sister's therapist and received confirmation about this. My sister's therapist said that she blatantly told Tracy that NOTHING had been set up, nor did he request any referral information. Tracy told my sister multiple times that she was abused because of something that she did wrong and that if she was better, her father wouldn't have hurt her. This is one of the most detrimental things to ever happen to my family and my sister left very confused. This was such a disgusting situation, especially when my family was in such a weak place. This place is disgusting!
