About CenterPointe AnchorPointe South – Lincoln
CenterPointe AnchorPointe South is the adult residential program of CenterPointe, a Lincoln non-profit that began in 1973 as Lincoln Lancaster Drug Projects and holds 501(c)(3) status. It admits men and women aged 19 and over who live with both a serious and persistent mental illness and substance dependence, treating the two together across a stay of four to six months rather than sequencing one after the other.
CenterPointe runs several programs in Lincoln, and this record covers the residential program at 2220 South 10th Street, not the organization’s Campus for Health and WellBeing at 2202 South 11th Street, which opened in 2023 a block away and answers on a different line. CenterPointe publishes no street address for the residential program itself, so the address here comes from other published records rather than from the organization.
Admission is narrower than the address suggests: applicants must live in Region V or Region II, or be Medicaid members, and must bring an evaluation completed within the past twelve months, which the admissions team reviews before a bed is offered. The site has been tobacco-free since 2014, which is worth knowing before a stay of several months. Ashley Volnek, MA, LIMHP, LADC, is vice president of residential services.

Treatment Services at CenterPointe AnchorPointe South
The program is long-term residential, individualized within a four to six month frame, and group work carries most of the clinical load: at least 42 hours of groups a week covering processing, coping skills, recovery planning, nutrition and wellness, recreation and trauma education. Motivational interviewing and dialectical behavior therapy are named as the models in use, so the week is structured rather than left to informal milieu time.
Psychiatric medication is prescribed on site by the program’s advanced practice registered nurse, which is what makes the dual focus workable: someone whose mental illness needs medication reviewed does not have to leave the program to get it. Serious mental illness and substance dependence are both conditions of entry, residents are men and women rather than a single-sex group, and Ryan Paul Carruthers, LADC, LMHP, CPSS, is chief clinical officer across the organization.
Substance dependence is required for admission, yet no individual substance is named in the published material and medication-assisted treatment is not mentioned at all, so anyone who needs buprenorphine or methadone continued should raise it before applying. Admissions run through (402) 475-8748 or ARadmit@centerpointe.org, and the evaluation requirement means a caller without a recent assessment has a step to complete first.

CenterPointe AnchorPointe South Address, Location and Contact Information
The residential program is at 2220 South 10th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68502, in Lancaster County, on a near-downtown street in the south of the city. It stands beside CenterPointe’s Campus for Health and WellBeing at 2202 South 11th Street, so a driver following signs for the campus will be in the right few blocks but not at the right door.
Walton lies 4 miles east and Nebraska City 38 miles north-east, which matters mostly for family visits across a stay of several months. Admissions take calls on (402) 475-8748 and email at ARadmit@centerpointe.org, and that admissions line is also the number published for the program itself. The whole site is tobacco-free, and no visiting hours are published, so arrange times with residential staff in advance.

How Much Does Treatment at CenterPointe AnchorPointe South Cost?
CenterPointe publishes no price for a residential bed, but it does publish an unusually full account of how care is paid for. Nebraska Medicaid is accepted through Nebraska Total Care, Molina Healthcare of Nebraska and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Nebraska; commercial insurance is billed first where someone has it; and self-pay is charged at full cost, with no published discount for paying directly.
For people with little or no coverage there are three further routes. A sliding fee scale applies at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level, monthly payment plans are offered, and federal and state behavioral health funding administered through Nebraska’s state division and its regional authorities supports places in the program. CenterPointe states that no one is turned away solely because they cannot pay.
Medicare reimburses only visits by credentialed providers such as a master’s-level social worker, advanced practice nurse or licensed mental health practitioner, so it will not cover a residential stay outright. A published figure of $550 rent plus $250 room and board belongs to a different CenterPointe program, not this one. Statewide, Nebraska private-pay residential care runs $6,000 to $25,000 a month, as context only.

CenterPointe AnchorPointe South Reviews
No one has reviewed AnchorPointe South on RehabSeekers yet. What can be checked comes from state licensing and federal provider data: licensing runs through the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, though no license number is published, and the program carries national provider identifier 1063578508. CenterPointe is a private non-profit, with its 501(c)(3) determination letter posted on its own site.
CARF holds a three-year accreditation for CenterPointe covering integrated residential treatment of adults with substance use and mental health conditions, but that entry is listed at the organization’s P Street address rather than at 2220 South 10th Street, so it should not be read as covering this program without asking. Tami Lewis-Ahrendt is president and chief executive. A first-hand review from a former resident would add a great deal here.
