About Child/Adolescent Behavioral Health Hsp – Willmar

Anyone within about 11 miles can reach it without a major journey, which takes in Kandiyohi, Spicer, Pennock and New London. This place was very helpful and controlled (more controlled than any other place I’ve been) and I really really love the staff from there they are all so kind, hard working and truly care. I still think about this place… from time to time and the staff, I hope all goes well for the future of CABHS (:

Here's abit of an overview of how CABHH is, (Past patient here!) Admission info: - You have to wear scrubs for the first 24 hours, (usually longer) then if you've been "safe" Enough you get your clothes. Extra Note:… Girls aren't allowed to wear shorts there so they don't "distract the boys" Personal Belongings: -They dont let you have anything other then ONE comfort object, (a small stuffed animal, blanket etc.) - Only extra exception is the Bible but other then that you can't have any personal books or like anything. Your stripped of everything, even your clothes for the first day or so. - Staff: - Some staff like Emma are very nice but 90% of staff are rude and disrespectful especially Brittney the red head, Jordan the therapist and Justin so make sure to avoid them as best as possible. - They like to discriminate against kids and the staff break rules constantly but overreact when kids break rules. - On your last 2 weeks your there once discharge is confirmed staff will be extra mean to you. Incidents: - CABHH is open about restraining and seculding kids but they hide the fact that they almost daily will strap kids down into a metal chair and sedate them and then they throw them into the Seculstion room and just leave them there. They hide the fact they sedate kids and that is very concerning as it is. School: - the teacher is very strict and disrespectful. If you doddle or space out in class, you get kicked out the rest of the day. - They just shove headphones and a iPad towards you and then the teacher sits there lazy when you listen to videos that make no sense and answer questions that the teacher allows you to cheat on sense the answer is right there on the display pictures. - Last day or two of school you get some snacks. (My experience was rootbear float, dounts and gummy bears) Food: - Majorly of the time the food is disgusting, as it is it's no secret there that this food was sent from the jail. Whitch explains the grossness. - No pork related items because of some ppls religion. - Sometimes the food is good, but not a lot - Monday you get a lot of extra food. (A snack at good morning group, 4-6 snacks at culture club and then + your normal 2 snacks and at bingo you get popcorn and chips and Gatorade) - You can't save/share food unfortunately. - They have pizza and sundaes every month. Treatment Team: - treatment plan meetings are a week after admission then every other week after that, you'll be able to go to the treatment meetings but they say a lot of bad stuff about you there, it's not for the weak trust me. - Your in paient team makes recommendations that get the county more money, not about what is best for you. You can voice your opinion but they don't care. - If you get Jordan as a therapist, oof. I'm so sorry. She's so rude. PHONE CALLS: -you can only make phone calls during personal times,(3 on the weekday per day, 2 on the weekend per day, and 4 on Wednesdays but sometimes staff won't let you call if they "don't feel like it") - phone calls are limited to only 10mins unfortunately - The staff note every call and try to find some excuse to make them supervised whitch is on speaker because staff are board and want to ease drop. Extra: - They DO have favorites but won't admit it - They change the seating chart every month Hope this all was helpful! Overall would not rate sending your child here because there is a lot of bad things that happened there tho.
