1 star
My child's therapist was kind but we felt Like sessions were unproductive and more like he was a number, not a patient. and too much textbook and not enough actual experience with special needs children. Most of our… visits were paperwork and not actually connecting or involving the child who needed services. we also had testing done for ASD and the evaluator CMH used was horrible. we told them of so many concerns (our oldest is on the spectrum and it was obvious this child is as well) and despite many markers for ASD, they said he did not have Autism because he "used his imagination." and they said he only had ADHD. we found a new provider and Therapist who noticed and questioned ASD before we even brought it to their attention. we were then referred to a Psychiatrist who diagnosed him with AUDHD (both Autism and ADHD.) we must learn that these can often coincide and not every child is a textbook case. My child could have gotten crucial help and intervention much earlier if they had taken the time to get to know him, instead of reading from textbooks, filling out paperwork and coming up with plans that didn't address anything. I know that CMH has nothing to do with the Evaluation but they did set that up. Maybe they have too big of case loads or maybe they are just too clinical but I was not impressed. These kid's deserve therapists that give them the time and attention they deserve.
This facility allows ethics violations with children and does not care about children's health by allowing other facilities under their supervision to violate ethics. After bringing abuse allegations they failed to… report.
I have gotten the best care. All of the therapists and doctors and social workers, and staff are amazing. They helped me get my life on track after having a series of tough events. I owe my success partially to them.… I’ve gotten compassion and understanding and the support I was missing.
Idk why the reviews are so negative. I’ve never had a bad experience with them
I’ve had amazing care here- I wouldn’t be alive without the treatment I got from here. Update: I will specify there are some great therapists here. The DBT program especially saved my butt. However, I’d never recommend… the psychologists here.
Unprofessional, rude and highly disrespectful to patients sitting in the waiting room. Overheard staff trash talking the people sitting in the lobby. Don't go here
Frankly, they blow. They don't care. They see you as mentally ill and so they think they're right and you're just a crazy person who doesn't deserve to be listened to. They will not listen to your complaints so don't… even bother and just find somewhere else to go. The front desk people are crotchety. Do yourself a huge favor and search 'medicaid Midland Mi counseling' on google and go to psychologytoday. CMH is NOT the only place that takes Medicaid so don't feel hopeless.
Everything is over video chat pretty much all the time with the Dr ...I've had no issue with most of the receptionist but some act like don't even wanna work I go bc my autistic son needs it but to be honest if there… was somewhere else I could go I would
no good
I’ve had a great experience with therapists at Midland community mental Health.
Was geting treatment here for 3 years along with my husband and stepdaughter we all were geting therpy here and they don't care about you at all my husband and stepdaughter left after one year fighting with them to get… her tested for disabilitys and they did nothing to help her then two years later I leave for I was not geting the help then just this past wendesday was in crisis mode asked for help at the hospital and they wanted to send me home when I wanted better help they did send me to saginaw meadows for mental health help but that place like this no help at all they can S and D and I wouldn't care at all. Found a better place then here and better med doctor as well that will give me the help I need!
I've had some friendly therapists here. However, they don't seem to really care about your health. You're a paycheck to them. I've tried getting into a more intensive partial hospitalization program (PHP) treatment but… have been denied twice through CMH because they feel they make decisions for the patient as opposed to listening to the patient's needs. I need the PHP to learn to better control my coping skills. This is a 5 days a week program. However CMH seems to believe that an hour therapy session once a week will magically make me better. They do not, and will not, listen to my needs to better improve my mental health.
My ADHD is out-of-control and my BPD is piggy backing I have so much going on that I can’t keep track of these appointments and then I get removed and have to reapply which takes another like 30 to 60 days I’ve been… repeating this process for almost 10 years nothings getting done and I feel completely numb
They can S a D, and they don't take your concerns seriously.
I was in distress and they were helpful hence 2 stars but they constantly called me after I called back and told them stop calling. I would recommend talking to a friend first.
The staff here are very disrespectful and not helpful.
I'm writing this review on behalf of my sister who has been damaged by the care from CMH over the past 6 months. She has been over medicated against her wishes and court ordered to remain under their care even though… genetic testing has confirmed she has an intolerance to the medications they have put her on. Even though the medications have been discontinued by attending physicians, they continue to administer them without consulting DPOA. Petitions have been filed and ordered without notifying interested parties.
I had to cancel because I had no ride but it has taken switching case workers and 30 days and I finally got my first appointment. They are worthless... my depression is out of control and have done other things. It… should not take this long
