If I could do zero stars I would. I was a resident of D&V, take these notes into consideration. I was in house 1 at first due to licensing issues I wasn't explained even after requesting an explanation. (I was told I… would be in house 2 as it's a transgender house) Within me being in house 1 I was threatened almost daily by staff and residents. There are many things about this whole program that's very unprofessional. Staff.A was caught stealing money from the company. Staff.B fought me (at the time a 17 year old fresh out of being in the ER BH for 3 months) physically and verbally. Staff.C fought me over a request to collect my own clothes from the washers even after explaining I had trauma with people messing with my belongings(this was about the 4th time I had to tell this information to staff even with its importance), attempting to hit me with her car. Staff.D (who is the ceos daughter for context) threatened to take everything out of my room due to a misunderstanding even after I apologized and fixed said issue. House 1 is very unkept, a weed leave was craved into my door(it was there from a previous resident) there are whole in the walls just barely covered with drywall tape and putty. There where personal items left behind that were shoved in the base of my dresser from previous clients. The night staff consist of older woman who watch TV on full volume. House 2 was well kept though that makes sense because it have only been open for about a year and a half as of this review. But the staff were poorly managed and would do what they want when they wanted. We had barely any funding for house 2 which meant we didn't have adequate healthy or genuinely just not 3 boxes of microwave popcorn no one would eat but me. There was obvious favoritism and picking sides. I understand everyone has their right to a belief that fits them. But. From personal experience the owner isn't very mindful of religious freedom. Neither are most of the staff. I was forced to sit in a church for 9 hours for a day because the owner didn't think to employ staff for spring break. I was told I would be dropped off at said church the next day even after having planned a home visit for that day weeks ahead. They say you're allowed a mp3 player for music. They gave me my mp3 then another resident destroyed it. When I asked for a replacement as I'm not the one who broke it. The owner then proceeded to tell me about a rule change that was not written anywhere. They promise 16+ residents to help them with getting a job but then told me I had to earn the right to work. They promise freedom but you have to ask to open fridges, drawers, cabinet, and you have to to ask to enter door ways. (Ex. If You need to use the bathroom, you must ask to leave your room and enter the bathroom) I was kicked out after a altercation with staff.C. 70% of my personal items are missing. My family tried calling the owner and she wouldn't answer. She didn't even contact my parents until they were a week away from thrifting all of my belongings.(including my comfort item, a stuffed animal I've had since I was 5) Staff and residents mocked me when I was visibly upset due to another residents birthday. I wasn't saying anything near said resident about why I was slightly sad. But all the info from my conversation with staff about the matter somehow made it's way to the residents and I was made fun of and called petty for being a bit sad seeing someone get a whole living room full of gifts when I had just spent my last birthday locked in a ER room. I understand that this is a residential lvl 3 group home but there are some ways to make life easier for the people you're caring for. Forcing someone to stay in there room 24 hours if they cuss is not helping. I hope for this place to learn from 2024.
