The provision listed at Evergreen Treatment Center – Paramus is detox, residential treatment and intensive outpatient. Supervised withdrawal comes first, with the greatest danger in the opening seventy-two hours. Sessions follow a set timetable while people keep living at home. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.
Combined treatment is not recorded, which is worth checking before committing. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. Ask directly about session times and frequency, as those details decide whether someone can realistically attend.

Evergreen Treatment Center – Paramus Address, Location and Contact Information
The facility address is 230 East Ridgewood Avenue, Paramus, New Jersey, 7652. Paramus sits in Bergen County. The catchment reaches beyond the city itself. Public transport, parking and the length of the journey all affect whether someone completes a course of treatment, and they are worth settling before the first appointment rather than after.
It is worth calling first to confirm access, parking and the shape of a first visit. Where travel is difficult, ask whether an initial appointment can be held remotely. Admissions lines are frequently busiest early in the week, which is worth knowing if the first attempt fails.

My Experience at a Psychiatric Hospital August 2026 In my experience, this psychiatric hospital felt less like a place for mental health treatment and more like a prison disguised as a hospital. I was admitted because… of depression and stayed for seven days. During that time, several nurses in Psychiatric Unit A1 treated me disrespectfully, yelled at me without reason, and even threw my food toward me. The facilities were poorly maintained, extremely cold, and the showers and bathrooms required you to repeatedly press a button every few seconds. In my room, I found a message written by a previous patient saying, “This place is making me sicker.” The food was unpleasant, served in very small portions, and looked like prison food. Many patients barely ate and threw their meals away. I also observed patients being heavily medicated and sleeping for most of the day. Nurses closely followed patients throughout the unit, even to the bathroom, while documenting negative comments about them. During the night, staff would open patients’ doors and shine flashlights into their faces, repeatedly disturbing their sleep. I felt I was also treated unfairly regarding outdoor privileges. Despite maintaining good behavior, keeping things clean, and participating in group activities, I was repeatedly denied the opportunity to go outside for sunlight while other patients were allowed to do so. Another major concern was that male and female patients were housed in the same area. I witnessed patients kissing and entering each other’s rooms without staff intervening. I also saw a female patient under 21 being repeatedly approached by a male patient around 60 years old who asked for her phone number and personal information. One nurse in particular, named Norma, repeatedly treated me in a rude and disrespectful manner. When I asked for her last name, she refused and eventually shut the door in my face, telling me she would not give it to me. Overall, this was an extremely distressing experience. I went there seeking help for my depression but left feeling humiliated, stressed, and without the dignity and compassion that patients in a psychiatric facility deserve. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend researching other options before sending a loved one to this facility.
Went to the ER, once the paperwork was completed, I was brought right in. NO WAIT TIME! I cannot emphasize enough the professional and compassionate care I received from, the Doctor, Nurses, Medical Techs, Security Team… as well as the custodial staff. 5 ⭐ for this Medical Center. Thank you for helping me in my time of need.
On August 21 2026 I had an Endoscopy procedure at your facility Medical Center New Bridge.I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr.Sorathia,Dr.Nadeu and Carla for they very well-done work.At the same time, I… express my gratitude to the entire team who prepared me for this procedure: Cathy,Ciara,Mave Aiye and Shengping RN.I appreciate their work and very human approach, they are very kind people.I recommend your clinic to anyone who need quality healthcare service.
I had a terrible experience today. I went to Bergen New Bridge Medical Center today because my teenage son urgently needed a ultrasound. The website says the place accepts walk ins. The woman at the front desk was… utterly confused. She took 45mins to enter our information in the system, asked all sorts of invasive questions ( i.e. what was my son's sexual orientation). When I asked how long the wait would be, she said she didnt think long and then asked what time was my appointment. I told her...I was a walk in. The whole experience was unsettling. I took my son and left. Didn't even have the procedure done. Listen to the reviews and trust your gut. Take your loved one someplace else
For almost 2 years I’ve been trying to reach the Nurse station to speak with my parent that is in long term care. I’ve been out the country and haven’t been able to get any information regarding him. Sucks I have to get… on a plane and put eyes on him.
Recently had to take my teenager and the inpatient stay was terrible. It’s like prison. No communication with parents. They didn’t care if child was upset or stressed. Medication changed and barely discussed a discharge… there was just some random nurse that came to give you paperwork to sign so you’re weren’t allowed to get any information. I left a message for the psychiatrist to ask about the medication change and never got a call back It was definitely the worst experience of our life. I would never recommend it to anybody.
Extremely dangerous and abusive facility. In my times there have seen them repeatedly violate patient's rights both my own and others, including minor children as young as 7 or 8 y.o. No empathy and brazen illegal and… immoral activity by staff whenever they feel they can get away with it (like no one healthy and adult is advocating for a patient with either mental health issues or a serious medical issue that can affect their ability to communicate due to pain or injury). They smile and laugh when they abuse you and you don't even have to be there for mental health problems (though that is the most dangerous for you as a patient -- choose ANYWHERE else) for them to force powerful tranquilizers in your body for an offense as "severe" as crying out of pain or fear which is perfectly normal when you are sick or in pain or in a hostile medical environment. If you are an adult responsible for a minor child in a mental health crisis I am begging you to protect your child and take them to a different facility if you must take them to one. They will abuse your child and charge like crazy for it. Believe the bad reviews, please. Our communities deserve so much better.
I called the access department to get some information about the services the hospital offers especially for a friend of mine who has been having some psych issues recently. I was connected with a Brian C, he was… extremely helpful, knowledgeable, very kind, and i informed my friend to ask for him specifically for assistance.
absolutely horrible looks and felt like a prison or psychiatric institution!! Stafford rude using cell phones openly dirty linen. Out front a cigarette factory. I literally walked out!! Thanks but no thanks
My mom is a resident at 11-5. She has been there for over five months now. We were very apprehensive in admitting her as she never stayed away from home. But to our pleasant surprise she loved the care and the staff.… Last weekend she turned 95 years old and we wanted to celebrate the occasion. The whole care plan team including the Nurse Manager, social worker, recreation therapist, nurses, and everyone helped us to celebrate her birthday. It was an awesome experience and every staff deserves praise for the care and compassion they provide to our mom every day. Thank you all so much 🙏
This Place is an Actual Prison they will put you on a ton of drugs/ medications no sunlight prison food and they hope you go crazy so they can keep you their longer everyone in there is trying to escape. When I was… there 2 years ago many other people in there with me said New York City prisons treated them better! Report them for abuse!
STAY Away Elder brother who is schizophrenic has been there since Jan 29th, today is June 16th, and they STILL haven't submitted him for Medicaid....Even after being told multiple times, by multiple people at New Bridge… since the beginning of February, they would take care of submitting him for Medicaid, ...He met the financial requirements in mid April, and still to this day, have not submitted him....and now he has over $250,000 in medical bills and counting. for which of course there is no way he can pay them,...... It makes me think there is something very odd going on here....why would a medical facility not look to file a patient, as quick as possible, to Medicaid, so the hospital can be paid? Makes no sense....for an individual to file on their own to Medicaid, filling out the forms take less than 30 minutes.....very odd ========== Update as of 7-14-2026 ========== I had in the background, in June, applied for my elder brother to receive Medicaid assistance...I never let New Bridge know, I wanted to see if they would get him submitted and covered, before I do......NOPE! They never submitted him for Medicaid, from Jan 29th, to late June 2026, while spent no more than 30 minutes online, filling out the Medicaid application for my disabled brother, and also submitted a brief letter of what he has been going through, and his medical problems. --New Bridge never submitted him for 5+ months while being there.....It took me, 30 minutes, and waited about 35-40 days, and my brother is NOW Covered by Medicaid. ------- No thanks whatsoever to New Bridge.....
It is after an in-depth consideration, and reflection, that I adequately see exactly how instrumental the Recovery Center at BNBMC, has played a part in my recovery. It all begins with the staff. They are truly… exemplary, and most proficient in their chosen fields. I feel that my words would do a disservice to put in prospective, how essential these CPRS played, not only in achieving sobriety, however more importantly, and more difficult to maintain my recovery. The personnel, the programs provided, the loving environment, and the overall sharing experience by the Peer Recovery Specialists, was not only foundational, but life saving as well. My heart overflows with gratitude to (no particular order) Christine, Gary, Lisa, Tina, Ralph, Melissa, Nathaniel, and Jayson. They are truly, prime examples of the type of individuals necessary to assure the afflicted, that there is hope, and a bright sunrise on the horizon of the darkest dawn. Their influence is so great, that I myself, as a person in recovery, is in the midst of ascertaining my certification to become a Peer Recovery Specialist. Thank you one and all, you "Angels of Mercy." Job well done.
I've always felt happy every time I've come to the hospital. Until now, I felt very bad with the charity care assistant.
Great bariatric doctor! Dr. V. Gritsus
Excellent service and human touch
I’m so happy and please with the recovery center, I love the way they allowed me to share my art and speak my mind to help me keep my sobriety.
The worst hospital in New Jersey.
I have the best surgeon.
My mother-in-law has been discharged from the Korean Rehabilitation Unit at this hospital after being admitted for rehabilitation treatment following a stroke. I would like to thank Rosa Kim for assisting with the… admission, and all the staff, including Nurse Kang, for their kindness in taking such good care of her. In particular, Scott Yoon, a Social Worker, was kind and explained everything in detail whenever we contacted each other during her hospitalization, and he went the extra mile to assist with follow-up matters even after her discharge. Thank you once again.
Horrible place. The staff really could care less. God forbid you have to pick up someone at their emergency area. Their staff is absolutely unsympathetic.
I started going to the Recovery Center early January and when I arrived, I was a hot mess. I felt alone, lost, confused about my inability to get off certain substances. I met one of the peer recovery specialist at an… NA meeting, Melissa, and she guided me to Nathan, a current peer recovery specialist. Nathan helped me with understanding my addiction and therefore, after not completing their detox program, I returned. Because of my perseverance did a complete 180. Things got rough eventually because of the insecurities of Tina, Ralph and even their supervisor Christine. Whatever logic they were using regarding recovery was so backwards. They appeared to resent my strength, rapid growth, and eventually exhibited controlling tactics to keep the chaos active. Tina was very passive aggressive and within 1 month, I and 2 other people issued complaints against her. She uses items as control tokens - its so immature and odd. Ralph was more quiet, still insecure and manipulative, and eventually lied on me. Christine let a simple request escalate for 4 weeks because she just didn't want to help reinforce a boundary for me. Unfortunately, that left a bad taste in my mouth despite their Superior Michael being gracious and helpful. It's unfortunate. This is people's lives at risk. It's not a game. So I had to tell my story.
I have been a patient of the out patient behavioral heath for years now. I recently had major surgery and was unable to make an appt within the 3 month policy they have for their patients. I called today to make an… appointment and I got bounced around saying they can’t make an appointment for me since it’s been over 3 month and my chart might be closed. I find it very inconvenient that they only give their patients 3 months to make an appt. My doctor has been filling my refills this whole time so my chart must not be closed. All the receptionists I spoke to on the phone were not nice and proceeded to argue with me that they can’t help me. I wanted a telemed appt since I work for a doctors office the same times as the behavioral health clinic and I’m unable to come into the office in person. How is a patient able to get help when no one is willing to help make an appt. I am very disappointed and upset by this. All I want is the help I need from my doctor but the front desk staff is not willing to help.
Dr. Ekin, Dr. Ali, and Dr. Inzerello are fantastic. They continue to monitor and help me address severe physical and psychological issues related to a motor vehicle crash in which I was struck as a pedestrian. They… listen, provide excellent guidance, and prescribe the proper medications. Three of the best doctors I’ve ever worked with — and I’ve seen more than my share. Melanie (psychiatrist) and Sarah (orthopedic assistant) are also fantastic.
The F1 Unit at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center changed my life! I wouldn't say that I entered the program completely willing. The staff on this unit went above the call of duty and for that I will be forever grateful.… That is from the clinical staff, the therapists, the MHA's, Peer Recovery etc, but here are some that I would like to acknowledge personally and I truly am sorry if I forgot anyone..thank you T, Sarah Jane, Rosalie, Ms. Cynthia;Nursing staff Maria, Carla, Minnie, Christian, Tilu, Donna, Yolanda, Barbara, Terry Ann;Peer Recovery -Charles, Nathan, Gary; the Recreational Therapist Corynn and Jerry and ; Administration, Tiffany and the many peers that came back to offer what was so genuinely given to them, the gift of Recovery. Thanks New Bridge for being such an impactful part of my recovery journey. Yours truly, Ebony B. 1/21/26-2/24/26
