Granite Wellness Centers – Auburn Reviews
Reviews of Granite Wellness Centers bring together what patients, families and referring professionals have said about the facility, on RehabSeekers and around the web. Individual experiences differ, so read more than one.
I wish I could give this zero stars. I was mistreated by employees, my medication was not administered correctly, and after filing some grievances, I was retaliated against and discharged for absolutely no reason. No… paperwork stating what rules I broke or anything like that. This also happened to a handful of other clients in July and August. I would not recommend coming here because they recently changed a lot of staff and they are implementing made up rules on the spot and getting people in trouble who stand up for their own rights.
Helping those that need and want to be helped. 🫀
This facility is the perfect amount of structure, recovery and hope if you are truly ready for change. As a repeat offender.. I have been to GWC residential multiple times but under this new management and program, this… is the time that I truly got what I needed to stay clean and have healthy coping and life skills. Kenny, Tara and Amanda guided me to make the changes I needed to lead a sober and healthy life. I worked on not just my substance use, but my mental health, trauma, codependency, self identity and restoration of family relationships. I stayed the full length of 90 days and this were the most life changing experiences of my life. I am so grateful that I got a bed at this amazing program. I am so grateful for this place. The main goal is to save lives and they are doing this and so much more.
My personal experience at Hope House was truly life-changing. You get out what you put into it, period. It definitely requires a lot of self-motivated internal work, and yes, there are a lot of rules—but those rules are… there for a reason. Those rules personally helped me gain more self-discipline and self-restraint which is such an important part of recovery. Nothing and no rehab in this world is perfect, but the support I received from the staff and the amazing women there truly helped guide me to a better life. They made this journey smoother, more meaningful, and something I’ll always be grateful for. If you can keep a open mind and are ready for change...it will happen ♡
I had the privilege of being cared for and supported during a dark period of my life at Granite Wellness. The counsellors, staff, Therapists and Director gave me the space and time to recover. They provided dynamic… tools and group sessions. They allowed me to be apart of a brotherhood that will be with me my entire life. Thank You Granite Wellness. I am better because you treated me like an equal and empowered me to own my life. ❤️
Great place to go if you want to get clean and start a life of recovery. It's rehab not a summer camp, you get out of it what you put in. If you want true brotherhood the Serenity house is where your going to find it.
Worst treatment facility in all of the foothills. Staff are demeaning, arrogant and rude and the Director is just as God-awful. Go to Pathways or literally ANYWHERE but here.
3 month program for a dui , my last class was watching Tom cruise movie . There was a gentleman by the name of Carl that spent a hour teaching , for some reason his no longer there. Now it’s throw a movie in. Carl… actually thought you . It’s very expensive for those that can’t afford it. But if you find a way , you do not get any sort of education for the money. Carl was great.
Worst place to go I suggest pathways or buddy’s ranch granite wellness is horrible definitely not professional the program manager is inappropriate with staff and clients he does not have the best interest in the… company there is 1 actual counselor the rest are interns half the time the place is a mad house super unorganized there are no boundaries definitely not a place to go they have drugs in and out of the facility there’s very few good staff members who try to help the rest could care less they only want you there so they can collect the money from your insurance this place has so many wrong doing and should be shut down they wonder why they lost the Truckee facility auburn facility and Nevada city (Lovett) facility this place needs to be shut down like the rest of their facilities or they need a new HR program management and all higher ups they will brush off anything and everything!!!!!!!
Saved my life! Thank You! 7 years later and I passed a on the spot drug test at an interview. Thank you for helping me change my life.
I dont understand why this place has people in charge such as Nicole Carmen who allows clients to use and then pushes patients out so that she get her friend's spots there. Then we've got Nevada county that sends people… there for treatment. This is the most laughable thing I've ever seen. Why is this place still in business and why is Nevada county contracting through such place??? NEVADA COUNTY WHY ARE YOU DOING BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE??? This IS NOT a recovery house. THIS CASH COW NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED!
This place is a complete joke. The staff is completely unprofessional. Dont expect them to say what they mean because what they say and what they do are two different things. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE MONEY THEY MAKE.… They need to be put out of business!
I was so hopeful for this place for a family member. Unfortunately it came to my attention there were drugs flowing in the facility and staff having personal physical relationships with patients.
I have never been to a rehab this was the most unprofessional unorganized place you could imagine I get there get told I can only have approved snack which is basically granola bars only the kind of approve nuts with no… shells or flavor no sugar no sugar or candy not chewable while being admitted this place I explained them that I've been using since I was 19 and 38 I only quit for 2 years and 3 months at the whole time when I was pregnant with both my kids and three months I had to go to jail and I told him that I used quite a bit everyday and the lady told the other lady neither one of these nurses she does it need detox she needs a sandwich in a nap which I thought was very unprofessional and rude and if that's all I needed then why was I there so they proceeded to take me to the house the whole house I expressed that I need tampons that I brought in my own personal stuff they continue to check me in have you signed papers which come to find out that they are charging my insurance 12,000 a month $400 a day for detox which they were not providing cuz I needed a sandwich and a nap a proceeded to lead me to waiting area where I was falling asleep in one of the other people in the facility came over and showed me where my room was there is no blankets no nothing in this room I lay down fell asleep 3 hours later woke up covered in blood nobody came to check on me nothing so I went to the front desk waited for 20 minutes cuz nobody was around at the front desk anywhere we're also there was two other girls waiting those girls were there when I first got thereWaiting for one to get paperwork neither one was waiting on a phone call cuz they never answered the phone so she keptMissing her calls from CPS thank GodOne of the other girlsShow me where the bathroom was and gave me a tampon cuz they didn'tEven show me where the bathroom wasI don't know how they can even say they help peopleThey have the receptionistOr secretary whatever you want to callHer Distributing medicationNot even a nurse doing itAnd as I'm leavingShe tells me that I stole snacksThere was no snacks to stealThat is how Petty this place wasAnd childishThese people wereI'd advise nobody to ever go here
just came out of here. most staff talk about their using days like it was a fun time, and talking to the clients about men they know and talking about how they hooked up with those men. group is inconsistent and the… staff have no control over the residents in group. besides two staff. Layla and Walter. the only thing you get out of here is 30, 60, or 90 days clean. i recommended just going to a place with better reviews or just go to a meeting. i was treated with disrespect by one of the cooks because i declined a brisket with coleslaw that had fruit in it. one of the "nurses" there said i had to do 2 things in order to see the psych on their campus, and i did those 2 things the same day i was asked, and i waited until the day i left, 2 weeks after i did those things. never saw the psych, and i did follow up and asked her if she had any updates. she said no. also, got looked in the eye and was told very rudely that this place isnt a mental health facility. ive been to better rehabs in compton. thanks.
When it comes to treatment, you get out what you put in. This is not a vacation spot. This is a place to get your life back together and for most addict's that mean learning how to live with structure and let go of… chaos. At least that's what has worked for my recovery. This place saved my life.
2 weeks have passed after leaving up to 5 messages. INo RETURN CALL!!! F- in my opinion!!!! Returning a phone call is base line service. And you are the alleged alternative to Progress House. Shame on you!!!
The worst rehab I have EVER been. It was more like a prison than a recovery facility. I only lasted a half hour before I left & found a nice place where I was able to recover at Alpha Oaks in Carmichael CA
The bad reviews are in line with my complaints! Staff is unorganized and rude! Rarely does anyone answer the phone and if they do they can’t help you! It’s like most of the staff has no compassion and the clients are… just a number to them!! Someone needs to come in and retrain or rehire staff because it’s a nice campus!
In all sincerity, do not go to this place. It is so unprofessional & disorganized, it's a wonder they're allowed to operate. One person tells you one thing, you hear another from someone else. Its ok to sit on patio… while in detox; someone else comes along says, "What are you doing out here?" Ask a staff person an important question, at least 3 of them will tell you theyll get back to you but never do. They have regular staff dispensing medications, not medical professionals, I was given THE WRONG MEDICATION ONE NIGHT. Laid awake until after 2 am with the jitters. There's no sugar allowed, they'll give you some speech why it's bad for you and Nutrisweet is better. Did the company get a deal on Nutrisweet products? Because, every single client there, except one, smoked cigarettes, even a pregnant woman. They go out for what they call "Fresh air breaks". I guess nicotine is better than sugar? The food is the absolute worst. Milk is either curdled from age or powdered or both. One breakfast was stale toast with a danish roll, looked like it came out of a vending machine. I have no teeth right now, was encouraged to have a soft diet, never happened until 5th day and then it was 2 day old cut up sandwich turkey & 2 day old yams. You can't check your phone, even msgs, in front of someone for the whole 30 days. The rooms stink like mold or must because they've made them not to be opened. Told me most woman come from prison or jail, just want to get drugs in there. Two counselors were very good.
I researched this place and because they accepted our private insurance I suggested it to my husband. When he was finally ready to get real help he contacted them and began the process. The timing was not the greatest… because it was in the middle of the existing Pandemic. (June 2020) . We have private insurance & there was quite a bit of money required to pay upfront. Which happened with help of family. However; it was explained to us that it would be good for 7 days. He would then need to be reevaluated with the insurance and the doctors at the center. Fine. All of that was explained. Very costly, however apparently if you have private insurance you must have thousands of dollars to spend weekly on a 30 day program. However; what was NOT told to us, is that my husband would be tested for COVID and put on quarantine for the first 5 days! So he was provided no services for those 5 days. NOT a single group meeting, not a single private meeting. Nothing. Sat in a room completely alone for 5 days because of COVID. NOT FAIR WHATSOEVER. That should of been explained prior to leaving him there, or it shouldn't of gone against the first 7 days. We paid close to 2K for him to sit in solitaire for 5 days and 2 days of "services" before he decided no one was going to be giving them anymore money and he came home. Thankfully he has continued to be sober. BUT there needs to be better communication.
My son is here now, at first everything was great, now all of a sudden they are having budget cuts in the kitchen and several clients have complained that they are starving! We brought in their list of approved snacks… but they are only allowed to access them twice a day and because the 1 pm snack time is the same time as group they don’t get a snack at that time! I don’t understand why they would make these rules for people that are coming off of drugs, working out and trying to be healthy just to be made to starve! At least let them have their snacks that they bought!!!!
