Hispanic Counseling Center Inc – Hempstead

One of the few places on Long Island that make mental health services really accessible. They took my insurance and are very polite and friendly. The person who took my information was really sweet.

Incredible service from many individuals here especially Natalie, Mike, Melanie and Emelina. I recommend them if you need help with anything.

Good experience with therapist Anna Varas, an excellent therapist who helped me a lot. She is very professional and takes her work very seriously, providing excellent follow-up. The payment plans at this place were also… very good and affordable. The receptionists sometimes have a bad attitude or speak rudely to you when you ask a question or something like that, or they scold you. But it's nothing major. I wish the reception staff could improve. Otherwise, everything is fine.

I don't recommend it. They schedule you to go into a room, and the psychologist only sees you via video call. All for the patient's money and terrible service.

Are the counselors and a care coordinator, said that we should not bother with Hispanic counseling center. But I hope they call a few of their patients like me are a few of the people that they promised things to like… myself and show that they really meant it dear Alexis dear Alexis a question

There was a promise of help they haven't kept their word yet, and they're going through some construction right now so this may not be the best place at this moment. It was pretty good in the past., Alexis spoke with… me, he wasn't very helpful, didn't give us any numbers that our insurance would cover, more to come

Undertrained staff with poor ethics. Therapists disclosing inappropriate personal stories to patients and providing 15min sessions with their kids in background during COVID. Psychiatrist who offered patient pricing to… rent her personal apartment during pandemic. Spanish speaking patients should not receive a less quality service.

very good service and the tdic is the best I recommend sending you kids there the counselors are super duper nice, I’ve met all the counselors, Josh, Maria, Janet, Katherine, and Michele, they all very nice.

I strongly recommend to NOT GO to this “therapy” clinic. Jessica was unable and unwilling to provide any beneficial consolidation, advice, etc. Instead, Jessica called the cops on me and I was escorted to a hospital… because I was “in immediate danger”😂😂😂. I lost an entire day of work for that. This “therapist” is an unprofessional individuals who is leeching the benefits from their career title while trying to accomplish their failed dreams as detectives. The “therapists” working here have no actual intention of helping anyone, they’re just looking to get paid with their feet kicked up.

I went for a month and spoke with a psychologist and a psychiatrist. They told me I couldn't continue seeing them because I had moved to Queens. They said they would send me a letter with information about psychologists… who could treat me and my history with them. I called them several times, but they never sent the paperwork. They said I was a high-risk patient, but they didn't care about leaving me without a psychologist.

Melinda Bonilla is a great therapist. She’s easy to talk to and really listens. I feel a lot better after our sessions, and she helps me deal with stress and anxiety.

The ladies on the phone always catch an attitude & have no profession. It’s a counseling center but yet again you guys are the ones w/ the nasty attitude but it’s okay one day y’all will get caught up treating people… like that!

The counselors are unprofessional, the after-school program is terrible, Josh is unprofessional with the "principal" and has favorite kids, and the summer camp is nothing new...

My experience with Hispanic Counseling Center not improved much. I went to 3 appointments with Therapist Melinda Bonilla, just to talk and taking notes and I can’t see a Psychiatrist. Them scheduled a appointment with a… Psychiatrist Dr. Álvarez. I waiting and waiting till the appointment day. Just Getting to Hispanic Counseling Center for my appointment I call Because heavy traffic telling that I will be there in 10 minutes lates. They talk me my Appointment was Cancelled. No body talk me by a call or text message about any appointment Cancellation. The staff in the office challenged any patients. If just communicated appropriate and listened the patients that visited and waiting for the appointments scheduled. The reasons why? people’s make statements how they been treated Visiting organizations like this It’s to warning others about the Care they been Receiving. Thanks New York of Health.

I went the HCC for a year now and everyone is so nice especially the receptionists! I feel very comfortable in there and my therapist was honestly so kind and helpful towards my journey of self recovery! 😊 will forever… be grateful for everything they helped me through 🫶

I am grateful to God, my family, my therapist Jennifer, and my psychiatrist Dr. Álvarez. My life and my way of thinking are different. They bring me so much peace; they are always there for me and listen to the episodes… in my life, some negative, but thanks to them, my new experiences are more positive than negative. Thank you, Jennifer, and thank you, Dr. Álvarez. The staff who greet me treat me with great kindness and respect, and so far, I haven't had to wait for my appointment. I like it; I feel very comfortable with all the staff at the clinic. Thank you, Hispanic Counseling Center.

i would definitely recommend a friend or family, affordable with payment plans when needed, lovely receptionists, been coming here for years now, amazing therapy service. my therapist jennifer is very helpful and will… make any issues you have be known to the staff !

I had the worst experience at this place with my daughter. The receptionists provided terrible service, and the therapist she had was unprofessional and dishonest; it seemed her only interest was getting paid. It's… awful what they do!

This center has been very helpful for my progress; they assisted me whenever I needed it, both with therapy services and payment plans. The reception service has been a bit disappointing, especially since there's no one… to speak to about it. Their coordinator doesn't work at this location. Otherwise, the work of the therapists and the staff is excellent!

Ok, I don't really get why there's so many 1 star reviews, the ladies in the front desk are nice and usely mind's their own business and my therapist Jennifer is really understanding so that people who are complaining… about their therapist then get a new one that's right for you, the only thing that that place should do is decorate the lobby, it feels so empty, not even doctor's offices are so depressing. Still love this place and is probably one of only places I feel safe to talk about my feelings.
