NeuroDiagnostic Institute – Indianapolis Reviews and Ratings
Have you or a loved one been treated at NeuroDiagnostic Institute? A few lines about admissions, the staff and what happened after treatment ended can help another family in Indianapolis weigh the same choice.
I just got released yesterday. I was there for 10 months. This was one of the best experiences. The SA's are amazing during day shift. A lot of them did so much for me. There was this lady SA Lisa Bales. who is on night… shift. She was awful, we could never do anything right when she worked. Always getting reprimanded for something we didn't even do. Always disrespectful and in my opinion should not work there is she is going to treat the patients like that. She is abusive to the patients and when she is working we aren't allowed to feel bad. She always expects our days to be perfect and when their not she has a problem. She is the only reason I'm not giving five stars. The day shift SAs were amazing, they are always sympathetic and always had a way of making me smile or laugh. They knew how to do their job. I always got treat fairly and they already don't get enough credit for all the things they do for the patients. Some of them Karen, Adrienne, Danielle, Hugh (Aka Biggie) , Melissa M , Deborah, Caressa , Ciana (Aka Callie) , Dania, Ashley , Sahara, Leigh, and Dr. Copley as well as a few others all deserve praises and a raise. They made a huge impact on me and I will never forget that. These people became family overtime and I couldn't be more grateful for them. (Nikki- you know who you are stop treating them like their garbage, I know they have maybe done a few wrong things but nobody is perfect, if I half to I have ways of reporting you and one other person, I have numbers don't make me use them. I am not afraid to do what I half to do.). I love you guys! Even though this experience may have not been the greatest towards the end, you guys made it so much easier and even though I didn't want to come there and wasn't the greatest patient in the beginning it was all worth it. Thanks for everything you guys ever did and know that you made a difference in my stay there and in my life. When I got there I wanted my life to end and I didn't even know how to be a normal functioning human being, I didn't know what to do with my life and how to do life, now I do thanks to all of the people that I mentioned. I know it was mostly me but if I never came there or didn't even try I may not have been here. So thank you for showing me how to live a happy, positive, and fullfilling life! Now your duck will be great and if I'm now I will remember what I learned and continue on for the better. Love you all 🥰
I never give negative reviews on Google, but this one is justified. They are absolutely horrible with communication. We live 3 hours away and trying to reach my son even by phone has been a nightmare. When we went for… visits, they said they knew nothing about it, and constantly got the times wrong. When we got him for a weekend visit, they once again said they knew nothing about it, even though it had been confirmed through his social worker. My son's support team has completly changed in the last 4 months, so the turnover rate is alarming. He has gotten no help at all, but they are collecting their money from my insurance. The woman at the front desk was very rude to everyone I saw her come in contact with. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!! It is a giant waste of time. They do absolutely nothing. Now I need to find therapy to help my son recover from this place.
Just left there as a patient for last 3 months staff was horrible sa we’re always in the phones and sleeping on the job . They continued to allow hostile situations to continue without redirecting the patients. Very… unsafe and scary I hope no one is ever sent here again
i was a former patient there and they are not a good place at all they are abusive and i just got worse being there they placed me on to many medications and they said a faked passing out and going unconsious this place… needs to be shut down and please anybody do not go there or do not let your loved ones go there
The staff is terrible in this place. Read all review ant take them serious before getting yourself or anyone else help in this facility. Much like everything else in Indiana, it’s it’s remarkably sad and pathetic.… Options is being shut down and so should NDI.
NDI by far is one of the places in Indiana that you could send your child if you want them to genuinely get better and not worry about them possibly being unsafe. The facility itself is VERY clean, and each resident has… their own room, the unit is very spacious, not claustrophobic like many other facilities. The techs are some of the nicest staff out there, as well as the unit director, case managers, therapists, nurses, and psychologists. When your child first gets admitted they will get to meet the unit director and a tech that will be working on their unit, they aren't just dropped off on the unit not knowing anyone. Then throughout the next few days they will meet everyone apart of their care team, making them feel apart of their treatment. The unit is never understaffed, and backup techs can ALWAYS be called they do a great job of preventing patients from harming themselves or others. Safety is one of their top priorities. Another great thing is that they GENUINELY want your child to get better, they aren't just a file. They have different phases, so your child will feel validated for their progress in treatment. So if you are looking into getting your child help for severe mental health challenges NDI would be a great fit. This is coming from someone who was formly a patient at NDI. (PS Amy if you see this, you helped me so many other patients, thank you for always going the extra mile. ❤️)
It took me 3 days of calling them just to get them to answer the phone. Not even the receptionist would answer. Then another 2 days until I was able to get a Zoom meeting with the doctors. They said she was doing well… and the hostility episodes were better so I called her. They were wrong. She hasn't been helped at all. I think they it's a terrible place and they are not helping the patients. The sooner they get investigated by the Indiana AG the better. Don't send your loved ones here, it's not a good place. And they still don't answer the phone..... Update: they are discharging Jean Monday. In a way I will just be glad to get her out of there, but I don't know what I will be getting back. Better or worse, I guess we will find out Monday... If at all possible, DO NOT send your loved one here.
This review is on behalf of my partner. Without discussing too much of her business, the Neuro Diagnostic Institute was the first location to actually provide actionable behavioral therapy and take her concerns… seriously, providing competent and trained support to deal with legitimately life-threatening mental health issues. About a year after her first stay, we are considering admitting her again. I saw that the reviews did not reflect her first experience and wanted to let any individuals reading them know that, at least in our experience, the care here was great. I wouldn't say she "loved" it, but I'm not sure how much one can love inpatient care when battling mental health concerns. She felt safe, cared for, listened to, and ultimately trusts them enough to willingly re-admit.
Do not send or bring any personal items! They will be stolen and never returned or compensated for loss.
A team of human beings treating the Guest with kindness, closeness, supporting you, and making you feel that you are safe in that place. Always clean, with a design that helps you feel at home.
Friendly atmosphere
Very poor food poor beds poor treatment the staff mostly didn't care at all they stole my clothes I came in with 7 days worth of clothes and came out with what was on my back Phone calls were rare and they drug you up… as your treatment pretty much there is no therapeutic benefits I was jumped multiple times and no staff helped I never got help and would rather be locked up than go there again if i could put 0 stars i would horrible all around please dont make the mistake of going here
About 2 years ago my boyfriend was admitted there and said he tried to overdose. The problem was that when they did a tox screen for him they only found the in his system. In my experience, one cannot overdose on the.… Anyway, I created an online account for him and noticed that the hospital staff were dosing him with all sorts of drugs. Mostly to keep him sedated. This particular establishment CANNOT be trusted with your loved ones. Or mine. When they released my boyfriend he was so doped up he could hardly walk. This place is in the business of killing people.
I was there for 4 and a half months this place did not help me at all but made me more aggressive the kids there were not properly helped the food wAs trash with mold and much more
They over prescribe their “patients” sleeping medication to the point that can’t stand on their own. Their patients go all day without food ! Most of the nurses on staff are very rude and will tell you your loved one is… busy but they really be drugged up past out in their room.
My son was a patient there from December until January of this year. I had to do an EMERGENCY removal due to a female nurse (who will remain nameless) not paying attention, and gave my son HIS medication, on top of… ANOTHER child’s medication. Right after he had taken the medication, none of the staff was paying attention. The CHILDREN alerted the staff that my son had fainted. He also went into severe respiratory distress. To make matters worse, the med list that was provided to the hospital was the same medication of that which they OVERDOSED him on!!! The techs there do NOT pay attention to the children at all! They are always on their cell phones. ( I have proof of this) One of the techs even VIOLATED their own patient privacy rule, and provided my son, as well another child with each others Instagram information. ( I have proof of this) The techs would show the children posts from their Instagram accounts. They are not supposed to have their phones on the units. The therapist, Allison Robertson, who is the lead therapist for the boys’ unit, is VERY unprofessional! During her one to one sessions with my son, she would randomly share that she has “cramps.” My son asked me during a phone call does that mean that a lady is on her PERIOD!!! She also shared things about her divorce, and talked about her new boyfriend to him. During family sessions, Ms. Robertson would speak negative of her husband who divorced her, as well as situation’s about her new boyfriend. Unfortunately, she does not have children of her own, but will compare her DOG’s behavior to that of a HUMAN child! A person who does not have children should not be criticizing parents who are trying the best they can to help their child. These children cannot help their mental illnesses, yet she will blame the parents for all of it. Dr. Miller, the head doctor is SUPER nice. The doctor’s assistant, Katie, did not listen to anything I told her about what was going on with my son. Katie used the diagnosises from my son’s first inpatient stay, as diagnosises from his most recent stay in January. The therapist that he currently sees, sent over all the documentation that shows his active diagnosises. Yet when we went in for his intake, she pretty much called me a liar, and made it seem as if I was making up diagnosises. I have a copy of the paperwork that was sent over to NDI that shows all the diagnosises that I told her and Allison about. By the grace of God, another facility has ACCURATELY diagnosed my child, and have put him on the right medication dosage that will help manage a lot of his issues that are out of his control. I am so THANKFUL that this facility actually LISTENED to my child and I. We are FOREVER indebted. Even though all these things went on, I still keep the facility in my prayers. I hope that no child or family has to deal with what we went through. Thank you for reading.
Worst experience of my life. I am a therapist myself and I was treated terribly. I had to say what they wanted to hear in order to get released. They did not make me the slightest bit better. They gave me PTSD. The… staff was unfriendly and encouraged me to not talk. I felt my voice was taken away and I could not advocate for myself. I could go on but suffice it to say this is not the place to go to recover.
Good people, continuous support and training to help understand people with mental health needs us too😘.
Excellent service and we provide RN, CN, CNA and SA services from SyraHealth.
Well my soon to be stepson is there as of yesterday for 3 months .there is no tv in room and the only tv out of his room has only the news on and we all know nothing on the news is anything but depressing. There are no… activies to keep him focoused on anything else but his mental state and physical problems. This place will put him a state of more depression. I inow hes there for evaluation but keeping his mind busy would be helful .
Oddest looking building I have ever seen - funny, pale colors and the building looks as if it is leaning toward 16th street.
