New Insights II Inc – York

Went for a D/A evaluation for medical marijuana and thought I was paying for an actual evaluation but lady made it clear we were skipping straight to recommendation. Charged me full price and still wanted my insurance… info on top. Talked to me like I was trash. Didn’t want to hear anything I had to say. Just sign these papers and pay us. Compared medical marijuana which stays in your system over a month to anxiety meds that you can clear out in less than 24 hours. As a supposed counselor I asked what would be the correct way to use my meds and maintain a job and life without going 30 days without driving. She replied she doesn’t make the laws. PA has a zero tolerance meaning they don’t care if you are actually impaired just if you have any thc in your system which as a medical marijuana patient is a given. Cop pulled me over said he smelled weed. Didn’t find any. Haven’t even went to trial for this yet. She stated also that this is her approach to all medical marijuana patients. With that being said, don’t go here for medical marijuana especially if you are black. Honestly nobody should probably go here considering they skip evaluation all together straight to recommendation even though they still charge you for evaluation. I was robbed today but hopefully I can save someone else from being treated less than human and charged for the pleasure at that. Update: A very pleasant lady named Sherry got back to me today to apologize about my experience and to let me know they will be mailing me a check since I didn’t actually receive an evaluation. This significantly changes how I feel overall and I felt compelled to update this review to reflect that. If you see this Ms. sherry thank you again for being polite and honest.

I had christine for my counselor she was amazing she cared about my treatment also had her for the driver education part christine really takes it seriously I cannot thank her enough for helping me with it i would… recommend christine for counseling

New insights helped me dramatically,Christine I could not have asked for a better more real and caring counselor,to overcome my isssues and my addiction to help start living again for myself and to finally feel like… myself again.

Gave me a new out look on life

Very unprofessional, no accountability when caught at fault, and keeps zero records. No consistency between employees and most of all when the client explains a change in job/living situation with counselor no solution… will be brought up unless the client asserts the situation. Was charged for services despite being covered under insurance

They help me get the tools I need to maintain sobriety, They help me understand the reasons I made the wrong decisions . Help me keep a positive attitude in my recovery . And on going ways to stay sober .

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at New Insights II. Christine, my individual counselor truly cared about my wellbeing and was there to support me through my process of change. She helped me to get clean after… years of use and made me feel a part of something special. Christine guided me toward community supports which is something I didn’t know I needed, but has been a saving grace . Jamie the group counselor was knowledgeable and also cares about her clients.. I would recommend New Insights II for anyone seeking quality treatment for substance abuse and addiction.

Very well organized . My therapist was very well educated. Very patient with my not wanting to express any of my thoughts or feelings.

I have been dealing with a very difficult custody battle for some time now. I called every D&A evaluation provider in York County and no one responded to me because I was not in a criminal situation that required court… ordered treatment. New Insights ll answered me. From an administrative perspective Lisa was very responsive and the PA CADC (Christine) staff was very supportive in me meeting my goal of achieving custody of my daughter again. I am very appreciative and recommend them for anyone that has goal such as mine. I highly recommend them for everyone that has been in my situation. Thank you!

I just recently finished all my outpatient treatments at new insights, Sue Gifford was my treatment specialist she was Amazing, great energy spirit and charisma. She really seems concerned about the well being of the… clients, I also had Christine for the highway safety patrol classes, she is so kind and pleasant! All the ladies in the office who check you into your appointments are just absolutely so attentive and kind, overall just happy to be successfully completed would def suggest New insights to anyone who is having to complete outpatient treatment.

Has bed bugs

Called today to discuss a possible D/A eval for a bogus DUI, don't bother. The lady, Lisa already has an opinion on you before you even open your mouth to speak. She talks down to you, very unprofessional. Cancelled… before she set the appt. I'll go somewhere else. No wonder why the other place is booked, because NE sucks.

I am a full time father and productive member of society because of this place. It took me a long time but I haven't had a drink since Dec 2 2019. I owe my life to those on staff at that time. Not a day goes by where I… am not thankful for my time there. Thank you, Jared (JJ)

I am a recovering alcoholic who thought he had the answers to everything. My addiction to alcohol began to have physical repercussions and so I quit. I quit drinking, but never began to get SOBER (physically, mentally,… and spiritually) until I began to open up to a counselor at New Insights II. I found things out about myself that I either didn't know, or never wanted to believe, which was disconcerting, but I also found HOPE in the future. I found out that being strong didn't mean NOT asking for help. I was encouraged to find strengths in my own self that I didn't know I had. I always was a good person, but my fears and bravado kept me from allowing me to be the BEST person I can be today. Tomorrow I believe I will be a smidge better. Thanks to all the staff at New Insights II I never felt like a "second class citizen" and I wasn't treated in a condescending manner. I wanted to become a healthier person, and I received amazing guidance and insight (ironically :) ) to forge a path using my past as learning experiences to build a better life on.

I have a loved one who attends here to fullfill a court obligation. I urge everyone out there to please go anywhere but New Insights York. They tried to tell him after 17 classes and only one left to go our insurance… was not paying so unless he paid them $1000 they were kicking him out. After proving insurance, he complained to them, saying they are only after money. Their next step, as a punishment was to have him attend approx 8 more half classes and in addition pay an extra $20 out of pocket, over what insurance will pay. It is a very dishonest way to practice. Go anywhere else. Trust us...

Started as a necessity but helped me find out a lot about myself and enabled me to change.
