Positive Recovery LLC – Spicewood Detox and Rehab Services
Positive Recovery LLC – Spicewood carries a listing for detox and residential treatment. Withdrawal is managed under clinical observation before other treatment begins, which matters most in the first seventy-two hours for alcohol and benzodiazepines. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.
Only one side is on record here, so ask directly if both are needed. Medication and talking treatment run together under clinical oversight. Ask directly about session times and frequency, as those details decide whether someone can realistically attend.

Positive Recovery LLC – Spicewood Address, Location and Contact Information
The facility address is 840 County Road 420, Spicewood, Texas, 78669. Spicewood sits in Travis County. The site also serves the surrounding area, and anyone traveling in should confirm the route before setting out. Journey time and parking are not trivial details when treatment runs several times a week over months.
It is worth calling first to confirm access, parking and the shape of a first visit. Where travel is difficult, ask whether an initial appointment can be held remotely. Reception hours vary, so a call that goes unanswered once is worth repeating rather than treating as a dead end.

Positive Recovery LLC – Spicewood Reviews and Ratings
Patients remember things about Positive Recovery LLC that no register holds: who answered the phone, how the first day went, whether family were included.
If you have that kind of knowledge, a review in this section passes it on.
Staff was amazing. The detox program was extremely smooth. No withdraw symptoms. Thank for all the nurses help. And all the great people. Also chef is amazing lol. Thank you Tod
Fantastic experience, great staff, everyone has your best interest at heart! Highly recommend
This place was awesome & life changing! If you’re looking for help I would highly recommend coming to experience.
From Beverly in admissions to Chef Bill, RAs Steve, Patsy and Nancy, Counselors Terry & Christy all showed me compassion and empathy as I began navigating early recovery. The medical team made detox as comfortable as… possible and the facilities excellent. Comfortable without being pretentious. Julie has created a positive, nurturing environment at PRC Spicewood, her Family Workshop jumpstarted the healing process for our family.
I knew I couldn't manage detoxing from this insidious medication without help. I got it here at PRC. I especially appreciate Todd and his urging me to stay and not try out patient. He and his experience definitely… trumped my medical knowledge. I very much appreciate his ability to explain and reason with me and in doing so, I am very confident in my future. Thanks to everyone for their help in this difficult experience.
★★★★★ ⭐ I recently completed a 30-day program in Spicewood, and I can say without hesitation that Positive Recovery Centers is the real deal. It is the farthest thing from the insurance-driven, “buyer beware” rehab… programs people sometimes worry about. The care here is authentic, intentional, and genuinely centered around patients’ best interests. ❤️ From day one, the staff showed up fully. For all 30 days, I saw professionals who clearly wanted to be there and who deeply care about the work they do. That consistency matters when you’re in a vulnerable place. The team is made up of people with heart, experience, and a real passion for helping others recover. 🩺 Detox was handled with exceptional care. The nursing team and medical staff managed medications thoughtfully and made the process as smooth and comfortable as possible. I felt safe, monitored, and supported the entire time. 🤝 The program itself leans heavily into group therapy, and in hindsight, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. There’s something powerful about working through things alongside others who truly understand. The shared vulnerability and accountability created bonds that will last well beyond my time there. 🌅 The facility is beautiful. The Hill Country scenery alone is therapeutic. The sunrises and sunsets over the property are breathtaking, and sharing those quiet moments with other patients became some of the most meaningful parts of my stay. It feels more like a retreat center than a clinical institution. 🏡 You may have a roommate during your stay. I did for most of mine, and I’m grateful for it. The staff is intentional about pairing people who will connect well, and in my case, they absolutely got it right. I learned a tremendous amount from both of my roommates, and we’ve remained friends since completing the program. 🌿 Outside of therapy sessions, there is space to decompress and reconnect with life in healthy ways. We swam, played ping pong and pickleball, walked scenic trails through the woods, and even built a small stone sculpture on the property as a symbolic way to leave something positive behind. There is balance between structured work and restorative downtime. 🍽️ The food deserves recognition as well. The chefs are fantastic and very accommodating of dietary preferences. Meals were consistently good, and it’s clear they care about nourishing both body and mind. 🔄 While the program is 12-step friendly, it is not exclusively centered around AA or NA. You’re introduced to meetings and given the opportunity to attend live meetings as a group, which I found incredibly helpful. It prepares you for real-world recovery while allowing space for different recovery philosophies. 🧠 The staff-to-patient ratio is excellent. I had meaningful one-on-one time with counselors and consistent access to the psychiatrist. I never felt like a number. I felt known. 🙏 Special thanks to Bill, Donnie, Christy, Julie, Terry, Steve, and the entire nursing staff. Truly outstanding people with hearts of gold. 🌎 In my opinion, this is one of the strongest rehabilitation programs in Texas. The fact that there were people attending from out of state speaks volumes. 💪 If you are struggling with addiction and unsure where to turn, I highly recommend this program. It gave me structure, support, clarity, and a foundation I can build on moving forward.
Family weekend exceeded my expectations. PRC has an amazing program and compassionate and skilled professionals.
Absolutely the best residential treatment center. Patients individual care is true and genuine. My consular Christy Havard helped me whenever I was a difficult unwilling to change an helped me to be the truest best… version of myself. The staff is so wonderful and caring. Id definitely recommend anyone looking to change your life chose PRC.
Positive Recovery is amazing. It has changed my life. The nurses, the counselors, and the RA's are amazing, and they genuinely care about the residents. The treatment plans are individualized, there is a pool, and there… are weekly meditations. I want to recognize RA's Steve, Tori, Jules, and Nancy who are amazing and passionate about their jobs. Additionally, Counselors Terry, and Colleen for their incredible work. I also want to shout out Nurse Amanda for being so dedicated, hardworking, empathetic, and kind, and nurses Shelley, Wes, Molly and Jane for their incredible dedication and empathy! Last but not least, a huge chef Bill is the man! He cares about the clients, is passionate about cooking, and is a hell of a chef! I will never forget PRC and my wonderful experience there.
Absolutely horrible place they misinform and flat out lie. Removed all emergency contacts was gonna wipe me from the face of the earth. Quite literally sold me on a place that can help with autoimmune disorders like… Addisons disease. Took me from their facility under the guise of going to a hospital and abandoned me at a psych ward. My loved one had to leave and drive 5+ hours literally sat in Georgetown square by a restaurant called Roots with all my stuff that wasnt stolen like prescription Costa sunglasses that are over 700dollars and didn’t send all my meds back. Very unprofessional, staff and patients were rude at times. I am doing this for me not anyone else. Caddy behavior, very judgmental, not at all like it is described, was suppose to have a private room to detox off that’s it. I am traumatized never been on my own I trusted these people and the dr was too lazy to even deal with my autoimmune disorder even after getting the recommended regimen from my endocrinologist. Everyone needs help sometimes and this is not the place. There are some amazing facilities that help and don’t keep you prisoner or abandon you at a psych ward under the guise of a hospital. I am not my past and I pushed through some minor challenges on the very first day. Please don’t be afraid to ask for help not one more person needs to die because of a mistake made in the past. We are not are past. The only positive thing I have to say is the night nurse was absolutely amazing other then that I highly recommend somewhere else.
Prc was great it really helped me get where I want to be to create a great future for myself. The staff and counselors were great and supported me through my time here. I appreciate everything they did to help me and I… highly recommend Prc in spicewood!
Where do I start? If you are looking to get sober, this is not the place. Positive Recovery lacks professionalism, integrity and sincerity and here are a few examples from my personal experience. -I was sexually… assaulted at the facility. When I brought up the incident to the staff, the head nurse/director told me “ well, you’re an attractive woman” and nothing was done to penalize the person who assaulted me. -There were drugs brought into the facility by patience. I physically saw them use the drug. -The staff were insensitive to mental health disorders. -The staff listened to your personal conversations on the phone with family. A staff member named Karen seemed to enjoy listening to mine. She laughed at some tough conversations I had to have with family. Positive Recovery is a very stressful environment, not a place of healing. By the grace of God, I’m sober now, but it’s not because of Positive Recovery.
This place is the real deal, super nice calm and serene facility, great staff. Just an all together great environment for healing. They have a chef that makes three delicious meals daily, you get break time during the… day so you can make use of the pool, TV, walking trail, or just rest or read or do any leisure activities. They have a small library shelf where you can read some books too. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are nice as well. We did work toward our sobriety every day with staff facilitated groups, writing exercises, and work sheet assignments. There was a doctor who'd come by weekly to talk with us about our lab results and physical and mental health. He'd prescribe medicine and adjust your dose as needed. For example, he worked with me on getting my anti-depressants to the right dose. Family could visit weekly in person and hang out with you, and you get phone access every day at the end of the day through their landline. There's so many things that make this place great. I'd recommend Positive Recovery to anyone who has an addiction to beat.
Beautiful place with amazing staff.
Graced by divine intervention, PRC Hill Country was the place I went to treatment. I went to treatment back in May of 2021 and have been sober since. It was (is) my first time in recovery and I can't speak highly enough… of this place. I was very skeptical at first, but tried to keep an open mind because I was SO tired of living the way that I was, in addition to causing so much stress on my family and others that cared for me. I came from Tomball and ultimately decided to stay in the Austin area to go to sober living (check out Brightside Sober Living if you stay in the Austin area!). After 18 months, I came back to Tomball and have continued to live a sober, happy, and fulfilling life. The psychology-based treatment is what worked for me and helped me discover, as well as learn more about myself. When I first saw the facility and the grounds, I thought I was coming into a luxurious-type of facility because it is SO nice. The food that the chefs make is also AMAZING. If you're ready for help and looking for a sign, this is it. I strongly encourage you to check out the PRC Hill Country location.
Positive Recovery in Spicewood is top notch from the director down to the cleaning staff. The census is small so each patient has the opportunity to get a lot of attention and not just be a number. Many facilities have… much larger censuses which can water down one's level of treatment, not the case at PRC. Programming is directed at tackling the day to day issues that individuals in recovery face throughout their struggles and what they can expect to face when they complete the program and go back to their normal lives. In addition they care very much in your aftercare and are instrumental in assisting one to set up their plan. Whether it be PHP, IOP, Alumni Activities, sober groups and many resources for various recovery organizations (AA, smart recovery etc). Their facility itself is great as well, which includes a walking trail, great scenery and the swimming pool was bonus as well (the small gym too). The accommodations as far as sleeping and eating are well above average as well. If you trust the process, ask questions, don't sweat any small stuff (inside or outside of the facility), focus on your goals to ensure success after your stay and follow their aftercare suggestions then you have a great chance of success. However, I want to stress that the hard work that is necessary for sustained sobriety is not accomplished during your stay, rather you are taught during your stay what to do after you leave. The day you leave is when the hard work begins and if you follow their plan that they will assist you with then you have a great chance of success. And if you slip up, ask for help and go back as soon as you can - relapse is a part of many people's journey - so remember that you are not alone and there are people that care and want to help. Best of luck to you if you decide to go to this facility or another.
I have to agree this place is HORRIBLE when it comes to opioid addicts. They are untrained and very rude. The night nurses are nice but the day time nurses are rude and have an attitude. The director there is on a high… horse and does not care about the patients. I promise you that if you go to positive recovery you will only be a warm body in their bed because they don’t care. And when I say they I mean the nursing staff and management. I seen some horrible treatment to one patient in particular when I was and when I tried to intervene I was shut down, as if my voice didn’t matter because I’m an addict! This place should be shut down.
The director of this place is very unprofessional and doesn’t listen to the patients. Very rude: One of the nurses Amanda is horrible at what she does and is very unprofessional. I’m hoping it wasn’t because the color… of my skin being I was the only black person there including staff and patients. They aren’t trained well at all in opioid addiction, so if you’re detoxing off opioids please DONT COME HERE! Soberity is important to me so I am just transferring to a different facility. This facility was the worst experience I’ve ever had! The crazy part was the staff was interviewing for some reporter so we had to make ourselves disappear but during the interview I started to feel horrible so I told staff and she got an attitude with me cause I was interrupting them.I can go on about how this place is so unprofessional.. DONT GO TO POSITIVE RECOVERY!
Wonderful experience and groups with great councilors and recovery based positive psychology classes great facilities and staff!
Awesome place !!
The staff is great, very knowledgeable and helpful in your recovery. This is a very good place to go, and the food is awesome as well.
Had a great experience at PRC Hill Country. Colleen is one of the nicest and most educated LCDC's. Carter, the chef, will make you miss him when you leave. The facility is nice, new and clean. With the tools they taught… me I have a great chance at staying sober! They have many connections to keep you in the recovery network even when I moved back to Houston. Would recommend PRC to anyone seeking a positive supportive rehab!
The staff and treatment was absolutely amazing. Facility was beautiful and peaceful
I had an awesome experience. The facility is beautiful and the staff is caring and knowledgeable and invested in the clients. I learned a lot about myself that I still use today and would recommend Positive Recovery… Hill Country to my friends and family.
The choice to enter recovery was one of the scariest decisions I have ever made. I found bravery to get help in the gentle hands of those that provide these crucial services at Positive Recovery Centers. They understand… the pain of living with regret, fear and addictions and professionally guided me into my own light. I now live with peace and freedom since working on my strengths through the positive recovery curriculum. I highly recommend the work of Positive Recovery Centers and its amazing staff and Executive Director, Colleen Olfers!
