Rock Springs Changes – Cedar Park Detox and Rehab Services

The register shows Rock Springs Changes – Cedar Park providing partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.

Both conditions are treated in parallel, which is what the research supports. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

This place gets a really bad rap honestly. I was scared to go at first but I had one of the best experiences of my life and I met so many friends. The staff are kind to the patients and this place genuinely did help me.… I don’t think I would be here today if it wasn’t for rock springs. I was in a good group of people and everybody got along and helped each other when they needed it. It’s been about 8 months since I was there and I really miss those times where the group would just sit and talk about what happened the day before and people would offer advice or just reassure them. 11/10 I would definitely come again if I needed to. I had a really awesome time despite the fact that I was struggling mentally ❤️

Love Rock Springs Changes! Really helped my teenager and the staff is so welcoming. She's done PHP and IOP there and I'm grateful for their assistance.

Went here when I was younger. I was going through a tough time. Had group sessions and it still traumatizes me to this day. There was about 8 people in the room including me and the therapist. all sitting in chairs.… someone brought something up about me that they didn't like and everyone else joined in. the therapist waited to stop everyone when I was hyperventilating breaking down in front of everyone. Nothing was ever done about it. And I never spoke in the group sessions again, which was when my mom decided to take me out of this program. HAVE ur therapists (staff) SPEAK UP!

My daughter came here after RTC and after several acute stays and PHP elsewhere. The counselor Jaqueline and NP PYschiatrist Andrea were phenomenal in communication and in how they responded to her as well as all my… various emails. She was discharged and almost instantly she was beginning to spiral, I quickly emailed and let them know and they have been working with me to get her into another RTC facility. I can't thank them enough for all of their help!

I was a patient here at changes and was told after maybe a week and a half I went in for help to talk to the psychiatrist Princess and complained to her about how I wasn’t getting the help I needed from the therapist… Jacqueline and was painting and playing games instead of getting therapy and developing coping mechanisms. It was seriously like getting dropped off at a daycare to make arts and crafts. I talk to a lot of the patients there and they all felt the same as me they felt like they were not gonna get anywhere and helpless. Instead of going to Jacqueline to fix how was she was working with teenagers, I was told that if group therapy isn’t working for me maybe this isn’t the place for me after only being there a week not having any practices on therapy. Jacqueline would be working on other things during our time and even one time when the Director came to see how everything was going, Jacqueline was sitting on the floor with paperwork in front of her and the front desk lady came in to whisper something in her ear then quickly Jacqueline stood up and started walking around pretending to check on the patients. I’ve never felt more helpless in a place that was supposed to bring my spark back.

I can only speak to the Changes location in Cedar Park, but it was an AWFUL experience for my teen. I witnessed the lack of real care. Mocking and gaslighting by both the front desk and the therapist, even though the… communication was in writing and you could see the misalignment. There was also a lack of therapy. THERAPY. That's the whole point. I felt they were pushing the PHP program, and ignoring the IOP program. I will say though, the Director of Operations (of Rock Springs) was friendly and helpful, and the schedule was meant to include several group therapy sessions per day. However, coming for real help and getting this...is wrong and highly unprofessional. The therapist was the problem and had obviously found a way around conducting group therapy every day. My teen was watching TV and painting during the "group therapy" sessions and only had a full schedule of therapy for ONE of the days that she was there out of the two weeks before I discharged her early. There were a couple of sessions prior, but it was once per day, lasting 15-30 minutes out of the allotted 4+ hours they have scheduled for group sessions. TV and painting are great, you can even consider painting a type of therapy. However, it is not helpful in managing her day-to-day life...a far cry from Intensive Therapy. It's a disappointment and disservice to families that come here because they desperately need the help. I better not receive a bill from them. That's all I have to say.

I’m still receiving bills from this place and no one can tell me why. I got in contact with someone and they quickly wanted to get me off the phone and gave me an inaccurate number. Did not help me at all, in fact she… blamed me for why I got this bill. This is ridiculous. I reached out to them by email two days ago and heard nothing and called patient advocacy and heard nothing.

My daughter spent four weeks in their Partial Hospitalization plan and then was scheduled to move to the IOP. Our experiences with this facility were mixed. One the one hand the counselor and the Psychiatric Nurse… Practitioner were incredibly good. My daughter loved working with them, and I found them pleasant, professional and efficient. Getting in touch with them was not particularly difficult either. On the less positive side, it seems like this facility has a very high patient to staff ratio. This makes things move slowly, which is somewhat frustrating. After four weeks, there had only been one change to her medications, and, though an improvement, the medications she is currently on are not helpful enough. Most importantly is that the facility does not have an effective plan for dealing with disruptive behavior. If your child gets upset and acts out, they are sent home for the day. One of the reasons my daughter is in need of psychiatric care is due to frequent conflicts with peers. After four weeks at Rock Springs Changes, she had found a peer to have conflicts with. On what was to be the first day of the IOP, she started to argue with her frenemy, and we were told my daughter was too upset and had to go home for the day. Someone, I think it might have been the office manager, told me that my daughter and I "had to have a serious conversation about whether she could handle this", this being the program or maybe the conflict. We decided that she could not; that is why she is in therapy, and withdrew from the program. Also, there is little help for finding transition care after one leaves Rock Springs. We got an email with some links that were generated by Psychology Today's website, so now we are scrambling to find continuing care. A bit disappointing.

Update: We finally received a call. The recommendation had expired and a new assessment was needed. The second time around went more smoothly and my daughter was able to enroll. There have been some great reviews, so… I'm hoping the experience improves. My daughter had an assessment and a program was recommended. I was told I would receive a call after my insurance was verified. After a couple of days, I called and the business office had already verified the insurance. Notes on my daughter's account said someone had called me and left a message offering my daughter a spot in the program, and I had 48 hours to accept. The person included their initials, but no name or phone number. I never got the call or the message. I have since called 6 times, been transferred, disconnected, and told several times that someone would call me back. Nobody I've talked to knows who the initials belong to, and I haven't received a call back. My 48 hours are long past, and I'm wondering if we just need to start the assessment process over again. My daughter has been eagerly awaiting placement in the program and we are both very discouraged, and a bit concerned about competency of the staff.

Terrible facility, staff is not at all helpful. They try to put your kid on meds they aren’t diagnosed with the mental illness they were diagnosed with. Was a terrible experience for my child. Some kid punched my kid… and my kid was kicked out and nothing happened to the other kid. Would give 0 stars if I could
