This place absolutely saved my life!! I loved it there. The people are amazing. Its a year later and I am just so blessed for this place
Remedy appeared to prioritize keeping beds filled over providing appropriate, individualized care. I was kept in residential treatment significantly longer than clinically necessary. A few months after discharge,… Admissions reached out to “check in.” I agreed to talk, assuming it was informal. During that conversation, they completed an intake assessment without clearly communicating that they were doing so. I had mentioned having a rough week (unrelated to eating disorder concerns), but overall I was stable and managing typical recovery ups and downs with my outpatient team. It was surprising and concerning to then receive a recommendation for residential treatment—something neither I nor my treatment team had considered appropriate. After I did not respond, Remedy called me over 20 times within about 10 days, along with repeated texts. This level of contact felt excessive and inappropriate, especially given that I had not expressed interest in returning to treatment-and clearly stated that residential was not needed or wanted. When I shared this with my outpatient team, they were alarmed given my stability and agreed that a higher level of care was not indicated. They also expressed concern that I may have been targeted as a relatively “easy” patient whose unrelated medical complexities could be used to justify a higher level of care. I have had prior experiences (including Remedy) where my medical complexity was used to support continued placement at higher levels of care, even when not clinically necessary. Because the repeated outreach continued, I had a friend contact Remedy to request that the calls stop as my attempts to set boundaries were disregarded. The outreach paused briefly, then resumed again weeks later. While boundaries were somewhat better respected the second time, the repeated attempts felt more like recruitment than clinical care. At one point, my outpatient team even suggested reporting the behavior (harassment) due to the volume and persistence of contact (I showed them my call history, so this was based on data not just self-report). I chose not to escalate it further, but the experience was uncomfortable and undermined my outpatient team’s clinical recommendations. I am honestly incredibly grateful I do not live in Florida as I fully believe Remedy would attempt to have me Baker acted as a way to attempt to get me back into their program-especially given the number of reported open beds in their facilities.
Remedy Therapy has meant so much to me over the past three months. When I first arrived, I was struggling deeply and felt completely consumed by my eating disorder. From the beginning, the team helped me face my fear of… food and supported me in rebuilding my relationship with eating, while also giving me the tools to improve my mental health. The staff truly make this place special. Courtney, Josh, and David have all been incredibly supportive and encouraging throughout my journey. Miss Kim and Miss Patti bring so much warmth and care to everything they do. And Jam has been the kindest nighttime tech I’ve ever experienced — always patient, compassionate, and there when I needed support the most. I’m so grateful for the care and dedication of everyone here.
Remedy Therapy truly changed my life for the better! I am forever grateful for support and help!
Remedy has saved my life!!! Truly I mean that with all my heart. I came in broken I had just lost my best friend to suicide and my eating disorder got out of hand. As once told to me the eating disorder voice was way… louder than my recovery voice. Since being here I have gained hope back and have a purpose to actually live, something I lost a long time ago and thought I’d never get back. I accept myself as is and now view food not as “healthy or unhealthy” but as food….food is food. I am beyond grateful for all the staff and the peers that were here while I was and there isn’t enough words to express my appreciation for them. Thank you remedy for helping me get my life back
Absolutely love this program. The best eating disorder program in south florida hands down. We appreciate your professionalism and care.
i've been a patient at remedy therapy for a little over three months and i depart tomorrow. remedy is truly a very special place and i am grateful for all of the staff and other patients i have met on the way. i have… been to so many treatment centers over the last decade and i will say they truly care about you here. never once have i felt unsafe because of anyone else. i will admit, i have not fully grasped the concept of recovery because i have not been fully ready for it but remedy has still supported me despite that and pushed me past my comfort zones. i had to learn to find comfort in the discomfort. remedy therapy is a place where healing truly begins. i would like to reiterate the fact that they truly care about you here. you are not just a number. amanda and jamie are the best dietitians i have ever worked with and you have amazing techs like ms. patti, jam, and jazz who see this job as more than just a job. i learned a lot about myself here. at remedy therapy, everything is individualized. therefore, they don't just slap a "one-size-fits-all" bandaid on your recovery. if anyone i know is struggling with an eating disorder, this is the place i would 1,000% recommend time and time again. to me, these people have become my recovery family. i've watched so many people come in struggling, myself included, and they walk out a completely different person. don't be afraid to reach out to remedy, they're just a phone call away. #beatingeatingdisorders
Very nice people. Very personable and professional. They are the best at what they do. Will recommend
Remedy therapy is a life saver truly. I have never felt so safe in a program. This place actually cares about your needs. The therapy here is really great and you can get a lot out of them shout out to Cheryl and… David. The dietitians work really hard to make this process as comfortable shout out to Jamie. Remedy puts their whole hearts into this job not because they have to but because they want to , they want to see you achieve your goals and have a life outside of the eating disorder. Shout out to Josh , Courtney,Jen ,Joanna ,Jo , jazz , Jamie , Patti , Steph for being my biggest supporter I don’t know what I would do without remedy I prob wouldn’t be here today. Thanks for saving my life remedy I truly recommend you go to this program I’m leave a better person. ❤️asandagirl
Going to Remedy Therapy was best decision I ever made. I went in feeling scared and alone, but left empowered and understood by the community as a whole. The environment was safe and fostered support like I've never… seen. Like any treatment center, it had it's difficult moments, but I learned so much from the experience as a whole- not only about myself but compassion for others as well. Leaving my life behind to commit to this program was hard, but so worth it. The house was cozy, the staff was always there to listen and push me in the direction I needed to go, and the people just get you like nobody else. I have nothing but gratitude for Remedy and would highly recommend to anyone looking to make a positive change in their life. Shout-out to Miss Patti for her unwavering love for anyone who is lucky enough to know her.
I absolutely love the place. The staff are truly amazing, caring, supportive, and always go above and beyond. The treatment center has made such a positive difference in my life. Courtney, Josh, Amanda and the rest of… the staff, I can’t thank you enough!
I am so unbelievably thankful for Remedy Therapy. They have been so helpful in my recovery. No matter what I was going through I always felt supported not only by the staff but my community. I truly gained life long… connections. I couldn’t be more grateful for the helped I received during therapy, group sessions and meeting with the dietician's. The staff at Remedy truly care about your recovery and help you every step of the way even after discharge. I know I can always reach out if I need help or resources. If you are looking for help for an eating disorder I highly recommend Remedy Therapy.
Here I found a community that is supportive and truly wants the best for me. Most clinical staff and techs were personable and engaging. A special shout out to Joanna and PJ!! Who really care about us on a deeper level… and truly advocates for us. The concerns I had that I brought up we taken care of swiftly by Danielle the head of the therapists and by Courtney the executive director. I truly appreciate each and everyone here staff and my peers alike. Being my first treatment center where I came in filled to the brim with anxiety, I fit right in and hit it off with nurse Stephanie. I definitely recommend it here especially for co-occurring conditions, trauma therapy and inner child work. The services being lead by the best therapists that I've been to. The education and deep dive in to the trauma therapy was exactly what I needed as my ED was a symptom of my trauma. I am incredibly grateful to have found the supportive environment I needed to begin my healing journey. Thank you Remedy Therapy!
Remedy Therapy Center for Eating Disorders is an outstanding and truly compassionate treatment center. Their team goes above and beyond to provide evidence-based care, emotional support, and a safe environment for real… healing. You can feel the professionalism and warmth from the moment you walk in. They offer structured, individualized treatment plans and a staff that genuinely listens and cares. For anyone struggling with an eating disorder or looking for a trusted place for a loved one, I highly recommend Remedy Therapy Center. Their commitment to recovery and long-term support is exceptional.
Remedy was my first experience at a higher level of care and a positive one. While it wasn't easy at times, the hard work I put into Remedy's program was worth it. It was a great first step in my recovery journey. The… staff there cares and I was able to feel heard even in difficult moments for me.
I had a very good experience the team is amazing and they are very kind and work with each person and even on my hard days they were very kind and helped me calm down when something happens they were quick to help me
Remedy Therapy was truly life-changing for one of my loved ones. The entire team showed so much compassion, professionalism, and genuine care throughout the recovery process. The environment is calm, supportive, and… focused on real healing — not just treatment. I’m incredibly grateful for everything they’ve done and would highly recommend Remedy Therapy to anyone looking for a place that truly cares about their patients.
Remedy Therapy changed my family member’s life. From day one, the staff made them feel seen, supported, and safe. The care here goes far beyond treatment—it’s truly healing on every level. Their combination of therapy,… structure, and holistic activities helped rebuild confidence and peace of mind. The kindness and dedication of the team gave our family hope again. I’ll always be grateful for everything they did.
i honestly wish i could fully explain how poorly managed this facility is. Sure there are some wonderful souls working there (Ms Patty i see you) but the overall communication is severely lacking. Not only did this… facility fall short on my therapeutic needs, but i was disrespected personally for my gender identity. The food was also an issue, a place where you're trying to get people to eat is not one that should serve anything that's lower quality than prison food. Not to mention the carelessness about food allergies i noticed on multiple occasions. I have Crohns and i was given foods that severely inflame me multiple times and am now dealing with the damage and consequences that caused. The only perk is that i didnt die. Also the beds are rly hard and i saw 2 cockroaches during my stay. -5 stars Post
When I first arrived at Remedy, I was sad, scared, and angry-angry that I was being forced to be there and scared/overwhelmed by the whole situation. Sad that I had to once again leave my life for treatment. I had hoped… for a calm, structured environment where I could begin to heal. Instead, I walked into an overcrowded, chaotic, and dirty house that only heightened my anxiety. The admissions process was disorganized and exhausting. The nurse who admitted me was anxious and visibly stressed, and the process ended up taking nearly five hours. her demeanor made it hard to feel safe or cared for. That first day set the tone for what was to come. For a facility that claims to be high acuity residential, Remedy was shockingly understaffed. Typically there was only one nurse, one tech, two therapists, and one dietitian-even less on the weekends. On multiple Sundays, the nurse was completely alone for the entire day-No techs, no therapists, no backup. This was unsafe for both staff and patients, especially given the complex medical and psychological needs of the patients--if one patient was having a mental health or medical crisis, the other 10 of us had absolutely no supervision let alone support. My therapist was, at times, verbally aggressive towards me in and out of session. Baker Acts were threatened whenever clients didn't comply exactly as expected. The lead dietitian was equally harsh, frequently raising her voice and once telling me, "I'm not dealing with this today." Staff called family members without releases of information and we were only allowed to call approved people on the landlines with staff supervision, so there was no way to ask for help when things felt so wrong. It felt more like prison-maybe a disciplinary camp or boot camp on a good day- than a trauma informed treatment center. Therapy lacked depth and individuality. the same few groups were recycled endlessly and sprinkled with "call out" groups where patients would all target one person and bully them. There was no real adaptation to patient needs. Medications were rarely given on time, which was serious given that there were people with T1D, seizures, and other very real medical diagnoses that needed immediate intervention. Meals were catered and often sat out far longer than safe food-handling guidelines allow. The food was also awful and not conducive to supporting eating disorder recovery. The living environment was unhygienic and poor maintained. The house was lazily cleaned once a week and consistently disgusting. Clients were often in visible distress--running away, being Baker Acted, Self-harming, refusing food, pulling tubes, yelling at other patients and creating drama, binging in the pantry, and purging in their rooms. The atmosphere was unstable and unsafe, and it never felt like anyone had control of the situation. Staff favoritism was obvious. Some clients were treated with patience, kindness, and often staff enabled their eating disorders with no behavioral expectations. Others were dismissed or criticized for the same behaviors. It was disheartening to realize that consistency and fairness (I know, life isn't fair...maybe equity is a better term than fairness) were lacking in a place meant to foster recovery. Overall, my experience at Remedy left me feeling worse even though I did decrease some of my ED symptoms and not better. It has led to me to making the decision to never return to a higher level of care. The chronic understaffing, lack of individualized care, poor hygiene, disorganization, isolation from supports, and emotionally unsafe environment all contributed to an experience that felt more traumatic than therapeutic. For a program that claims to offer high-acuity, evidenced-based treatment, Remedy fell far short of providing even the basics of compassionate, effective care.
The facility was supposed to be a safe place — a step toward healing — but it felt more like a trap. The air was thick and sour, like the walls had absorbed every cry and secret that was ever whispered inside them. The… halls smelled like bleach that couldn’t quite cover the staleness underneath. The lights buzzed overhead, too bright and too cold, making every shadow feel alive. Staff moved through the building like ghosts — some kind, most distant, a few cruel enough to make the nights unbearable. They whispered about patients, laughed when they thought no one could hear, and left people sitting alone when they needed help the most. The people who cared didn’t have power, and the ones with power didn’t seem to care. At night, the place came alive in the worst way — silence mixed with crying, doors creaking, someone shouting down the hall. Sleep never came easy. It was supposed to be therapy, but it felt like punishment. Every day blended into the next until time stopped mattering. The worst part wasn’t the dirt, or the noise, or even the fear — it was the hopelessness. The feeling that you could scream and no one would listen. That the place that promised recovery might actually be where hope goes to die.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Remedy Therapy to anyone seeking compassionate, comprehensive treatment for an eating disorder.
Unfortunately this place isn’t what it seems. I was in hopes that this would be a nice facility to help my friend recover while there all she heard was vile sexual talk between staff and clients. It’s extremely… unprofessional mechanism which this facility functions. The avoidance of any outpatient representative for specific clients by the clinical director by Daniella Devaron is highly unprofessional it’s sad. The nutrition that is lead by the dietician Amanda is one in which they allow clients to engage in behaviors and feed their disorder by providing clients sugar free, keto and other “healthy” snacks and food. The accommodations from the staff room to the kitchen were all unsafe. There were plastic bags in rooms of the clients. My friend reported first entering she noticed the detergent not locked up. There are just some basic 101s this facility didn’t practice. Although my friend pleaded to be transferred they refused to do so since it must be a blow to their pride and a thinning to money in their pockets.
I had a mediocre experience at the Remedy Center for Eating Disorders. Some of the staff were truly amazing—compassionate, knowledgeable, and clearly dedicated to each client’s recovery. Others played favorites. Their… approach to ARFID exposures was sometimes effective and somewhat abrasive depending on what mood the head dietitian was in. While might be effective for some patients, it may be best suited for those with both an eating disorder and a substance use disorder (something I don’t struggle with). If you’re seeking care solely for an eating disorder, especially ARFID, it’s worth discussing whether their dual-diagnosis focus aligns with your needs. Overall, I made it through over 4 months of residential but if I were to do it all over again-I would have gone with my intuition and admitted to a different treatment center. Admissions reached out to my dad without a release of information and convinced him they were the only program that could help me. They are quick to baker act and allow some patients to actively engage in behaviors instead of encouraging them to participate in treatment.
I got thrown into this facility even though I did not have an eating disorder. I ate all the food, btw the food here sucks. But I ate every meal with no issues and they still kept me there for a month just collecting my… insurance money. They didn't let me call or text anyone for over 3 weeks, keep saying I was in "blackout". Then my phone was taken by another patient who was being baker acted. This girl had my iPhone/Card/ID and was in Miami trying to spend my money. During this I was asking the place where my phone was and they told me it was "misplaced". My family got concerned because I was gone for longer than expected and I was not picking up any calls or responding to any texts. I was a missing person for a few days because of it. The police ended up calling Remedy. I was being pressured to give my information to the police when this was all supposed to be confidential. I am so happy I didn't. I somehow got my phone back and I was able to fly back home. But that place felt like prison. What I noticed about this place is when you have an issue and you call them out on it its not until u cuss someone out or the issue gets way bigger or in my case the police gets involved that they actually make an effort to do something about it. With that being said I did meet a lot of amazing people at this place, and the nurses were great. But the therapist's are manipulative as hell and will deny you are making any progress, just so you have to stay longer and they get more money. This place might be good if u have an eating disorder and you need a bit of structure in your life. I will admit eating proper meals everyday for a month did make my physique look pretty good, and I look healthier for sure. But that doesn't take away from all of the drama I went thru while I was there.
I so grateful to have. found Therapy Therapy. The staff goes above and beyond for every client and truly cares about your recovery. I would highly recommend Remedy. They saved my life!
