Super nice staff that actually cares
I was asking around about a place to go for my family dr and was actually not wanting to have to drive a long way to get to my dr.This place constantly was getting no recommedations from friends and family who use to go… there. The main complaints were callbacks and how many appointments were needed to get the help they needed. And that even getting prescriptions from the dr . in a timely matter was horrinle, some telling me they would be out of blood pressure and other important meds for days before habing to call numerous times back there to get it going.I decided to look elsewhere for my medical needs, they seem to be doing nothing in a proffesional standpoint right for the people I asked about them.
For context, I have been a patient here for ~1.5 years. I initially started seeing NP, Brianne Lantz, in order to re-start a medication I had taken previously. I have generally been happy with my visits with her. I feel… like she has taken the time to sit down & listen to me, and has been wonderful about letting me advocate what I believe is best for myself. I have no issues with this side of the practice. My concern is with the behavioral health side of the practice. About 6 months into my time here I started seeing one of their Master's level students, Ellis Nelson, for therapy. The therapy sessions initially demonstrated consistency and therapeutic benefit, with my first few appointments going well and contributing to rapport and engagement in treatment. During one session, I disclosed deeply personal information, reflecting a level of trust and emotional openness that is often a critical milestone in therapy. Following this disclosure, all subsequent sessions were cancelled, with the explanation that Ms. Nelson would 'not be available again until later in the month.' After the third time of this exact same scenario happening, I finally just stopped rescheduling. I'm disappointed because honesty and transparency are characteristics I look for in healthcare, and with the timing and sudden interruption in care—immediately after a significant disclosure—this has created a prolonged gap in treatment without continuity, or clear alternative supports. Overall, I would say the observable pattern of frequent appointment cancellations directly impacts client safety, emotional stability, and treatment outcomes, and highlights the importance of professional reliability, clear communication, and accountability in behavioral health settings. If you are looking for quality behavioral health treatment, you probably won't find it here.
I would like to start off by saying I’ve been a patient with them for 10 years now having said that the quality of his office has gone down tremendously in the past couple of years very unprofessional when it comes to… scheduling and calling back, which is bad for the kind of Medical treatment that I’m getting And I am currently in the process of switching to a new office. It’s very upsetting that a patient of over 10 years has A difficult time for something as simple as scheduling an appointment
Don't go to this clinic if u care about your health. These people don't care about u. Can't even get a call back after having cat scan of my brain 2 months ago and my condition is worsening. Had to find another primary… care to get any help. Good riddance
My husband sees Brianne Lantz at Rivervally health. She is very professional, and friendly. All staff is good. His name is Troy Ivy.
Half of the staff cares half of the staff doesn’t. I had an over the phone appointment at 12 PM EST and I have been waiting all day to get a prescription filled at a pharmacy. I have a viral bodily infection and the… doctors here seem to just take their sweet time. The communication or lack there of between the patient and doctor is super astoundingly unprofessional. I WILL be switching health care providers IMMEDIATELY.
Donna Kirk is an Awesome therapist and I would recommend her a thousand times over!
Caring and friendly staff.
My DR is amazing and Drs like her are the reason I've been a patient here for so many years
I've been going to Cherokee Health for about six seven years now and I continually stay impressed on the girls in the office they're so friendly whether you've been there one time or a thousand times they're so friendly… and respectful and just make you feel comfortable right off the bat. And that's in every office I've been to and I've been to them all. And the doctors take their time they listen they ask questions make sure you're okay before you walk out the door. They make sure you understand the diagnosis, procedure, or referral whatever before you leave the office.
Thank you for making me feel important and the respect you have for my healthcare . The staff makes me feel like my health is important and always trys to the scope of practice to go above and beyond to help me , thank… you again for all who helped me , I will miss Matt ,Wes they are the best
River Valley Health is a good place to seek help with various things. Health, mental health etc....
Best most affordable most professional that I have found highly recommend
Absolutely horrendous company. They do not care at all about anyone in this community. Do not go here. Do not support these absolute horrible people.
So far so good staff and doctors are extremely down to earth and helpful! If/When there is a problem or even a question about medication etc. you can message on the patient portal, or call. They will call you back with… a swiftness even if you miss their call they keep trying witch is helpful considering all the spam calls. I actually feel like my mental health is in the right hands to get me to where I need to go. I've been to alot of places so that means the world to me, and coming from me who didn't want any part of this process.
The staff of River Valley Health are compassionate and caring. They genuinely care about patients well-being. Would highly recommend this practice.
Fast and Im really impressed with the staff and Dr.Gent is amazing 👏.
Cherokee Health System is a great place for you and your family to go when you are sick and the staff is very nice and friendly and the Doctors are to
I was seeking a primary care physcian, I am new to the area. I made an appointment with Briann Lantz. Not only was she kind and caring, she listened and was professional. The staff in the office were also kind, caring… and professional. All around my visit was superb.
The new office is really coming together. My appointment with Wesley Singleton and the staff was very professional, courteous, listened and efficient. Thank you.
Dr Matt is the most caring and understanding Doctor I've seen in my life. I trust him and his recommendation 100%. If you want to be Cared for I recommend CHS.
I have been a patient there for long time , the Dr. Matt gent is a very good man , but the rest of the non experienced front desk employees are a joke with no experience or have common curiosity for the patient. I have… requested my own medical records for my attorney and I was reassured that was no problem I would have them I. Few days . Well here we are a week later and still I have nothing. I called and ask what happened, I was told I had to pay for my own medical records, there for if I had been ask for a payment at that time I would have. Not one soul said anything until I finally spoke with someone in a different state and want 25 dollars. I'm not paying for its mine and I have paid more than what I should over them many times iv seen the Dr. It's absolutely ridiculous.
I really love Cherokee health Clinton... Matthew Gent is great at what he does...
