My time at Rushton Recovery was honestly life changing in the best way. From the second I walked in, I was given a personalized journal and water bottle, which was such a thoughtful touch and really made me feel… welcomed and cared for. Ben deserves the biggest shoutout. Not only is he an amazing cook, but he is just an all around great person. He always took me to play pickleball and even let me pick fresh herbs in the garden to use with meals. Little things like that made the whole experience feel human and warm. The nurses here are extremely accommodating. Anytime I needed something, they were right there and genuinely wanted to help. Erin and Caroline always ran such great outdoor and interactive sessions. They kept things engaging and fun, and getting outside made such a difference for my mindset. The food was amazing. So nutritious, fresh, and they really listened to what we needed. They were always willing to accommodate grocery requests, which made a huge difference in feeling comfortable and taken care of. The pantry was always stocked and available 24/7, so I never went hungry or felt restricted. I also really appreciated getting 5 hours a day of phone access. Being able to connect with the world and my people while still focusing on recovery felt like the perfect balance. One thing that meant a lot to me is that you can leave whenever with no barriers or questions asked. You are never trapped here, which honestly made it easier to stay because I knew I was choosing it. I would recommend Rushton Recovery to anyone. The staff truly cares and it shows in everything they do.

Well put together establishment, with outstanding staff/administration and health care providers. The line of comfort, health and betterment of ones personal well being is unmatched. Inside, the facility is gorgeous, true luxury. My bedroom even had its own fireplace and steam shower, which made the entire stay feel both comfortable and restorative. The owners clearly put incredible care into upgrading the home’s interior design and creating a layout that supports healing, community, and peace. What really sets Rushton Recovery apart, though, is the people. The owners were there every single day, working hard, supporting us, and catering to whatever needs came up. Brandee, one of the owners, is amazing!! She would personally take people to haircuts, doctor’s appointments, etc. Her kindness and hands on approach meant a lot and it truly showed how much she cares to help people. The entire staff is exceptional! The are extremely professional, compassionate, and always quick to help with anything. The chef's food was also unbelievable. He would display the food as if you were at a Michelin 5 Star restaurant. I honestly never thought I’d say that I miss being at a rehab center, but I genuinely miss Rushton Recovery. I had the most incredible experience at Rushton Recovery. The staff is absolutely wonderful, and the owners, Brandee and Steve, are two of the kindest people I’ve ever met. They are constantly working—getting there… early, staying late—and they truly put patients first. They even share meals with us and play pickleball, which helped create a warm, supportive community rather than a sterile facility environment. Shoutouts to the whole team who went above and beyond. Jess is a rock star—she went out of her way to make everyone comfortable, took me to court, kept us stocked with tasty snacks, grabbed us soda and pizza, and was a fantastic friend. Donna is the sweetest nurse ever—empathetic, incredibly capable, and a jack of all trades. She’s an amazing chef, speaks multiple languages, and even came in on her day off to bake me a delicious apple pie. Dr. Khatiwala checked on me constantly; her attentiveness made a world of difference, and it was a thrill to learn she knew Dr. Bobby Mukkamala from my Flint political days. Erin Masek is a beautiful soul who crafted a solid workout plan and helped me rebuild my resume. I’m obsessed with her and strive to be more like her every day! Nick ensured I had enough time and support before discharge, and it was great to connect with a fellow musician and social worker. Shamonda and Josh kept things lively and informative—Josh’s smartass humor and Shamonda’s detailed Med Ed presentations had me laughing while learning. Willie’s energy—“Okayyyyyyyy! Alriiiiiight!”—and his gentle reminders about being mindful of phone time always stuck with me. Chef James, thank you for being so accommodating and for the magnificent meals. Rushton Recovery is the best of the best. I have been in Recovery for almost 20 years and have been to several rehabs throughout the years and Rushton is the complete package. The residence is spacious and comfortable.… Rushton is unique that they keep the community small, 10-12 clients at a time. This gives the clients plenty of time and space to focus on Recovery and bond with others. The entire staff is absolutely amazing and truly care. Nobody is simply there for a pay check, and it shows. The Nursing, Tech, and Medical staff are always available and helpful. Chef makes the meal experience one of a kind and is always willing to work with special diets and favorite dishes. The Clinical Team and Life Coach are very professional and, thanks to the smaller groups, able to give individual attention to the areas of Recovery needed most. The two owners obviously had a clear picture of what Rushton Recovery needed to be in order to hit all the notes, and they nailed it! Thank you Rushton.

Rushton is an exceptional facility to detox and work on relapse prevention. The staff philosophy is caring not shame. The wonderful large beds and freedom to be outside with nature walks and delicious food, you will not… be disappointed. No long med lines or horrible meetings in a stale basement with 25 others. My expectations were absolutely blown away by the whole experience. Thank you Rushton.

I decided to write a review of Rushton Recovery due to their excellent treatment of patients and other attributes I will highlight herein in brief. I was a client at Rushton at the end of 2024, and part of January 2025.… I have been to two other rehab facilities and both facilities have just over 100 beds and each daily average 90 clients. I was just a number at both, and there was no such thing as personalized care, and as a result neither helped me in my alcohol addiction. At Rushton, they have 12 beds and their desire is to limit the number of clients to 10 per day. As a result, the individualized care and treatment from Nick their therapist, to Erin their Health and Wellness therapist, and Donna their head nurse, is second to none. With the foregoing in mind, this does not even come close to the personalized attention you get from the owners Brandee and Steve, and others on staff, including but not limited to Jess, all the way down to their admittance gentleman, Anthony, and chefs. The cuisine is also 2nd to none. Each meal is presented to the dining room table, large enough to sit around 16 people, as the owners and some staff will also sit with the clients at many meals. Each plate is brought to everyone at the table, from starters, to the main dish, to desert if made that day. They have a gourmet chef on staff, including others that sometimes work in the kitchen, and everything is homemade and presented to the clients as though you were in a 5-star restaurant. The entire place is furnished professionally and the décor is absolutely stunning. Again, you will feel as though you are in a 5-star resort. I cannot say enough about Brandee, Steve, Jess, Donna, and others, as everyone will go out of their way every day to help and make you feel very comfortable in a way you cannot imagine. I highly recommend Rushton Recovery to consider on your journey to better health and lifestyle changes. Good luck in your recovery, as it has surely worked for me.

I cannot say enough about Rushton. It is absolutely amazing and transformative for all clients that have attended. Personally, with a past experience, I was turned off from in-patient. Rushton is a place, however walking through the doors began a wonderful and fantastic exerpience. The Rushton organizational synergy is aligned with one purpose in mind-client total self care. Working closely with the… staff, we created a highly individualized plan for my journey. As I grew in my recovery, my expectations and goals evolved. The staff at Rushton moved quickly and effortlessly to make adjustments to my treatment plan. The attention to detail within the Ruston house is mesmerizing. James the executive chef does, in fact, provide culinary therapy. Everything is individually prepared and made from fresh ingredients-no short cuts at Rushton. Erin, the Health and Wellness director provided me with a unique and insightful perspective completely outside the realm of 'normal treatment.' Her daily sessions were inspirational, helping me identify and create a roadmap for a new way of living. Rushton is truly a community, one that I am proud to to be associated with. Rushton is an oasis in the desert of addition.

Over the past 8 years I've toured some of the top-rated inpatient rehab facilities in the country, including Rushton Recovery. In my opinion, Rushton is among the best in the United States and in Michigan. While the… facility and property are beautiful, what really sets Rushton apart is its robust recovery process (they check all the important boxes), 24/7 onsite care, and post discharge / aftercare follow up (too few facilities do this). The excellent care and attention to detail starts with the ownership team (Brandee & Company) and extends down through to everyone on the Rushton team -- don't hesitate to send your loved one to this amazing facility. They'll be in very qualified, caring and capable hands.
