Salvation Army Harbor Light Center – Monroe is recorded as offering detox, residential treatment and intensive outpatient. One star is generous compared to the nasty attitudes of quite a few staff. This is sad for the families trying to get help or treatment for loved ones. What a shame
Harbor Light has good people, but they're being run into the ground by one toxic, outdated employee: Marsha. This is a warning — do not send someone you love here while she's on staff. Marsha creates a climate of fear… and anxiety for people who came seeking life-saving help. As a counselor, as a professional, and honestly as a human being, she is unfit for this work. I completed inpatient treatment and left sober — but also left carrying resentment toward an organization the world associates with compassion, because what Marsha put me through was emotional damage, not care. The reason I could even tolerate staying was that they allow cell phones. That's a low bar to call a saving grace. To be fair: Denise, Stacy, Jenn, Devine, the medical team, and counselors Winn and Olivia are the real backbone of this place. Sarah and Kim carry titles and authority that mean nothing the moment they're out of the room — because Marsha fills the vacuum. Harbor Light has real potential. Marsha is single-handedly wasting it
They do what they can to help especially in a tight spot, but the food sucks.
This place is absolutely inhumane and can’t believe it’s still open. Marsha, the lady who runs the place, is so horrible to the staff. Do not go here for help. They will just make you worse
Not a place to go when you're reaching out for help.
Always accepting patients, great staff. Nursing always cares about the safety of the residents. The only detox that accepts you as is immediately
My experience going there to get help was god sent. The staff, from the operations supervisor, to the aids, nurses, snd counselors were so kind and helpful to everyone in there. They always showed up in difficult times… and were a listening ear. I highly recommend it to anything to through drug or alcohol addiction. Thank you for help. ❤️🙏🏽
Good treatment center to build a foundation for your decision to get clean.
This place needs to be shut down, the nurses don't care let her patients wander outside all day cars coming and going, no ones getting treated here they are still getting the drugs they want
Three stars because of nurse Mandy and the nurse with the rainbow crocks (I'm sorry I forgot her name) They were SO nice. Some of the staff were really great while others were just outright mean. Detox was basically… easy. My big complaint was that after finding out I'd be moved into inpatient and forced to eat meals with 40 people, after explaining my agoraphobia and anxiety, they didn't do anything to help me. I went to the impatient area and was immediately yelled at by some lady dressed in all pink like I should know what was happening already. I wasn't there for 2 minutes. She was IRATE the second I arrived. How she was screaming at people was insane. I didn't even unpack. I needed more time there but it scared me so much that I left the facility right away. She basically ruined my treatment. I'm 42 years old and definitely didn't deserve to be yelled at by some crazy person who enjoyed demeaning people. She literally hurt my recovery. I'm going to a DV shelter tomorrow which I need but I also needed a few weeks at HL that I couldn't get. It's made me incredibly sad tonight. Go detox here but leave before you get screamed at in the inpatient area. I am truly saddened about this happening.
I loved being there I needed it for sure. Staff was compassionate and understanding therepist are amazing there
Couldn't recommend this place more, the girls treated me so well during my 5 day alcohol detox. Food was delicious as well!
Very impressed with the facility it’s very clean, they keep up with all Covid protocols, they make you feel welcome. I am very happy with all of the staff that I encountered during my stay and everything I got out of… it. Thank you harbor light. If you follow the rules and go there to really want change. You can make it happen anywhere especially here. Thanks again everyone at harbor light! Happy holidays to you all.
Thank you harbor light this place is like night and day compared to 2018 and before. Very clean, very supportive looks like a brand new facility!! Thanks to Jason, Greg and ALL supporting staff especially the nurses… station as they helped me in a very busy season in an emergency. THANK YOU for helping my family and I. I am forever grateful to this place.
i have severe back problems and this place has literal jail mats. my back has not hurt so bad in quite some time and i’ve only been here 12 hours. on top of that it is in a spooky ooky old nursing home and though i can… see someone’s vacuuming or doing something, it is overall filthy.
One of the best inpatient treatment I ever go! Food is great. Staffs are friendly. You can smoke ciggs on the schedule hour. I feel plenty comfortable staying there. To anyone who said bad stuffs abt this facility,… remember this place is 50x better than being on street or JAIL!! Learn to think, people.
Best selection I’ve came acrossed with good prices and the employees make you feel very welcomed not much more you could ask for
One star is being very generous. This place is awful. Food is a joke, the beds are horrible, and management is nonexistent. Rehab is supposed to help people through the worst parts of their lives. This is a glorified… prison.
It sucks super bad. Please don't send your loved ones there.
To anyone looking to get your loved one into somewhere for treatment, please don’t seek treatment here, because you will surely be let down. The things that go on inside this place are unspeakable, it’s completely… awful. I did not even want to give this god awful place one star.
They saved my life
I went thru 5 days detox here..the staff and the medics are sooo awsome...and they will do anything to help you get better...the building is a little rough around the edges and not the cleanest but over all i was happy… and im on my way to being clean again...thank you harbor light
I stayed here for a short period of time, and it was great place.
