Santa Maria Hostel Inc – Houston Address, Location and Contact Information
Records give the address as 2605 Parker Road, Houston, Texas, 77093. The city lies within Harris County. The site also serves the surrounding area, and anyone traveling in should confirm the route before setting out. Journey time and parking are not trivial details when treatment runs several times a week over months.
A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. Where travel is difficult, ask whether an initial appointment can be held remotely. Reception hours vary, so a call that goes unanswered once is worth repeating rather than treating as a dead end.

I would strongly caution anyone considering Santa Maria Hostel. I was abruptly discharged following a conflict with my roommate, yet I was the only one removed—even though she had prior issues with other clients. They… chose to take her word over mine without any real investigation or proof. This kind of favoritism seems to be a pattern at SMH. More concerning, I was denied my prescribed take-home methadone doses upon discharge, which put my health and recovery at serious risk. There was also no meaningful effort made to ensure continuity of care where I live. I was essentially thrown out with no support and set up for failure at one of the most critical points in my recovery. The lack of support from my counselor and case manager was extremely disappointing. There was little to no guidance, coordination, or follow-through when it mattered most. Many staff members treat clients with noticeable favoritism, and the level of disrespect from some of the techs is unacceptable and unprofessional. The only positive aspect of my experience was a small number of recovery coaches who genuinely cared and tried to help. Without them, I don’t believe the facility would be functioning at all. I chose Santa Maria because I was hopeful they would help advocate for me with CPS and support reunification with my baby. I was there for 40 days, and the only consistent effort came from my recovery coach—who I am truly grateful for. She went above and beyond and was one of the only people who made me feel supported. Unfortunately, CPS initially indicated that placement with my baby at the facility would be possible, but later reversed that decision due to internal issues with supervision and approval. After being given hope, that support was taken away. When I received that news, I was emotionally overwhelmed, which contributed to the conflict that ultimately led to my discharge. I was just 10 days away from reaching 60 days clean when I was discharged without the medication I depend on to prevent withdrawal, relapse, and overdose. Without it, I was placed at significant risk, and there appeared to be no concern for my safety or well-being. Overall, my experience was disorganized, unsafe, and deeply frustrating during a time when I needed stability, support, and accountability the most.
The staff is racist, incompetent and distasteful. During my stay, I noticed a visible red mark on my young son’s face. Staff did not inform me of this incident on their own. Only after I directly asked was I told that… someone had hit him. I was then prevented from formally documenting the injury, which I found extremely concerning. When a child is harmed, even accidentally, a parent should be notified immediately and allowed to ensure proper documentation. The resistance to transparency in this situation raised serious red flags. In addition, the assigned counselor Kathy repeatedly spoke to me in a dismissive and insulting manner, including questioning my abilities as a mother rather than addressing legitimate concerns. While this shelter claims to support women and children, my experience reflected an environment that was often hostile and dismissive rather than supportive. I repeatedly raised concerns about bullying and discriminatory treatment from other residents, only to have them minimized or brushed off by staff. Rather than being addressed, these concerns were treated as inconveniences. I also experienced repeated rudeness and exclusion during meal service, including being intentionally delayed or told to wait while others were served without issue. Over time, this pattern became difficult to ignore. What was most troubling was not a single incident, but the consistent lack of advocacy and respect shown toward me when I sought help. Vulnerable families deserve care, fairness, and basic human decency. Sadly, that was not my experience here.
So thankful for my Santa Maria Family. My sister was her about 3 times in 2 years. Every time we tried to get her admitted, we didn’t follow protocol and the staff always assisted us and she was always approved! The… staff looked out for my sister and niece, it takes a village and thank god for each and every staff member here! From the counselors to the security. I still updated them on my sister because I know they care for her. I never got to visit inside so no comment but i witnessed my sister get her own place, look healthier by the day and get employment. She a break and time to recover. Will always be grateful for their services.
I do not recommend. During my time there, I observed several troubling practices. Clients identifying as female but assigned male at birth were housed with women without clear protocols or communication. Access to… medical care was missing—I had to request help multiple times before being allowed to see a doctor, and there was no on-site nurse at the residential location/medication room, only at the affiliated clinic. No safety oversight, I observed bed bugs frequently, covid, etc. out of formula/no baby food. Favoritism is another problem. The 2 new lead counselors appear to prioritize certain clients—often those with previous personal connections. Following the recent closure of the Jacquelyn campus, there were widespread questions about whether the Paschall location was also up for sale. Management denied this, but public property listings indicate otherwise. A prior detox program was reportedly closed under questionable circumstances. If you send a loved one here make sure they know their rights ahead of time and have contact information for HHSC.
I attended Santana Maria Hostel It Changed My Life And My Daughter's Too It's My Miracle
The ladies here really care and I have seen the same workers here for a long time this place really helped me out God bless
Definitely can trust the women at Jacqueline someone stoke my clothes, shoes and personality hygiene items. It's ashame when u recovery and trying to deal with begin Homeless. I pray for those people because ppl never… know what the next person is facing
I called on 02/15 at 5:15pm. I had the rudest person ever to answer my call that was security. At customer service. I was at the Parker location looking for a patient that they apparently couldn’t find. I called the day… before and was given this info to come to Parker. However the patient said they were there and wanted me to pick up precious items. The security at Parker was very nice and helpful trying to locate. But the other location which she refused to give me her name should be FIRED immediately. Michelle initially answered the phone. She was nice. Whoever that other lady that seemed Caucasian was very very rude and unprofessional.
In my experience I have never felt so not wanted in a treatment facility ever I was there only a week but in that short time I was laughed at made to feel left out they where donating gifts to the woman and I was left… to just watch.i am 7 months pregnant and they wanted me to throw food away my family had ordered for me after I caught food poisoning from eating their food. But I didn't know this because I wasn't given one hand book or told the rules on outside food. Yes the Counselor Regina insisted I throw it out or I couldn't stay. I had just through all the food I had in my room fridge away because the doctor said to do so to be on the safe side. So I literally had nothing. I didn't make it to one group to even learn nor had I had a chance to meet with my Counselor Regina to go over these things. I say all this to say I'm 29 weeks pregnant sleeping outside I haven't went back to using but I think about it everyday and I know these people didn't give a darn about me or my recovery. The only reason I gave them 2 🌟 's is because of Mrs.Gail and a tech that went out her way to make sure I was helped. So it's Christmas I'm homeless fighting a drug addiction with no help. Thanks Santa Maria Hostal for tge false hope and nightmares I'll be under the bridge at research forest dr and 45. At least there I may can get a sandwich or two. Cause I certainly didn't get help from this place.
i would give zero stars if possible
Toook my wife here and they didn’t even have a counselor for her within a week and wouldn’t take her to her obgyn visits this place is horrible. Go to therapy without a state funded place that don’t care about nothin… but there checks. Worst place ever if u want help
This place changed my life!
I feel like my daughter was discriminated for being mental ill, she was asking me for help and found this place but they sent her to the mental hospital where she was evaluated and dismissed the same day. My daughter… was sent to the mental hospital alone in a cab and end up lost in Houston at 3 o clock in the morning. I felt that she was put in danger instead of getting help. When we were driving home my daughter got very sad and said Dad "They don't want me there". I do want to mention that Heather was very helpful and went above and beyond to help us. When we were driving home my daughter got very sad and said Dad "They don't want me there".
I have a question mabey one of you wonderful lady's can answer for me .my wife just arrived there and I was wanting to know when she can call home and how many times a week she will get to call home or how many times a… week they allow you to call home ....thanks in advance lady's
I had a great experience here. I learned how to structure my life and deal with any obstacle without using. I've been in recovery since 3-14-23 I stayed at Santa Maria for 115 days. I'm so proud of my accomplishments… and because of Santa Maria I'm in recovery and have my son. I can't ever give thanks enough to the staff at Santa Maria for caring for me when I didn't care for myself. UPDATE in two days I've been sober a year now!!
My life was unmanageable. I was losing hope and struggling homelessness. Santa Maria gave me hope and support. I was able to address my childhood trauma, which was freeing. It allowed me to learn healthy coping styles… and aid in strengthening my knowledge about mental illness and the linkage of my addiction and how they are interconnected. Today, I can live life on life terms. Today, I choose me. The staff is amazing. Thank you, Santa Maria! You have become my family!!
The security woman was just sitting there didn’t care about what we wanted and we came from orange tx to Houston to get away from a bad situation and she told us to leave and threatened us and didn’t want to help us😢
THIS ENVIORMENT IS HOSTILE AS WELL AS CONFORMIST MENTALITY. IVE HAS REPEATED PROBLEMS WITH MS PAULET SHE DOESNT KEEP HER WORD SHE ALWAYS TALKS DOWN ON ME, ANOTHER THING IS THAT SHE IS QUICK TO SAY YES TO SOMETHING THEN… TREAT ANYONE LIKE A CHILD AND TELL THEM NO. AS AN ADULT THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, EITHER GET ON THE SAME PAGE AS THE PEOPLE SUPPORTING YOUR PAY, OR TRY SOMETHING NEW LIKE A CAREER CHANGE. NOT RECOMMENDED
Great place to start your recovery journey. This program saved my life! I went to treatment here in 2019, and 2022. The first time I was court ordered and went through the motions but did not get honest with my… counselor or myself. They helped me to get housing and I stayed sober for 6 months but went back out. I nearly lost my life back in the streets and returned with nothing but the clothes on my back. I was ready and willing to get uncomfortable and honest, and take the suggestions. I found freedom here. The staff were strict but encouraging. They are passionate about helping others and many of them are in recovery. That part actually inspires me to set goals to further my education and maybe return some day as a tech, or maybe even recovery coach, Lcdc, or RN. The classes empowered me with life skills and knowledge of the 12 step programs that are helping me change my life. They gave me clothes, food, a safe place to sleep, and a recovery coach to help me when I completed the program. They even helped me get medical and mental health services as well as outpatient treatment and sober living housing to support me as I continue to recover. SMH helped me find the courage to start living again. I was numbing my feelings and existing in despair and misery. If you are ready to change your life and need help getting clean reach out to them. They can help you. I have been in recovery since 10-20-2022. Thanks to Santa Maria my life has truly been changed. Ignore the low star reviews from addicts not yet ready to start recovering and willing to do what it takes. It's no resort or cake walk but it is safe and won't cost you anything. It just might save your life if you are ready!
In October 2019 I was introduced to Santa Maria. Through Recovery Support Peer Specialist, Recovery Coaches, and all the staff there my life went from being destined for death to almost 5 years clean. I'm grateful for… the opportunity to share my story and who helped me along the way. I will definitely recommend Santa Maria for women and women with children. It will only work if the person trying to get help is willing, but if they are ready then their whole lives can change for ther better.
If it wasn't for these amazing ladies and Santa Maria I wouldn't have my son! Its been 6 yrs since ive been there, but they made such an impact on my and taught me tools that I still use to this day! I'm still clean and… still have my son. Thank you ladies and wwc!!!!!!!!
If you look at all the 5 states reviews they are all years old! Meaning since years ago this place has gone downhill.. no it is far very far from what their website shows or treatments they afford. Read the bad reviews… they are true… free once again ppl say you get what you pay!! You don’t pay nothing you get nothing!!🤭🤭
