Sunrise Detox II – Stirling Address, Location and Contact Information
1272 Long Hill Road, Stirling, New Jersey, 7980 is the address held. The city lies within Morris County. The catchment reaches beyond the city itself. Public transport, parking and the length of the journey all affect whether someone completes a course of treatment, and they are worth settling before the first appointment rather than after.
A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. Remote appointments may be possible where travel is a barrier. Reception hours vary, so a call that goes unanswered once is worth repeating rather than treating as a dead end.

The lady on the phone was super short with me. & also hung up on me. Just cause I wanted to lower doses on my medications. 👎💩
It’s now called Bold Steps. Let me start off by saying I had maybe one session with my “counselor” in the 3 weeks I was there. Groups are repetitive and mundane, there is not a nurse on sight and even if there is your… meds will take days to get there. The place is falling apart. Techs on overnight sleep on the couch and don’t do rounds, which holy cow anything could happen and they wouldn’t even know till morning. Oh and don’t forget the bugs. Do. Not. Go. Here.
Sunrise cherry hill was a godsend. The nurse Sydney is absolutely the sweetest person you'll ever meet. I went there over a year ago and and she remembered me and made sure my stay there was comfortable. Unfortunately… I've stayed at quite a few other facilities and NEVER was treated with such respect and kindness that she treated me with. She deserves a raise lol! On the other hand..I made a very good friend in my time staying there..we kept in touch and we were both struggling. I was trying to be a good girlfriend and put my own health aside waiting waiting for him. I now know know that I need further assistance than just detox . He's not even. Being a decent human being/and/or being nice about it. I tried called the Sterling location 5 times where my friend is. She told me there is in IN FACT beds available but the person on the phone wasnt so friendly..almost demeaning. He said "just because there's beds available doesn't mean there's beds available". I was very confused...almost like he didn't want to help me save my life. And he was just annoyed to be answering the phone. He told me over and over in an annoyed and stern voice as I was in tears to call back at 9am. Im just lucky im not someone who is WAY more fragile and sensitive amd nothing terrible happened 🥺
If I could make this place zero stars, I would. The nurses and some technicians (Nana and Brian) were great, however, the counselors (Carolyn, and Steve) had no idea what they were doing, and the “clinical director”… left the staff with nothing (phone cards, money cards.) I understand why this place has filed for bankruptcy.
Been to the hospital 3 times ln less than a week the staff is ok it took me 2 almost 3 days to get my meds it's in a nice area my blood pressure kept going high I realized I only did 5 days in detox for alcohol which is… not enough time on top of them having all salty foods I wouldn't go back here because this place was so unorganized they need more staff a nurse on call 24/7 I just left a few days ago my blood pressure was the highest when I was here I would definitely not go back there ever
Supportive and non judgement staff at Brentwood location. Very clean and group sessions were great. They truly make you feel like a human being a person. I would absolutely recommend this place.
It pains me to have to write this review, In March my 18 year old daughter admitted herself , without consultation from My wife and I. My daughter was told she had to pay 1000.00 to meet her deductible. My daughter… payed. My daughter only stayed 4 to 5 hrs tops - and I was promised 500.00 1/2 of what my daughter payed. It is so sad to say - I have been getting the runaround , being told first - they could not refund to my daughters card , then They said they will cut me a check, never received teh check. I called back over 3 weeks agao - and I was told they were sorry and cutting me a check that they never did. I was told it will take like two weeks. I called back today - I cant even get teh gentlemen on teh phone to talk to me. Next step is my laywer - here they were suppose to help my daughter - instead they helped her by taking her savings... CROOKS!!! Watch your back!
Absolutely the best facility and most caring people I’ve ever come across. Shout out to everyone at the nurses station for holding it down for me when I was at my lowest. I am not a fan of any facility whatsoever but… these guys genuinely do it right. Can’t thank y’all enough. Best nursing staff ever
Very unprofessional staff , did not have the right medication for my detox . Place is unreliable due to staff not caring for their clients basic needs with rooms and my property has been missing do not recommend at all!!
My most important medication was left in the safe. Then after being treated like an inebriated child all weekend all of the sudden I was to blame! Don’t go here unless u want to feel enraged :)
I was real nervous to come here at first, but the staff made it real comfortable for me real fast! Clara is a godsend and such a beautiful soul kept checking in on me every time she came in for her shift kept telling me… “you can do this, one day at a time” Jen and Glen the nurses were amazing, also all the techs were real cool def made you feel good, if you need any help def check out sunrise in stirling! You won’t be disappointed, thanks again guys you changed my life love you all!
My experience in this facility went above and beyond what I hoped it would be. The entire staff was courteous, respectful & sympathetic with my extreme alcohol withdrawal. I will forever be indebted to the amazing… people. Even the Chef’s were therapeutic. I loved my experience here. Thank you to all the staff at Sunrise!
They lied about being able to use the phones. There are no phones available here. If you want to communicate with friends and family don’t come here.
Sunrise Stirling NJ. It’s a mixed bag. This was my second admission in a couple years. Everything was positive for the first 4 days out of my 5 day stay. The general day to day staff (nurses, tech’s and even the… housekeeping crew) was very friendly and gave me the respect and treatment that made me feel like I was in the best facility for my needs. It felt a bit professionally loose feeling. But regardless the staff eventually provided what I needed to want to stay. The “tech’s were also hit or miss. There is a massive employee turnover with the “techs”. (A couple employees confirmed it. Told me the stories) So most of that staff felt like they were learning while on the job. Some were 20yrs old to late 20’s Nothing wrong with being young. But I still felt that they were thrown in to the deep end of the pool. There were a lot of blank faces when basic questions were asked. I have to call it OUT!.Sunrise confiscates your phones and money/wallets/purses/watch… or anything they deem dangerous or detrimental to your treatment. Two staff members (different departments) told me Sunrise will let you keep your phone for an extra $1000 (no typo) day but they can only use it in a private room. I found this out when I passed by a room with a patient on his phone. And again walking down the hall seeing a woman on a cell phone. The man actually was scolded in the cafeteria because he had his phone with him. I felt like it was supposed to be kept a close secret not to offend anyone without $1000. So. It really stunk when you bonded with a nurse they were replaced the next day. Nurses were funny. Personable. Really great. The Nurse Practitioner in charge of meds did not spend enough time with me (or anyone I spoke with) discussing medications. Spoke to me for less than 1 minute and he made med and dosage decisions. I only saw him once in 5 days. That’s nuts to me. Feels like he just floats between facilities. Felt like that’s standard practice. Than the councilors. Totally random assignments. You can get a great one. Or an unqualified (with a degree I think) one (IMO) with what feels like a god complex. Starts with Z and ends with a yak. This is one of few councilors that really does not understand addiction (in my opinion). I think he read a lot about it. But his experiences in addiction are all theoretical. In 5 days I spent less than a total of 60-70min but he thought he had me pegged and was totally condescending and flat out rude to me. When Z held a group meeting patients were literally flat out head on the table asleep. Z is a fluke at Sunrise. The other councilors were upbeat and enthusiastic about the message of sobriety . I believe Z would fit perfectly as a high school disciplinarian or vice principal. Not a counselor. Again this my my opinion and experience. And I’m not saying that as an insult. It’s just a better fit. I do have a axe to grind (on my end of 4th to 5th day) on the compartmentalization of the staffing. One knows anything about what the other is doing. There was a ton of “I don’t know. Ask someone else”. Especially when I was being discharged. It was unreal. Sunrise has provided transportation to and FROM their facility 3 times in my family in the last 4 years. My randomly assigned councilor (Z) told me Sunrise would NOT be providing me with transportation home. “Frankly you are going back to a toxic environment. And we will not provide you with transportation.” In a small amount of time Z decided to basically strand me. With no recommendations of where I should go. We had a back and forth with other councilors in the vicinity. Other councilors wouldn’t speak up. After I walked away 2 councilors spoke to me in private and told me they did not agree with Z but there’s nothing they can do without undermining him. I did ask Z if he’d give me a ride home. See it for himself. He declined. $70 Uber later and I’m home. Great first 4 1/2 days even with the things I criticized. Hope you made it through the review!
Worst detox I’ve ever been to I left early. Was misgendered daily . The only People there worth it was the nursing supervisor and Keith .
mostly great staff. nurses at the desk are great. the nurse practitioners in charge of meds totally dont spend any time with you discussing medications. I got about two minutes with mine and unfortunately they combined… gabapentin and lyrica in my system which made me extremely sick and suicidal for weeks and weeks after leaving this place and led to me relapsing. so it defeated the whole effort before we even began.
Terrible, detoxed my friend off of benzodiazepines in 5 nights, six days. Lawyers and doctors were in shock. Been suffering since although Sunrise claimed it was appropriate. Every other treatment center agreed that it… is impossible to detox off benzodiazepines that quickly.
Hello, my name is John L. I’ve been to all three Sunrise Detox locations in NJ. Stirling is by far the best when being compared to Tom’s River or Cherry Hill. The staff at the Stirling location are very accommodating… and approachable. I’ve been to Sunrise Detox (all three locations) a total of 13 times in the passed 7 years. My most recent experience I actually escaped from the facility twice in three days. They let me come back the first time, the second time I decided not to stay. This had nothing to do with Sunrise, I just had a job interview lined up that I could not miss. But I would recommend Sunrise Detox in Stirling above any other facility in NJ. I’ve been to state-funded places like Merryville, New Hope, Discovery, Integrity House. All of the aforementioned facilities are not even in the same tier as Sunrise. Other detoxes treat people like cattle, they just shuffle them in and out, not a care in the world. When I was at Bergen Regional Detox the nurse literally forgot to give me my me my detox medication and no one checked in on me for 16 hours. That would NEVER happen at Sunrise. The food is great, the beds are comfy, you can smoke throughout the day, you get to see a counselor every day. (Most facilities you see a counselor maybe once or twice every couple of weeks) The staff, nurses, and counselors actually CARE about the patients in Sunrise. They WANT you to get better, which in my humble opinion, is quite rare within the recovery industry. I overdosed in 2015 in the parking lot at Sunrise Stirling, a tech ran outside and Narcanned me. He literally saved my life. Sunrise at Stirling really is incomparable to other facilities. If you need help, I urge you to come to the Stirling Sunrise Detox Location.
Do not go There!! It went so down hill!! Terrible!! I was there last winter there was no heat! I was so cold and so very uncomfortable! It’s good if you smoke a lot. There was a time when they had great employees! John… oversaw everything he was great and so caring, there was a great male nurse and others , they are not there! Food is yuk, not the cooks fault! I saw an older women who fell out of bed crying in pain on the floor and no one helped her!!!!!!! I told them !!!!! Nothing! BUT… it’s a place it was great at one time. Thank god I am sober and don’t need that! Detox ! They need to replace a nurse the big fat one! She prolonged giving me detox medicine because she said “ you talked bad about me so I didn’t give you the Adavan for a long time! I tried to talk to the counselor about it. It’s a bussiness and like cattle I was pushed along. One big thing I forgot to say is I have COPD and brought my own nebulizer and medicine, they would not let me use it!! And to top it the nurse reported to my insurance company that I was abusing my inhaler ( Albuterol) insanity! My primary doctor and blue cross thought this was crazy and abuse! They tried to keep me from holding my rescue inhaler. But if you need to detox please go do it! Anywhere even here
There's this girl kristin popovich who works there she discloses everybodys information I try to complain but they don't do nothing
This place has saved my life so many times. All of the Staff has become family to me. This is the only place that feels like home to me. Concetta worked tirelessly to bring back the severed relationship between my… mother and I that was almost lost due to my addiction. I couldn't be more grateful for having my recovery begin here. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The nursing staff is very accommodating in making the detox process as comfortable as possible. Very comfortable beds and a great cleaning staff that cleans and makes your bed daily. The environment is very relaxed with informative groups and smart TVs for music heads like me. I Couldn't recommend this place enough to people looking to start their recovery process in the most comfortable and stable way possible.
My name is Joseph Mangini and I was recently a patient at sunrise detox in stirling New Jersey. Not only has my stay here been pleasant and enjoyable but the staff members Kara service coordinator and Darren clinical… director went above and beyond to help me. I came in with no insurance and I left with the best health coverage that got me into incredible long term treatment thanks to them. I have experienced positivity and motivation to help me want to get better and have a better view of what my recovery will be like upon my journey moving forward. Highly recommend this place and make sure to ask for Kara and Darren for all the help you can possibly need. 5 stars all around.
Staff has been wonderful since the moment I came in. I was very unsure of how it would be when I arrived but I was pleasantly surprise by how supportive the environment was. The remainder of my stay has been nothing but… great and my counselor was awesome! Highly recommend.
Stirling location is the best sunrise location by far. The service coordinator and director of nursing along with the nursing staff really care and want you to succeed.
I only put 1 star because they detoxed my brother off of alcohol. Con's he went with his meds for BP and Thyroid problems and yet he wasn't given them until he was clear headed to complain. Opps, sorry. They picked him… up from Brooklyn, NY and his counselor - Zachary said they were too busy to send him home. I had to call the admissions office to resolve this problem. Thank you to Russell in the admissions office. I'm sure that Zachary is the exception to the rule. There are always bad apples, but most are good. He also did not set my brother up with after care. We'll help him. I myself have been thru recovery and have places I can call.
Great place if your in need of help properly the best spot to go 10/10 would recommend
Best detox in NJ ! Staff is amazing and facility is comfortable . John ( service director ) is impeccable . Would return hope I don’t have to !!! Always !
