Sunrise Services Inc – Bellingham Detox and Rehab Services

The register shows Sunrise Services Inc – Bellingham providing intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Structured outpatient runs to a schedule while people return home in the evening. Which of these is appropriate depends on an assessment, not on what sounds manageable at the time.

Both conditions are treated in parallel, which is what the research supports. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

Paulette Carter, a psychiatrist working for sunrise told be verbally to double my dose each time we had a visit. She wrote in my file and to the pharmacy a much lower dose, as you can imagine, i ran out of medication… quicker than the pharmacy could fill, i went into withdrawl, migraines, fever, elevated heart rate and blood pressure, i couldnt drive or see. Had to be driven to my pcp who refilled my meds as verbally prescribed by paulette and told me to seek a new psychiatrist. The medical director would not let me see a different psychiatrist as in her words "it seems like a big miscommunication." No. It was malpractice. Waited over a month to be seen by a therapist over video, was instead made an intake appointment with an "assesor" named Teresa Williams. Teresa showed up 21 minutes late to the appointment with a pixelated camera and no audio. I called the office for help and when they answered they told me I would need to wait another month for a new appointment and that Teresa was having problems with her videocall equipment. Unprofessional, uncaring, and unintelligent are 3 words that best describe this "behavioral health service". Disgusting.

David has worked with me on overcoming severe PTSD symptoms and has helped me figure and develop strategies to change my ADHD habits into a better ones. I’ve learned to self regulate with his patience and consistency. I… am able to manage my home life stressors with confidence instead of fear. I’m very fortunate to have him as a therapist. Today I get to be the best version of myself because of the work we have done together.

I am incredibly picky with counselors. I went to school to be one. I do not agree with some of the things that they are taught and how to be, but I can tell you right now, when you find the right counselor for you, it… is life-changing.! Ryan E. Has been the biggest help with the amount of drama I have going on in my life. not everyone can handle this, but he has been handling this so well for me with his unbiased nature and full support for me. It is incredible! I call him Superman quite often because he is my Superman right now!

My Therapist and Prescriber saved my life. My Case Manager, who is helping me find housing, is amazing, too. The Front Desk Angel is so nice, so understanding, she reminds me of my daughter. Thanks to her, I arrive with… a smile. I am a US Army veteran who has lived through many traumas, and I am finally able to process all of it. When I am unloading some emotional burden, my therapist understands and supports my anger and grief. It's made it easier for me to take an honest look inside and finally achieve healing. I'm not done yet... Rome wasn't built in a day... but I'm making amazing progress (my therapist's words, not mine). Since my meds started working, I have not thought about ending myself. I feel like a new person who still has some painful memories to uncover, but I'm a new person, and I know I can do it. I recommend Sunrise Services to anyone, especially veterans like me. You will feel loved and appreciated at every step, and you will see your life improve.

Sunrise Services has a staff of people who know their stuff. I haven't clicked with a mental health provider so well in my life. My therapist is intelligent, compassionate, and invested in my personal progress. I love… seeing her! The receptionist is also extremely kind and professional, I always have a pleasant experience with her whether it's over the phone or in person. Thank you!

My wife and I both have attended Sunrise for mental health services for years now. And whereas they've helped us make some progress with our various mental issues, they've also been very insufferable and unprofessional… in many ways, and it's getting to the point where we'll likely soon be looking elsewhere for the help we need. For one, we've switched mental health counselors at least 3-4 times each, and usually because the people they hire don't typically end up working there long before leaving. That's their choice of course, but for us having to basically start over our treatment every so often, it's been making it really hard to make actual progress. Not to mention a couple times we've been put with very unprofessional counselors who either have no idea what they're doing, or are just not very nice people. It's not a common thing, but it's happened enough to be noteworthy. Then there's the fact that their front desk receptionist workers seem to be a revolving door, there's always someone new every few months because someone else quit or got fired. And their hiring standards for the receptionists is not great. There have been ones that are just fine, but many have no clue what they're doing and will schedule appointments at wrong times, never answer the phones or give callbacks, or move around your scheduled appointments without telling you. This often results in appointments being missed, sometimes for weeks or even MONTHS at a time! This place has nice people who, more often than not, mean well and want to help. But the unreliability of the scheduling and the constant turnover of employees results in an often chaotic environment that results in slow, or no progress in mental health treatment and recovery. And obviously for people like us suffering from debilitating mental instability, that's just not okay when we are not getting the help we need. Edit/update: I've increased the review score because for the past few months it feels like Sunrise has taken measures to improve the quality of their service. My wife and I have been talking to regular counselors for some time now, our prescriber is the sweetest lady on the planet, and they've actually kept the same front desk receptionist for some time now, and she has been pleasant to talk to and doing just fine at her job. If this keeps up, I'll be raising the review score more over time
