State Funded Rehab Centers in Washington

State-funded rehab in Washington is substance use treatment paid for with public dollars instead of private insurance or savings. Licensed providers hold contracts with the state to deliver it. The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery, part of the Washington State Health Care Authority, oversees the funding. For residents without coverage, the Washington Recovery Help Line at 1-866-789-1511 is a common first call.

The programs listed here say they accept state funds or other public payment. Our details come from government treatment registers, state licensing records, accreditor listings and the information providers send about themselves. Ask each program about current openings before you travel.

Common questions about State Funded Rehab

Answered from what is listed here.

Which Washington cities have state-funded rehabs?

State-funded rehab listings in Washington cluster in Spokane, Tacoma, Longview, Yakima and Bellingham, in that order. Programs paid for with public money show up in these communities more than elsewhere in the state, from the eastern side around Spokane to Bellingham in the north.

Anyone living near Seattle, Tacoma or Spokane, the state's larger cities, can also look across nearby towns for a publicly funded program with an opening.

Do state-funded rehabs in Washington take Apple Health?

Apple Health is taken by nearly all of the state-funded rehabs in Washington, with coverage running through the managed care plan a member is enrolled in, such as Coordinated Care of Washington, Wellpoint Washington or UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Washington. Those integrated plans cover physical and behavioral health, including substance use disorder treatment.

Rehab Centers in Washington That Accept Apple Healthhttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/washington/apple-health/
Are there state-funded rehabs near a river in Washington?

From a listed facility, the nearest river is a median of about 5.6 miles away, and nearly all of the state-funded rehabs in Washington sit within 25 miles of one. The most-named rivers are the West Branch Little Spokane River, the Sammamish River and the Duwamish River.

How does state-funded addiction treatment work in Washington?

State-funded addiction treatment in Washington works through contracts with licensed providers, which the state pays to treat people who cannot afford care. The money is federal and state funding managed by the Health Care Authority. Its Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery administers the federal block grant for addiction prevention, treatment and recovery services, and state funds add to that support.

Opioid settlement money goes into Washington’s Opioid Abatement Settlement Account. That money can be spent on opioid remediation only after the legislature appropriates it. A settlement headline therefore does not mean new treatment slots have opened up locally.

Publicly funded care is meant for low-income residents without insurance, or whose plan leaves the needed care uncovered. No single income cutoff is published; intake staff screen for income, household size and other coverage, and questions about immigration status are handled differently from one program to another.
