The Center – Edmonds Detox and Rehab Services
What The Center – Edmonds offers, on record, is intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Structured outpatient runs to a schedule while people return home in the evening. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.
Combined treatment is not recorded, which is worth checking before committing. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

The Center – Edmonds Reviews and Ratings
Personal accounts of The Center sit in this section. Patterns across several reviews, such as repeated comments about communication or waiting times, are a better guide than any single account.
I had an amazing experience at the Center. The staff treated me with so much dignity and respect. I learned so much in the classes and the therapists were outstanding
The Center saved my life, and changed my life forever. I have never felt so cared for as I did here. The structure is just like it was in school— and the housing reminded me of dorms! And the housing is free, so it… allows you the opportunity to start fresh. The sense of community paired with the support of the staff makes a difference. I was actually sad to leave! (Also, being 5 minutes from the ocean…so worth it haha) For those struggling with addiction (EDs, Alcohol, etc) this is the place to go.
It has been one year since completing my journey at The Center. The Center-A Place of Hope exceeded all my expectations when I sought help for my mental health. I felt seen as a person and felt genuinely connected to… the staff and fellow patients. I extended my stay and completed 5 weeks. I never imagined the healing I experienced. I am grateful for my experience and opportunity to focus solely on myself. Housing was fantastic and the whole-person care was remarkable. I highly recommend for anyone who is wanting something different than in-patient treatment!
The Center has been an oasis to me. This was my second visit (first in 2018). I needed a 2nd immersion. The staff is second to none. The Center exemplifies a warm and caring environment. I felt valued and supported. I… highly recommend the Center as a flagship treatment center for all!
I am honored to share the experience I had at The Center A Place of Hope, particularly the long-term impacts it has had on my life. My first day at The Center was October 9, 2023 – that was 1,000 days ago. I am proud… to share that the skills I learned at The Center have provided me with long-term growth and healing. I attended The Center for PTSD, a complex eating disorder, depression, anxiety… you name it. My mental illness consumed my life. I went from being a vibrant, competent Neonatal ICU nurse to a shell of a human. Trauma had left me with debilitating PTSD. When my husband found The Center, I was at the end of my fight; I didn’t think anything could help. I am so grateful to say that I was wrong. The Center didn’t just save my life; they showed me that I was capable of healing in a meaningful way. They gave me hope for a life filled with value and worth. Something I never imagined was possible after the trauma I had experienced. Healing isn’t easy. It isn’t quick. The more painful the journey, the more powerful the healing. I promise that if you show up, the staff at The Center will work harder for you than anyone I have ever encountered in the medical field, let alone the mental health field. The staff at The Center is unlike anything I could have imagined. They truly care for your heart, for your soul. The work they are doing is sacred. For the last 5 years, I have trudged through misery. On this side of Heaven, trying to find meaning in your pain will drive you mad. But I can tell you this with my whole heart: if just one person goes to The Center and experiences healing because of my testimony, then my pain and trauma have served their purpose. I would not take back what I have had to go through if it means that just one person gets the opportunity to heal from their suffering. Whatever you are struggling with, no matter how severe or how “normal” you may think it is, there is healing for you at The Center A Place of Hope. You are worthy of healing, and I promise, healing is possible, no matter how much you believe that it isn’t.
The Center is in one word: legit. They model professional excellence and truly care about providing the best for each person. There's a wide variety of clients who are drawn here, and all of them are treated as… individuals. It doesn't appear as if any two people even have the same exact schedule because the staff tune their availability to your particular needs (keeping in mind that you might not even know what you need). Finding a place for assistance with trauma or spiritual or mental health can be a daunting experience. I have a degree in psychology and a PhD from a top-notch university, so I'd know in a second whether or not The Center was a sham-- and it's definitely no joke. I'd recommend it without reservation for anyone who is willing to ask for help. Accepting what The Center has to offer is not a magical "fix-it" button; however, there is still something more than simply "therapy" happening there...
The staff at the center is very caring, supportive, and knowledgeable. It is a great environment both at the facility and in the town of Edmonds. I would highly recommend the center for anyone looking for treatment. I… left with hope for the future, a better understanding of myself, and skills I will use for the rest of my life.
This is the kindest, caring and helpful place I have ever been. They truly care about you with an entire team of amazing people behind you! I have never gotten this amount of help ever for dealing with mental health,… physical health, and overall well being. They truly have a whole body treatment. I finally have hope in my life thanks to the center. Also Edmonds is such a beautiful, cute and safe environment to be in. Even the food and housing is amazing! Everyone there has changed my life for the better! Thank you so much!
Overall, the place seemed like a good fit. Nice people and process. What i didnt get was how the intake director, Candice, scoffed at me when I a slight correction to what she said / thought I said. If you cant have a… normal conversation without getting frustrated / mad, then you are in the wrong line of work. She misinterpreted my words (out of context). I am glad I did not waste my time on these folks. They'll probably reapond saying this didnt happen!
The Center provided me with incredibly caring place to help face and deal with my issues. The tools given will continue to help me after leaving. Also they care about the whole person including nutrition, exercise and… sleep. I highly recommend The Center!
The center was the perfect place for me to start my journey, and what I experienced there was beyond what I expected. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, supported, and understood. The environment helped me… begin healing emotionally and mentally in ways I did not expect. Step by step, they guided me through the process with patience, kindness, and professionalism. Everything was great the teachers and the entire team were incredibly supportive and caring. They helped me discover who I really am and gave me the confidence to continue my healing journey. I also appreciated how well everything was organized to make the experience comfortable and suitable for everyone’s different needs. It’s truly a wonderful place to begin healing and personal growth. They genuinely care about people and take the time to address individual needs with professionalism and compassion. I highly encourage anyone who is looking for support or guidance to reach out to them and learn more about their services. The team is very professional, understanding, and dedicated to helping people heal and grow.
It’s hard to overstate just how much of a positive impact this place had on my partner who attended this place. I’ve known a lot of people in my life, acquaintances, close friends and family members, who have gone… though everything from therapy to rehabilitation and recovery, and while those sometimes helped them, none of them showed a transformation that came anywhere near what I saw in my partner afterwards. I’m very grateful for what this place and its staff were able to help her achieve. That being said, the resulting positive changes didn’t last and eventually reverted back to the same destructive behaviors to our relationship that were some of the primary reasons why she checked herself into there in the first place. They were aware of that, fully. And if there was anything I could have done to help prevent that, being her main source of emotional support, their hard stance against any communication means I’ll never know what those could have been. She was there for issues dealt from her family and a highly abusive relationship years prior, and I received absolutely no communication on what to do, what not to do in case I’m not aware of what that might be, not even a pamphlet or recommended books. No person to call with questions. No resources as a partner with the incredibly difficult role of being emotional support to a person who has been highly volatile in situations where even she eventually would realize she shouldn’t have been. Nothing. And when I’ve asked, I was told they can’t give out any personal information. Which wasn’t what I was asking for. It doesn’t matter if you’re a kid speaking with a school counselor or an addict exiting a rehab program—if you don’t have a reliable support network that knows what to do and when, it’s highly likely that person will lose confidence, trust from others and possibly relapse. And for the $40k a month this place charges (thankfully her insurance covered it), they should be able to provide some answers and materials to those of us who waited patiently for our partner’s return. This was extremely hard for us as well and The Center’s irresponsible and cavalier responses to even general questions I’ve had just make me believe they were only in it for the money and not for something sustainable. It’s incredibly irresponsible and insulting for a place that can clearly help people with trust in others and themselves.
Highly recommend the Center! The staff are incredibly compassionate and kind. They collaborate with you to address your treatment needs. I felt heard and supported in ways I never knew were possible. The friendly… culture between clients makes this place especially healing. Thank you, Center staff for creating and fostering a deeply safe and healing environment!
The entire staff was so compassionate! My four weeks here changed my life! Thankful!
I was afraid to come to The Center. I was here for 5 weeks. In that time, my depression, anxiety, and hopelessness have gone down. I am so thankful this place exists and that I was able to participate in the program
We told the center that we had a problem with the different issue than what they gave her counseling for, which was a food addiction. instead of what we told them I would not recommend this place. they're very pushy… about whenever you're trying to work with them on the financing and I would highly recommend that you do not use them and find somebody that's more suitable for what you need to have happen. The thing that they were most concerned about is getting the money from you
The Center was an amazing experience from start to finish (and beyond!) The skills and faith that I have following the program will help me the rest of my life!
When I first came here, I was struggling deeply with my mental health and honestly felt lost. The staff met me exactly where I was — with compassion, patience, and zero judgment. They helped me understand what I was… dealing with instead of making me feel broken because of it. Through therapy, guidance, and consistent support, I learned how to face and manage my mental health challenges in a healthy way. For the first time in a long time, I feel grounded, clear-headed, and hopeful about my future. I’m incredibly grateful for everyone here. If you’re struggling and don’t know where to turn, this place genuinely cares and can help you find your way back to yourself.
I was here for five weeks during the summer and I was so lucky to have good weather and an amazing roommate. From the Center itself to the house I was in, it was a great environment for me to build a better foundation… and to gain some skills. The staff there, especially Crow Mike, Katie, and France are welcoming, and make you feel like you are in the right place. Thank you so much for all you do. It's been six months since I was there and I'm still feeling like I'm in control of my life. Th DBT skills are top notch and even though there were days I wanted to sleep in and not go to class, they were all worth it. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
This place is highly recommended for those seeking the tools to deal with a life that has become unmanageable. Excellent staff and great resources for aftercare. This out-patient program is life changing.
I went here for five weeks in later summer/ early fall. I do not have a traditional religion. Initially I was nervous due to this facility seeming like it was a Christian faith based mental health center. However the… reality is, treatment is backed by scientific findings. They do offer faith classes but they are not mandatory. In fact, while most clients were Christian, it seemed like a diverse overall group that was accepting of everyone regardless of sex, gender, religion and race. The staff are fantastic and very welcoming. The facility is very nice and not as scary as most might imagine. They offer complimentary housing, free lunch 5 days a week and a variety of classes as well access to a nice local gym. When I arrived I was in the most challenging time mentally. Dealing with extreme anxiety and moderate depression. By the time I left I was doing much better. A couple months later I can say I’ve been using the tools I learned here and am feeling back to my normal self. If I found myself in an another difficult situation I would not hesitate to come back. I’d recommend this place to most people dealing with the most common mental health illnesses.
Shoutout to the center ☃️☃️🌪️
My 4 weeks here at the center honestly saved me. My first day I was so anxious about the new environment I had to have EMS called for me because I had a panic attack, and my second day I was throwing up the whole day.… All that to say I wouldn’t have been able to make it through the first week if it wasn’t for the loving and wonderful and caring staff and clients. Everyone comes here with pain and it leads to a bright, warm, positive environment where people are able to bond and be their authentic selves completely. It’s been wonderful to have such tailored care for my needs, and now I have the ability to cope with the difficult times and move past them healthily. I truly could never thank them enough!
I went in feeling completely hopeless and that I needed to just accept the fact that I would be surviving the rest of my life. Fast forward 6 weeks and I feel a lot of hope and excitement for the future where I will be… able to thrive not just survive. The staff are super supportive and caring I would definitely recommend going if you are struggling with mental health.
Though I really valued the tools and relationships I gained at The Center, it wasn’t the right program for me. I was there for severe OCD and anxiety, and should have gone to a place that was more specialized in those… issues. I didn’t find the boundaries, relationships, and cooking classes helpful and wish I could have put that time towards anxiety and OCD treatment instead. I also didn’t love the way we were spoken to during the Saturday boundaries class when the rules of The Center were reviewed. The tone was bordering on condescending and felt more like being in detention than a supportive class environment. I was there in the middle of summer and was told I was breaking the dress code by wearing a tank top. As a woman experiencing menopausal hot flashes, I nearly laughed out loud, and grabbed paper towels from the bathroom to slip under the straps of my shirt so I wouldn’t have to put my hoody on. I loved my medication provider, and found the genetic testing he provided on my last week of treatment to be invaluable. I used this information with my current psychiatrist and am finally on a med that works for me. I question why this isn’t done before they start prescribing meds, because the initial one I was given was shown to be the worst genetic match for my body. That information would have saved time and discomfort from side effects if we would have done it sooner. I adored the new therapist there who specializes in OCD. She was the most helpful and encouraging part of my “care team”. I was initially matched with another counselor that I just didn’t vibe with, and am so glad I advocated for myself and was reassigned with Stacey (do not be afraid to speak up if a member of your care team isn’t a great fit). I’m still using the tools she taught me (ERP therapy) now, and my OCD is improving every day. The housing was lovely, as were my roommates, and it felt amazing to be able to speak openly with people who genuinely understand what you’re going through. There seemed to be a lot of drama with younger clients, but I just tried to ignore it and stay focused on my own treatment. The front desk staff is amazing, and I loved interacting with them. DBT skills were taught in a fast and furious manner, and was too much for me to absorb in just a month. And I was over hearing about crows after my first week (though several clients got crow tattoos to symbolize their experience with Crow Mike and DBT. I will never understand that whole thing. I also think ACT and CBT therapy are a better fit for my particular issues, but still found pieces of DBT to be important for me. The food was good and healthy (a rare combo), but you will be very sick of it by the time you leave. I also really appreciated being able to use the gym and participate in yoga and cardio classes. The Center does lean pretty Christian, which was fine for me but may not work for you. It was strange talking about god and Jesus in a conversation relating to brain chemistry. However, I did find that I’m more open to finding my own spiritual path. I chose to extend my time to five weeks, but just felt so exhausted and crappy (most likely from the meds that didn’t agree with me) that I changed my mind and left after 4 weeks. I was charged $1600 to leave early, which I was aware of. If you’re experiencing acute ocd, panic attacks or severe anxiety, maybe look for a place that only focuses on those issues like UCLA, McLean, or Roger’s Behavioral Health.
NEVER thought I would be healed in WASHINGTON, God had other plans for me. The Center a Place of Hope was the Way. Thank you too all the Amazing staff who know how to center PEOPLE and their WHOLE PERSON.
