About Valley HealthCare System – Morgantown

Valley HealthCare System operates from 301 Scott Avenue in Morgantown. The site sits in Monongalia County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Booth, Brookhaven and Grafton. West Virginia draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.

Intensive outpatient and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment, telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Treatment Services at Valley HealthCare System

Intensive outpatient and outpatient care run to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Buprenorphine and naltrexone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen.

Me personally I never had a issue with any one of their facilities. Everyone has a bad day! We most find room to give them grace. Everyone have a great day.

It's a shame that after hiring a second person for the Veterans Program, there are female Veterans being slandered and discriminated against. Women deserve the same respect as men.

Really unfortunate place. Slacking in every aspect. They care about the money, not the patients. They will try to keep you coming for their paychecks. The place is dirty, the people were also dirty and unprofessional.

This place is great. They at least deserve three stars like jeez people it’s changed The people are very nice there. They do care it has come a long way from the past and is improving I don’t work there, but I am a… patient and I have always had good experiences

I was a child 6yo this was the place where I went to with my mother for mental health treatment and because of the therapist I did not choose to talk for the next couple of years and because of all the medications they… put me on it severely decreased my cognitive function over the next 10 years or so adding a wall I could not overcome. I knew the information but could not speak of it or comprehend it into my deeper mind for long-term storage now it just stays in my subconscious mind that I can only contact in dream.

If I could give Valley negative stars I would. Very uncoordinated, hard to get a hold of anyone over the phone, frequently messing up dates and times, and very uncooperative. By far the worst part throughout my entire… dui process

Been going here for years and have never had any issues with staff or Dr. Dr King was always good to me and always seemed to care about me and my mental health. He will be misses by so many.

Look elsewhere before calling valley for healthcare or services. Severe understaffing leads to poor patient services. medical oversight is questionable. The only Psychiatrist has not been in office for over 2 years.… Make Valley your last resort.

Do not call here for the DUI class. Call pyramid counseling in St Albans WV they offer the class online and will actually answer the phone unlike any of valleys locations.

Valley Healthcare has been the worst experience I have ever been through. There are constant mistakes and disorganization. The program and employees are no help if you are actually looking for some type of treatment. I… wish I could say something positive about this place but I can’t. They have let me down numerous times and it is very frustrating to even get in contact with this company. If you can go check anywhere else please do. These people don’t care about you or your future.

I can’t ever get ahold of anyone, people are rude and very unprofessional. This is literally the most poorly ran business I have ever came into contact with.

Don't ever let them take over on your SSI check they will Pocket half and only give you $40 a week not even that a times

Dr. King is a joke. A complete joke. Stay very clear of this place. There’s a reason they have a 2 star rating. During my first “mandatory” in office visit the doctor wasn’t even there. I had to be in the actual office… while he was in his home office. Also there was a homeless woman sleeping on the waiting room floor?

If youre looking to get into their dui program might as well just forget it waited over a year for jordan to call me just to tell me i needed my dmv file number. When i called the dmv they said and i quote “valley… health in morgantown has been informed several times they can access that information from the portal”. If youre in this situation like i was get ahold of the place in martinsburg that offers the program they’ll let you take the classes thru zoom and its open enrollment all you have to do is show up to enroll. I will refer absolutely nobody to valley health for anything they obviously have no clue what they are doing over there. The reviews make that clear. Pathetic

Awful bedside manner. Doctors who don't know what they are doing. You're better off seeking help elsewhere.

I was absolutely disappointed by the group therapy ran by Mr.Thorne. If you have any others options, please take them. I was discouraged for asking questions and bringing up other perspectives that were not agreeable to… the therapists agenda. Having an outside point of view was considered an offensive and aggressive action. Even through all that he wouldn't even give me the name of the Dr who has saved his partners life from epilepsy while I continue to struggle this deadly diesae. So please people try the Fairmount office if possible

I have been a patient at this center for a year now. The Valley Health Center in Fairmont is wonderful. Very helpful case workers, therapists, and psychiatrists. This one in Morgantown though is terrible. The front desk… receptionist/ scheduler is extremely bland and rude. My psychiatrist is next to impossible to get in touch with. Their nursing staff for my psychiatrist takes days, if at all to get back in touch with you. I have ran out of mental health meds numerous times due to their lack of care to stay in considerable touch with their patients and follow up on required appointments to stay current on medications and treatments . My case worker is OK. She does what she is supposed to so her part is done on paper. My therapist is great. Seems to be the only one who genuinely cares about getting me connected with resources and proper medical treatment to stay happy and healthy. I am now resorting to other places for psychiatry. Daisy Cumberhouse is a no-go. I don't recommend Valley Health of Morgantown to anyone. As a mental health patient, it is unrealistic and unfair for their staff to expect someone with these conditions to constantly chase/hunt down mental health care providers to give them the proper service they truly need and deserve.
