DUI and DWI Programs in West Virginia

After a DUI revocation in West Virginia, getting a license back usually runs through the Comprehensive Safety and Treatment Program. State law requires it, and the Division of Motor Vehicles sets the rules for who may provide it. The listings here show West Virginia providers that report DUI and DWI services, along with the treatment they offer if an assessment points beyond a class.

Most of these listings sit outside the cities: 62 percent are in rural areas and 30 percent in towns. Details come from government treatment registers, state licensing records, accreditor listings and information the providers send us themselves.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Common questions about DUI and DWI Programs

Answered from what is listed here.

Which West Virginia cities have DUI programs?

Listings for DUI and DWI programs in West Virginia cluster in Princeton, Martinsburg, Clarksburg, Elkins and Beckley, in that order. Providers offering assessment, alcohol and drug education and related treatment after an impaired driving charge tend to gather there.

Beckley shows up both among the busiest program towns and among the larger nearby cities. Drivers living closer to Morgantown or Bluefield can also search listings around those cities.

Rehab Centers in Princetonhttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/west-virginia/princeton-wv/
Is a DUI program covered by West Virginia Medicaid?

Acceptance of West Virginia Medicaid is recorded by nearly all of the DUI and DWI programs in West Virginia. Members use the Mountain Health Trust plan they are enrolled in, such as Aetna Better Health of West Virginia, The Health Plan of West Virginia or Wellpoint of West Virginia.

Rehab Centers in West Virginia That Accept West Virginia Medicaidhttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/west-virginia/west-virginia-medicaid/
Are there DUI programs near a river in West Virginia?

Rivers sit a median of about 9.2 miles from DUI and DWI programs in West Virginia, with a river within 25 miles of nearly all of the DUI and DWI programs in West Virginia.

The most-named rivers are the North Fork River Run, the Little Bluestone River and the Shenandoah River. Distances are measured from each listed provider, so people attending regular sessions can ask how close a particular program sits.

What DUI or DWI program does West Virginia require, and who approves it?

West Virginia requires the state’s DUI safety and treatment program for people whose license was revoked for DUI, and the Division of Motor Vehicles sets the minimum qualifications for providers who run it. Under W. Va. Code 17C-5A-3, finishing the program is a condition of getting a license back.

Behavioral health centers, day report centers and other qualifying providers can offer it. As a result, the organization teaching the safety portion may also offer counseling or treatment. A license reinstatement program in West Virginia is separate from what a judge may order in the criminal case, and a court can order addiction treatment on its own terms.

The state’s treatment courts, run through the Administrative Office of the Supreme Court of Appeals, are another route for some people. First offenders may be offered deferral through the Motor Vehicle Alcohol Test and Lock Program instead, under W. Va. Code 17C-5-2b. Court-related options are gathered on the court-ordered rehab page for West Virginia.
