Youth Extensions Inc – Durham

I’ve worked with SC from this organization for all of my children and when I say I highly recommend her and wish other therapist were so Involved, and caring for their clients. We are super thankful for the help we have… gotten. In all levels.

My child has been seen by a therapist from youth extensions for the past several years. It was great in the beginning. We had a dependable therapist that he loved, but after that first year it has gone down hill and I… have stopped using there services. You never knew when they would show up. They cancel all the time and I feel that a child needs consistency especially in a mental health setting.

My grandson started YE last school year. The program is great and emphasizes accountability. My grandson blamed everyone else but himself for his behavior. The counselors and therapist have worked with him and I have… seen a big change in his behavior. The school was calling me weekly if not daily some weeks. It took a little while but I’ve only received one call from the school this year. The counselors stay abreast of what’s happening in the child’s life and work with school officials and parents to obtain a more positive outcome for the child. I can’t praise the team enough for the work they’ve done and continue to do daily. Every team member I’ve spoken with have left me with the impression they care.

Highly recommend using school therapy for children, regardless of their mental illness status. Youth Extensions, Inc. is an affordable mental healthcare firm that's accommodating, trustworthy, and uses open… communication to aid in the mental wellness and security of your child. Parents can't be everywhere with their child, but a program like this is as close as it gets.

I had a great experience with Youth Connections. We were referred by the school and the process was very simple and fast. Once my son started his therapies I noticed a huge difference, and his Therapist Holly was… absolutely amazing. She checked in with me regularly and ensured we were on track. 100% the best experience I’ve had.

Youth extensions has been a great help with my grandson. The people there have helped him in so many ways. They are all just awesome people to work with.

Pirago and Gwen were amazing working with my son. They had conversations with him to help with his curious mind that I don't think I would have been able to explain. I needed them to help him find his youth again… because he was sucj an old soul. I would recommend this service to any parent struggling with behavorial issues with a child.

I had the exact same experience as a previous reviewer. The young lady who handles intake is really amazing and made us feel super hopeful about being able to find the help we needed. We didn't hear anything else so I… reached out and was told the Medical Director was 'reviewing our case' and we should hear something within a week. It's been two months with no follow up. I would not recommend them for emergent needs.

The individual who conducted our intake virtually was amazing. However, after the initial assessment, we no longer heard from anyone. After many follow ups on where we were in the process, and receiving the same… information (you should hear from someone soon), we had to find a different route. We were told that a therapist was available during the entire process but never received any further information from there. If you are in major need, this isn’t a place I would start.

Mental health counsel that is inconsistent and virtually nonexistent. Counselor was shopping during her virtual counseling session with my child. She also doesn’t keep our weekly appointments nor consistently follows up… regarding appointments or my child’s progress. I’m expecting after an initial session to receive an email detailing a diagnosis and treatment plan. I have not received anything of the sort. Just a random “check-in” call 2 times since starting in January. This is a very unprofessional practice. If you need mental health counseling for your child, I would not recommend this place.
