What Happens If the Program Notifies Late?

Evry states that where a facility misses the notification time requirements, the member cannot be billed for those services. That is a useful protection, though it does not settle whether the stay itself is covered, and it is still worth asking the admissions team to show that notification went out within the three-day window.

Out-of-network is not a given. Some Evry plans exclude out-of-network coverage altogether, and an out-of-network hospital or clinic has to seek authorization within three business days once a patient is stabilized after an emergency. Settle that point before a bed is held, not afterwards.

In network, Evry plans carry no deductibles and no copays, and the premier plan pays 100% for mental health with no deductible. Virtual care, including behavioral health, is $0 with no copay and no deductible around the clock. Coinsurance percentages and annual out-of-pocket maximums are not published, so those two figures come from the employer’s plan documents.

Members can also earn up to $1,000 a year through an activity-based rewards program paid to an Evry Rewards card, alongside a directed spend card issued to each employee. None of that changes what a program charges when a plan does not pay, which is where the market rates below matter.

Quit Genius and Virtual Addiction Care

From April 2022 Evry members have had access to Quit Genius, a digital addiction clinic for tobacco, alcohol and opioid use that pairs virtual behavioral therapy with medication, at no cost to the member or the employer. A rehab admission or an inpatient detox claim can prompt outreach from an Evry care coordinator who may suggest the program, and members can enroll themselves. Whether it remains on offer for the current plan year is worth asking, alongside the $0 telehealth behavioral health benefit.

Members can also ask for a provider to be added to the network, and each member is paired with a care team of nurses, nutritionists and doctors plus a Care Guide who can chase an authorization. When the admissions team calls back, ask three things: whether the program holds an Evry contract for this employer plan, whether the admission needs prior authorization or notification, and who is sending the clinical records.
