Called looking for Methadone clinic to courtesy dose and Christina said "we are not a methadone clinic ". Ok. "Do you know of any in vicinity?" No ma'am ..is the answer you get with an attitude of I don't want to help… you either... Thx for nothing and if I lived here I would not recommend you for recovery. FYI Applegate: people who call you are reaching out for help NOT for your no can do attitude!
I have been a patient of Applegate Recovery for several years. However, an incident that occurred on (01/07/2026) involving a employee named Greta was so serious that it caused significant emotional harm and has… fundamentally damaged my trust in Applegate Recovery as an organization. Dr. Chambers prepared a formal letter of recommendation for an urgent child custody hearing scheduled for the following day. Because I was working, I called around 3:00 PM and spoke directly with Greta. She confirmed she had the letter &explicitly stated that this was acceptable and that she would wait for me so I could retrieve the document. I reasonably relied on that assurance.I arrived at 4:27 PM, I met Greta walking down the stairs. She made no attempt to acknowledge me.I stopped her and said I was there to pick up the letter, she stated she wasnt going back upstairs that my “best bet” was to knock on the door to see if someone would let me in— & if there wasnt a answer, that was “my loss.” She walked off. I reminded her she promised to wait so i could pick up the letter needed for custody court the following day. it was a critical legal document. Despite this, she refused to assist me. Retrieving the letter would have required walking a simple flight of stairs, yet she declined and dismissed the situation entirely. This interaction caused severe emotional distress, panic, & very intense anxiety, particularly given that I have a documented extreme anxiety disorder and am actively in treatment. The timing of this incident—on the eve of a high-stakes custody hearing involving a child I have not seen in four years—significantly exacerbated my condition. The emotional harm was immediate, intense, and entirely foreseeable. The situation escalated to the point that the office director overheard the interaction and intervened, ultimately resolving the matter. While I am grateful 4 that intervention, it does not negate the emotional trauma already inflicted. The distress and destabilization I experienced cannot be dismissed or undone. this incident was not caused by Dr. Chambers, my counselor, or the office director. My concern lies with Applegate Recovery’s failure to ensure that front-desk staff—who handle confidential medical records, legal documentation, and highly sensitive patient information—meet basic professional, ethical, and compassionate standards. The conduct displayed was misleading, dismissive, and reckless given the foreseeable emotional and legal consequences. Because I reasonably relied on an employee’s explicit assurance, and because that assurance was then disregarded in a manner that caused documented emotional harm and exacerbation of a diagnosed anxiety disorder, this incident represents a serious breach of administrative responsibility and patient care obligations. Given the severity of the emotional trauma, the measurable impact on my mental health, and the potential legal consequences related to my child custody case, I am requesting compensation for the distress, anxiety, and psychological harm I endured as a direct result of this incident. Compensation is warranted in addition to corrective action and accountability measures—not in place of them. Since the Nashville office acquired the Brentwood location, I have made every effort to adapt to changes. However, incidents such as this demonstrate a troubling decline in professionalism, patient-centered care, and ethical oversight. This review is intended to place Applegate Recovery’s corporate leadership, compliance department, and legal oversight on notice. I expect a formal response acknowledging this incident, outlining corrective measures taken, and addressing the issue of compensation for the harm caused. Failure to address situations of this seriousness undermines patient trust and raises concerns regarding institutional accountability. Recovery environments must prioritize compassion, stability, and ethical conduct—especially for patients managing serious mental health conditions. On this occasion, those obligations were not met.
I have gone to several substance abuse clinics for medically assisted treatment in the past. Applegate was pushed on me by my insurance because they switched providers. Applegate is easily the worst by far that I've… ever gone to. They act like they care but that couldn't be for her from the truth. I missed an appointment by mere hours and was told on a Wednesday that I wouldn't be able to be seen until the following Monday. Leaving me without Suboxone for 5 days. Asked for a bridge and was refused. Sadly that wasn't the only negative experience I had with them. The only good person the have is Shannon Cullers the Counselor. Do yourself a favor and don't put yourself in their care. Go to South Nashville Comprehensive Treatment Center instead. They are about 3 blocks away on Harding Place. You'll thank me for that suggestion. I promise!
The female doctor that I had there was amazing
This for people who have been on narcotics too long, rather legally or not. This place is for people who eventually want to quit narcotics, safety, and be reintroduced back into society as a functional, normal way of… living.
This place has gone way down hill. I have been a patient for over 6 years. The Dr’s, Counselors and staff are very nice and I thought that they all actually cared about patients until today’s interactions. Oh and the… wait times are getting ridiculous. My last appointment took almost 2 hours. Then today I needed to have a Tele-health visit because my radiator in my car needed replacing. I live over an hour away from my clinic. I have called 4 times since yesterday and still no one has returned my calls. I am always on time for appointments, take meds as prescribed. Don’t cause issues. Today has made me feel very uncared about. *** I wanted to do an edit to say that things have gotten so much better the last few months. I really appreciate the changes they have made and wanted people to know.
They were helpful at first, but there secretary is rude and you never can talk to your Dr or psych there without being hounded by her. But they put me on a narcotic anxiety med for two years but when I couldn't afford… to pay the $500 a month it costed for the appt plus meds, they wouldn't write me enough to get me to my appt with another Dr that took my insurance. I've spoke with director and she hasnt been the least bit of help so now I get to look forward to hospitalization. To just think they took an oath to help there patients when obviously money is all they care about. Good luck if you go here and can't afford it before Applegate took over they would help you if you struggled a little on payment as long as it got paid, ever since they took over it's been hell. Please seek help elsewhere I would suggest the ky Applegate at least they try to help you and don't lie to you saying they will up until it's time to help
I love this place and will continue to come here but the schedule is terrible. Every time I come my appointment is an hour late. If you come late it's a problem wich I understand. We shouldn't have to wait over an hour… for an appointment. That's why you have appointments
From the very first-time I walked into apple gate recovery was my very first time ever going to a recovery center and let me tell you i could name names but it would be pointless because everyone at that place have… hearts the size of the world i mean it they get to kno you personally and are very successful in treating and helping us recover i just want to give a big shoutout to the people i now kno and consider FAMILY!!!! I LOVE YALL THANKYOU ....ps .............NO ONE GETS TURNED AWAY........♡♡♡♡♡
This place saved my life. I consider the staff friends. They're all good people
Saved my life. The doctors, nurses, counselors, and receptionists are professional and respectful. Has high standards and principals that allow you to recover without the stigma of the disease or recovery process. Took… a broken person and gave them the tools to become a productive member of society once again. Tried many avenues, but Applegate was the only place that gave me success. You must do what works for you. Dont give up and give Applegate a chance. Saved my life. I lost both my Brother and Sister to drugs and were soo young. The stigma kept them from seeking help through AMC/Applegate. I 100% believe if they had not been shamed "replacing one for the other", they wouldve gone to Applegate and still be alive.
If you are serious about your recovery I would not recommend using apple gate recovery. They are rude and do not actually care if their patients are ok . They are in it for the money not to help us addicts fighting… addiction
Wonderful Dr and staff. They really care
The team is professional , compassionate and informative. Everyone treats you with dignity and are so kind and accommodating. Every single person in the office is amazing. Dr Limbaugh is a true life saver. She will… truly listen and design a program specifically for your needs and won't treat your recovery as a one size fits all. If you or a family member are struggling this is the place you want to be!!!
I can not say enough AMAZING things about AppleGate Recovery in Nashville, Tn! I have been going to them for years and Not once have I ever had a bad experience! From the first day that I walked into this place to now,… my life has changed so drastically in the most positive way possible! They have been there every step of the way and now my life is 1000% better!! I have yet to meet anyone there that has not welcomed me with open arms! They truly care for their patients and their wellbeing and go to great lengths to make sure your on the right path! I can never thank them enough for always being so respectful, helpful, and kind to me! My boyfriend has been patient here as well for a couple of years and he has had the same exact amazing experience as I have! If your feeling alone and need help, please give this place a call, you will be forever thankful and be treated like a person and feel so comfortable as well!! AppleGate Recovery gets 5 stars for me...I'd give 10 stars if it were possible!!!!!!!
I have been a patient here for a little over 4 years. For the most part, the staff is patient and understanding. Today was my first real bad experience here. I had to cancel my appointment tomorrow (Friday)due to work… reasons. I even offered to have them contact my Supervisor to make sure the reason was legit. The nurse said she didn't need to and rescheduled me for Monday afternoon. The issue comes in when I asked for a 2-3 day script. I was told that no scripts are no longer called in under any circumstances, even under missed appointments due to work reasons. As any addict will tell you, withdrawal sickness does not only come from the physical lack of your medication, but also the mental. I am already extremely stressed and worried that I won't make it until Monday. I really feel bad for those that have a family emergency such as a funeral out of state where they are gone a week. Do these people have to go without their medication for a whole week? I do not know why Applegate does this. Is it to punish people who miss their appointments? Is it to discourage rescheduling in order to pass a UDS? Or is it simply greed and they want money in as soon as possible. I am already looking online for other providers. If I find one before Monday afternoon...wonderful. I wish someone from Applegate would call me though and see if this can be taken care of or if there are other short term options for me. Sincerely, Christian Lance Nerland
You will receive nothing but respect from the people here. The doctors have not forgotten why they chose their profession, and genuinely care about the people they are treating. If you or a loved one needs help, I would… recommend nowhere else.
I had a friend who we got to check in. This facility, those people, saved his life. The staff was professional, empathetic, and genuinely cared about people and respected their privacy. The doctor, who is also a… certified addiction specialist, was amazing and outstanding and caring towards my friend and his family. This facility saved his life. The outpatient program was perfect and I was told the prices were very low even without insurance. If you or a loved one is suffering from addiction please pick up the phone and call this facility. It will save your or their life.
A very professional staff that care about their patients recovery. Thank you AppleGate!!!
Saved my wife's life!!! More then great full for that place!
I'm Holly . I came into this place with bad desires and my life a mess. I have been coming to see Dr. Limbaugh for about two yrs. I've improved my life a thousand percent. Promise and the couple times I did mess up… Susan understood . I keep coming to this place because it offers therapy and counceling to know what tools to use to get better at life .
This place is amazing!! The staff are very nice, and Dr. BEECHER IS AMAZING as well!!! I'm not just saying this, I really mean it!! Thanks A.M.C....
Dr. Limbaugh does a wonderful job and seems to truly care about her patients. I have no negative things to say they do a wonderful job.
This is a great place to start getting a hold on your life and get your life together. Dr. Limbaugh is an amazing woman. They don’t treat you like other places. They treat you with respect and try to help guide you in… the right way. I’m so grateful for this clinic
Great place!! Very friendly staff!!
They are awesome people and so very kind, if you have a situation that you would love to take care of or to get off your mind... They are truly there to help you.. The best clinic I have ever been and met the most… amazing people. Ms. Dr Susan and ms. Shannon are the most nicest and amazingly kind that o she ever met and they treat me like a human being. Before you go and say "well they treat me horribly because I used to be a junky and they treat me like a junky". Hold up NO, absolutely the wrong attitude and the wrong answer to say when it comes to all of the people that work at AMC of Nashville.....you should hear some of their stories and how life had turned on them and then became better. Ms. Susan, Ms. Shannon, Ms. Deanna, and all the rest are the best friendliest people I have ever met. AMC you are amazing and have saved my life, it might be hard for me at times just to have the money or cant come on the day I am needing to because of work and still you guys understand....you people are amazing!
