this place is a joke. I called to get my son a mental health appointment after waiting on hold for a while. The lady finally tells me they have no appointments. They only book for the next 30 days, but there was no… appointments available! She wouldn’t schedule one. And for me to call back every day to see if we can finally get an appointment. Does this place not care about people with mental health… I get that there is some wait times usually for places like this, but why not go ahead and schedule one for your next available appointment? It was already a big enough step for my son to tell me that he needed an appointment. How do I tell him there is nothing that I can do? as a parent this is very frustrating!!!!

I requested an appointment with a psychiatrist for my mother, but they took her to a therapist. The patient has personality disorders and bipolar disorder; she has an authorized by another psychiatrist and medical… history and has been hospitalized. They didn't seem to care about reviewing her case because the patient refused treatment with them. It's understandable that she says that because it's part of her mental condition; she has never accepted it. But everyone around her, including her children, has been affected for years. How is it possible that they denied service to someone with a serious case, didn't read her medical history, and even worse, didn't see her for a proper diagnosis. They just gave a bunch of excuses for not providing the service. They say that patients have the right to refuse treatment by law, but a therapist doesn't understand mental health, They don't do a diagnoses.

I had scheduled my IUD appointment weeks ago. This is something that I had been incredibly nervous about and also quite disappointed because the only time to schedule I had been told they had available was during my… spring break (I’m a student at UTC) and so I had to cancel my plans, but I thought it would be worth it because I could get in and get this over with. Even though this appointment had been scheduled weeks in advance, 30 min before my appointment (I’m in the parking lot and the office is 30 min from my apartment) I receive a call saying I was accidentally scheduled with someone who doesn’t even do IUDS. They then proceed to tell me the next appointment they have available is a month. I know I’m younger than these people, but come on yall are adults with adult jobs this is something even I know yall could have spotted forever ago. Calling me 30 min before and then telling me I can’t come back until another month is insane and I don’t think anyone would disagree. I’m honestly just so beyond disappointed that these people didn’t do anything to fix this situation and the blatant idiocy and laziness of it all. I never write reviews like this, but this is crazy.

Had high hopes but likely going to have to seek care elsewhere. The main form of communication is this portal that directs to nurses (not your actual provider), and the nurse reportedly relays the message to your… provider. Some of these nurses handling the messages are great, but others are rude and seem to think they are able to dictate what medication is prescribed. My specific provider (Laura Green) seems good but this communication structure makes it hard to get actual clinician feedback. Respectfully, I want to know what my provider said - from them - instead of second or third hand relayed messages where info could get edited along the way. Furthermore I don't think some messages actually get passed, based on the fact that it has currently been almost 2 weeks and I still have not been able to get an Rx sent into my pharmacy. The portal also has no labs uploaded or a record of my last appointment. Makes me question if they actually keep appropriate records. Maybe the lack of proper documentation is why they are struggling to send in the Rx. I was unable to find instructions on the website to file a complaint or inform the company of issues experienced, so figured a negative review might get their attention.

I have been going to Cherokee Health since 2020. I wouldn't want to go any where else! From the front desk, to the nurse, to Tiffany Barnett, to the Lab, they are all so very kind to me. Tiffany Barnett works diligently… on figuring out how to help me and what to do to fix my issues! She genuinely wants me to feel better. It's not about the money to them! It's about helping others! I should thank them every day for all they have done for me. I am grateful and truly thankful for Tiffany Barnett. She is the only one to get my Diabetes under control. Thank you!!!!! I would recommend River Valley Health aka Cherokee Health to one and all!

complying in advance to cease providing gender affirming care is cowardly practice from folks who claim to be doctors and proves you never cared for these patients in the first place. if I could rate negative stars I… would. you clearly only care about money, which while understandable, isn’t something you want to hear from your doctor.

0/10 stars!! They are so unprofessional and rude. I cried to Dr. Laura Green for two years about the pain I was experiencing. I asked her how women contract fibroids that woman told me it’s bad luck!!!! Do not go to… this doctors office if you want someone to listen! When I finally got a referral my new doctor found all the issues and I had to have a hysterectomy at 32!! Could have been avoided if she would’ve listened to me! I hope someone files a lawsuit against this office one day. They are trash.

Wish I could give 0 stars :) Here is my experience -I called last Thursday because I realized I didn't have any more refills for my antidepressant. No appts had been scheduled for me, I hadn't received any calls, etc. I… called again on Friday and was told the refill would be pushed through. (It wasn't) -I called their emergency line Sunday night and explained I had missed two doses of my antidepressant and I would miss four doses if I had to wait until Monday (bc they never called it in last week) -The operator told me I was out of luck and I should call back the following morning. I asked if they would instead call me since and was told no. -I called back Monday and after waiting on hold for about 15 minutes, I explained the situation again. They told me they could refill my prescription in FIVE days if I made it to a Fri appt. At this time, I started to panic bc a person cannot just quit antidepressants cold turkey like that without major medical & mental concerns -I was told Tiffany prescribed my medication, and that they would have a nurse call in the refill. I hung up thinking everything was taken care of. -Later, I got a call that went straight to voicemail for some reason. (None of my calls should go straight to voicemail, that is not how my phone is set up because I have to take calls from strange numbers for work regularly.) It was a nurse saying she would not refill my medication until I met with someone. -I called back, waited on hold and explained the situation again. They transferred me to a nurse named Lisa. --Lisa told me that my psychiatrist had tried to call me in February and I hadn't answered which is why my prescription wasn't called in. This makes absolutely no sense because my prescription was refilled for another three months in May and I wasn't told there would be any issues at that time. They also did not schedule any future appointments for me at that time (with my knowledge, at least). -Lisa essentially told me it was my fault that they didn't refill my prescription even though they told me multiple times that they would. Lisa spent the majority of the phone call trying to convince me it was my fault rather than trying to fix the situation. I was emotional (because I had missed four doses of my antidepressant) and I did keep apologizing for this and explaining that I knew it wasn't her fault. She agreed it wasn't her fault because she was adamant it was entirely my fault (despite the previous three or four phone calls where I repeatedly tried to advocate for myself and was let down). -When I asked her how I could make sure this never happens again, she told me "Answer your phone." This is not helpful because I DO answer my phone - I have to for my job. From what I gathered, there is no proof my psychiatrist ever actually called me, no one left a voicemail, no one said there were any issues or would be any issues getting my medication, and no one made any attempt to verify my phone number. I would think a psychiatrist being unable to contact a patient she was treating for severe clinical depression would be a red flag, but apparently not to Cherokee Health! -Lisa told me it is my responsibility to make sure I get my medicine. I'm not sure how this is possible since I did everything I possibly could without a medical degree. -At this time, I was also informed that my psychiatrist prescribes this medication, despite them telling me like 30 minutes earlier that my GP did. -Finally, a psychiatrist named Jessica called me, and she was lovely. She informed me I had an appointment scheduled with my psychiatrist, Misty, next week. No one had ever informed me of this appointment, meaning it is likely I would have missed the call I didn't know about and would then be told it was my fault. Again. -At this time, I am still waiting for my refill to be called in to my pharmacy, and I have now missed four doses of my antidepressant. -This is the first time I have missed doses, but it is NOT the first time I have been given a hard time when trying to get my medicine refilled.
