I was here years ago. Now as an adult, after years of reflection, I believe any hope I could've had a healthy relationship with food and my body was lost because of my time at Menlo Park. I believe the things I… experienced here (having to drink salad dressing, being forced to eat more due to a staff mixup when I was already horribly and painfully full, not being allowed to drink enough water, etc) warped many of my thoughts surrounding food, and now I view it all in extremes and I still continue to struggle with disordered eating. The staff was nice enough, but I think it shows a bigger problem with eating disorder treatment. Wouldn't recommend
This place was horrible, yes they were helpful with nutrition but that's ALL they saw you as. They didn't help you with the root of the problem at all. Ian was horrible and was accusatory, he didn't help me at all. And… when i requested to change my therapist they denied me without even asking me why i wanted to change in the first place. They weren't understanding of mental health at all and only saw you as an eating disorder and not a person. Akshayah was unprofessional and was super rude. I hope nobody comes here unless they want to be traumatized and feel neglected
I was here a long time ago, 2007 or thereabouts. The names I still remember are Dr Altman, Brandy, and Michelle. I'm 33 years old now and I am thankful my parents brought me here. The memories of this place prompted me… to look it up.
Not the worst place I've been to. Guess I just got lucky with my cellmates:_)
Center for discovery really helped me with my ED. The other patients were some of the most amazing group of people I have ever met. This place helped me realize my worth and that I am more than my ED. Rooth is a queen,… so is Daisy and Jo. The staff here are so supportive and kind. This was a great expirience.
Been months since I’ve last been I’m still waking up w flash backs don’t come 😭🙏
I attended CFD in 2011 as an adolescent. I’m lucky I had the privilege to rehabilitate here. Of course while I was 16 and 17 years old I hated everything. My freedom was taken away and everything was very regimented.… But in hindsight I see the purpose for it all. CFD was the only thing that worked for me long term in healing my eating disorder. This program is excellent and I highly recommend to parents with children struggling with an eating disorder that has taken over their life. I was lucky I had great staff members who really cared about my healing. Dr. A was my main doctor and she is a gifted provider. I’ll never forget her.
The staff made it hell besides sam abby Sabrina. There was some issues with some sanitary issues jared had his hair all up in our food maybe get better hair nets meg is the worst with her loud boots n her bad attitude.… Nancy is NOT my mom😭🙏 it was miserable if you have a good personality they will drain you of joy and happiness slowly. Why is everything a Ed behavior😭 if u don’t have a laptop DO NOT COME!! You will slowly die. Rice bowls every day? And sandwiches??? Hopefully I saved you from coming here.
Ruthlin Orgo Ties Bonnets So Bad
I thank God for bringing out this very good program; it helped my daughter a lot.
The experience was overall neglectful every time I showed any sort of emotion nobody cared but I found that if another patient was struggling staff immediately asked them if they wanted to check in. I disliked staff… other than 1 and always felt miserable. Only lasted 2 weeks there before getting admitted to the hospital again.
My clients have had outstanding outcomes! Thank you so much for your expertise CFD!!
Hi, this is pearl previous client. I loved this place and I met amazing people there.
This place is really good, helpful for your recovery. The groups are great. I made the mistake of not participating. But if you do the groups they’re helpful! The staff are really nice. The food is good, the diet tech… cooks some days. Overall if you need residential, I highly recommend this place.
had a very traumatic experience here. almost 2 years later i still wake up with nightmares from this place. they do not know how to treat people with thing other than anorexia or bulimia. don't send your child here if… you truly care about them.
This place was horrible. They did not provide proper care treatment for a child or teen. If my me or other girls were depressed they would not try to help or talk to them. The staff does not care about the patients… feelings. Dr. Martin is the worst doctor I have ever worked with, she is insensitive, ignorant, and overall just not good. I do not recommend here but I do recommend the CFD Danville, staff is very nice, respectful and really helps you through everything
Was admitted here in September and left in December . Place was always dirty but the counselor and nurses are so nice and easy to talk to. Obviously going here is not easy but all the challenges help. The diatec,… Nishna, is a kween💅🏼And Catherine is also a kween period💅🏼❤️🙈🤚🏼Whoever said Dr. Martin was insensitive literally she is so smart and knows what she’s doing. Fight me lol
Horrible staff
I highly recommend this center for Discovery! The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful to not only my son but our whole family. This place is super clean, and the schedule and amount of activities they involve the… kids in is incredible.
My first weeks there where difficult, especially since counselors where on my back all the time but I mean they had their reasons. As time progress, I really enjoyed everyone there and everyone who works there is super… kind and understanding. Their staff is great, but on call nurses can be somewhat questionable. The dietitian, Lauren, is super understanding, supportive, and overall understands the immense amount of pain clients go through, during weight restoration. The outings were great and the majority of the staff is awesome, especially the nurses. I definitely recommend CFD!!
I went here in 2014 for my anorexia and they quite literally saved my life. I’m sure the staff has all changed but all these negative reviews are ridiculous. They certainly did not have expired food and were very… accommodating. Of course I had my own tiffs with a few staff members but all in all they really cared for all of us who were there. 10/10 recommend to anyone struggling with an ED
