Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

Does The Holman Group cover rehab?

Yes, when the employer or union bought a managed behavioral health plan rather than an employee assistance program alone. Those plans use a network covering acute hospital detox, residential treatment centers, inpatient stays, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient counseling, all subject to medical necessity review.

An EAP-only arrangement pays for short-term counseling and a referral onward, not a paid rehab stay. Call 1-800-321-2843 to hear which product your employer bought.

What is The Holman Group?

The Holman Group is a California managed behavioral health and employee assistance company based in Canoga Park that handles mental health and substance use benefits for employers, unions, trusts and other insurance plans. It has held a California Knox-Keene health plan license since 1985.

It is not a general medical insurer. The behavioral benefit can be integrated with an EAP, sold stand-alone, or run as a carve-out from a medical plan.

Private Insurance Acceptedhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/private-insurance-accepted/
Does The Holman Group cover detox?

Acute hospital detox sits in the Holman network, and detoxification is named in its provider manual alongside alcohol and drug rehabilitation. Pre-authorization is required before a planned admission. In an emergency no authorization is needed first, but the facility must contact Holman on admission.

Medical necessity for substance use levels of care is judged with ASAM criteria. Care Management takes authorization calls on 1-800-321-2843, deciding urgent requests within 72 hours.

The Holman Group is a managed behavioral health and employee assistance company based in Canoga Park, California, not a general medical insurer. It runs the mental health and substance use side of a benefit for employers, unions, trusts and, in some arrangements, for another health plan, which means Holman decides the therapy and rehab authorizations while a separate carrier handles the medical bill.

That split decides what a Holman card is worth at an admissions desk. A behavioral health plan bought from Holman pays for treatment through its contracted network. An employee assistance program bought on its own gives short-term counseling at no cost and a referral onward, which is a different thing from paid rehab. The company has held a California Knox-Keene license since 1985, regulated by the California Department of Managed Health Care, and says its clinician and facility network runs nationwide.

This guide covers which levels of care sit in the Holman network, where pre-authorization applies and how long a decision takes, what an EAP session and a plan copay cost, how medication is handled, and how to work out which programs in California hold a contract.
