This program changed my life. I was in 1 on 1 general therapy for years and it helped. But IOP takes you to the next level of your mental health. It is essentially a boot camp for your mind. There's lessons and group… therapy with individuals a lot like you but also diverse racially and sexual orientation/sexuality. Anyone can belong and they do. You don't have to participate but it will help immensely asking questions to relate to your situation and what you learned in your lesson. All the staff want is for you to get better, my therapist worked hard to get me well and the help I need after discharge. The program works if you believe in yourself and the program. They will take care of you. I'm reading some of these 1 star reviews unbiasely. I mean the reviews are only 5 star and 1 star. From my point of view, these people do not understand that since this is something that is partially or fully covered by insurance, there are limitations. The program is doing well but it's not like they are privately funded as far as I'm aware. You get billed for the days you don't go, they tell you that several times. They are flexible if you need to miss a sessions, you just need to give them proper warning. The whole point of this program is to rewire your brain. Improve your mental health by building a routine to care for yourself many days of the week.
Terrible experience. I’m being billed for days I didn’t attend. The experience itself was terrible too. They had more people in group therapy than they had spots on the couch to sit. Room smells like mold and kitty… litter. They were also understaffed and couldn’t provide the support they advertised. I’ve been trying to reach billing for 3 weeks without response. My insurance company filed a complaint today and my HSA is disputing the charges now that they see they don’t line up with the days I was there. What’s the most frustrating though is the complete lack of follow up. This place doesn’t give a crap about their patients. Admissions always answers the phone but I can’t reach anyone from billing to adjust the fraudulent charges. Stay away from this place. They only care about profits, not their patients.
This place sucks horribly! Toxic and incompetent....
The IOP program for this place is just terrible. During the group session we had 3 different therapists take over which seems too much to get any effective work done when the group is constantly rotating the therapist.… I only went one time and I can tell right away that the therapists didn't care at all for the people in the group, they were just going through the motions. They were constantly on their phone and laptop and were very disengaged the whole time. One therapist was extremely passive aggressive with me which I thought was hilarious because we just got done talking about effective communication 😆 Just don't bother with this place. I recommend API if you want a program that works and people who actually care.
Before starting this IOP program, I was in a dark place. A choking incident with food left me with debilitating anxiety, daily panic attacks, and intrusive thoughts that made it impossible to show up in my life. I had… to reduce my work hours and felt completely stuck. This program gave me exactly what I needed—tangible skills from CBT, ACT, and DBT, individual therapy, and group support. It wasn’t easy to accept that I needed this level of care, and progress wasn’t always linear, but it was so worth it. On the hardest days, knowing I had a team and group members who truly listened made all the difference. I put in the work, and over time, I saw the shifts. Small at first, but they added up. Anxiety doesn't rule my life anymore and I'm able to show up in my life the way I want to
Created more trauma for my daughter rather than helping her
I went there my 8th grade year and i loved her. The therapist was so kind and it really felt like a family and a safe place in there. I’m glad I got the help I need and know I know how to help myself in those situations… I was struggling with. I miss it everyday though!
The Discovery Mood treatment program made a world of difference in treating my daughter's anxiety. The intensive outpatient program and staff provided my daughter with a safe and nurturing environment where she learned… skills to cope with daily triggers and manage her anxiety effectively.
I went to this place a couple of years back im now in 10th grade I was in 7th going into 8th at the time I went there at first it was scary because it was new but the more I spent there I loved it I wanna thank my… therapist that listened to me and everyone who helped me though out my healing journey this is a w place to be if u ever get assigned there.
I went here over a year ago and at first I hated it. Not the people but the program. I want many willing to Focus on myself and what I needed to work on. The family therapy is what saved me. Looking back on it now if I… didn’t do the family therapy my mom wouldn’t have changed her outlook and I wouldn’t be where I am today with out the therapist nick. So shoutout to you and this program.
If I were able to give this horrendous place 0 stars, I would. The way they treat those who do not progress at the speed at which they think they should, is disgusting. They are more worried about getting paid per… patient that is in their program, than they are about helping their patients. They lie, cannot keep a consistent therapist per patient, do not communicate AT ALL with the parents of the teens in the program, and seem to just worry about the ones who are going to be success stories, instead of those who they are watching actively drown in the depression and anxiety. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. The only thing they are good at is lying, psychologically abusing patients, and treating those who fall behind as less than.
My son started Discovery SD after completing another IOP virtual program and actually becoming worse. My son was not in a good place when beginning the program and did both the PHP and the IOP programs. The staff is… absolutely amazing! Nick, Kara, Namde and Joe are the staff I had the most interaction with and were exceptional. The program also includes support for parents with multiple weekly meetings. One of the meetings is mandatory but the optional meetings were so helpful that I truly enjoyed them and was bummed when I couldn't attend. The staff were always attentive to all concerns, questions and always responded quickly. I truly believe this program saved our son's life. They gave our family the tools necessary to help him and our family move forward. They helped my son find his purpose in life, happiness, effective ways to communicate and ways to deal with his anxiety and "dark" thoughts. I will be forever grateful for the changes they helped my son make and the hope they gave him and our family.
it helped me so much. Wouldn’t be where I am without this place
