Yes. Emergency detoxification appears as its own line under substance use disorder services on 2026 benefit summaries, with a $400 facility fee on the Sharp Silver 70 Off Exchange Performance HMO, waived if you are admitted, and a $100 fee on the City of San Diego SDPEBA HMO plan.

On the Sharp Bronze 60 Performance HMO for 2026, the emergency detox facility charge is 40 percent coinsurance rather than a flat dollar fee.

Sharp Health Plan is a nonprofit health plan owned by Sharp HealthCare that sells employer, individual and family, and Medicare Advantage coverage in San Diego County and southern Riverside County, California. Treatment for a substance use disorder is a covered benefit on every line it writes, and the route into care runs through the plan’s behavioral health manager rather than through a Sharp medical office.

That manager changed on January 1, 2026, when OptumHealth Behavioral Solutions of California took over mental health and substance use benefits for all lines of business. Sharp said benefits and copays did not change at the handover and member ID numbers stayed the same, with new cards naming Optum as the behavioral health partner. Anyone working from a 2024 or 2025 card is looking at the previous vendor’s name.

Almost every Sharp product is an HMO, so routine treatment happens inside the service area and inside the network.
