The manager of this location, Melvin Broxton, was one of the rudest and most unhelpful people I have ever spoken with. When I simply asked for assistance getting connected with the appropriate person, I was hung up on… and then spoken to in an incredibly degrading and disrespectful manner. His behavior was completely unprofessional and unacceptable, especially for someone in a management position. Based on my experience, I would not recommend working with him, as he demonstrated a serious lack of respect, professionalism, and basic courtesy toward others.

Well we put our self's in this situation that we are in, and yes it's a business, and I say Thank Goodness for this business, I like very much the people who work here, my counselor is great, the dosing people are… great, I have a couple Favorites, but I'm Very Thankful for these Methadone Clinics, it got me off of Heroin, and with Methadone I dont have to worry about getting a drug that god knows what's in it, I know what's in the Methadone. I have been on this program for many years, that also is my fault, any time I want to get detoxed, I am able too, they dont force you to stay on it. But it has worked for.

I personally am very grateful for the staff at this clinic. As I am sure everyone can imagine they get all types of clients and some people are jerks. If you go in there with a good attitude and treat others the way you… want to be treated you will have a excellent experience. The counsellors are great, if you want to talk and work through your issues they are there for you if you don't want to be bothered they understand that too. Some people go there to actually get help and some people are just there because they are out of money and don't want to be sick wich I have been in both situations myself so I get it. I read a comment complaining about the dose increases and I have never experienced any of what they are talking about. This is actually how it works, if you need an increase then you knock on your counsellors office door and ask for one, they ask you how you are doing and if you simply tell them my dose is not cutting it they will put in for a increase with the doctor. Within the next 2 days you will have it unless its the weekend then you may have to wait until Monday. I have never been given a hard time about an increase. As a matter of fact I was getting regular increases until I reached the dose that worked for me. They offer 2 different programs 1 is for maintenance and the other is to taper to quit. The choice is yours wich one you choose. When you go to get your dose it's usually very quick, you check in and they call you 5 minutes or less later. You are required to take a urinalysis monthly and when you first start. Nobody says anything if you are dirty but if you want to get take home doses you must be clean for 4 months I believe and then they will start you with 1 week at a time and you can work up to 2 weeks worth of take homes I believe. I have never had any problems with any of the employees there at all. I have seen a few attitudes here and there but who doesn't have days like that? Like I said it was never for no reason either and like I also said they get all types of clientele and some people are just rude a holes. I think the counsellors are great people, I do think they might have a little too much of a case load as in too many patients but I have been happy with the 2 different counsellor's that I have had. I personally prefer dosing to suboxone because I have a lot less cravings. People say you are just trading one addiction for another and that is true to an extent. But you are not going to get a bad dose here and overdose and possibly die. It's all up to you and what you want to do with your life whether you want maintenance or to taper off everything. When I was seeing a different doctor getting prescribed subutex I was getting 8-8mg pills a day prescribed to me. Now that doctor didn't care at all about me and it wasn't a secret. I definitely just traded drug dealers and that doctor cost me $2400 for my pills plus $200 for the script per month. I tapered myself down to 2 pills a day mainly because I couldn't afford to pay for my script. When I asked that doctor about getting off of everything he said that I had to stay on it forever. I didn't like the idea of having to rely on a medication just to feel normal and not get sick or have bad cravings. Every 12 step meeting I went to would say that if you are on medication then you are not sober and would make you feel like a piece of crap for taking it. So I decided to stop taking it and it didn't work of course. Then I had a different doctor explain to me that just because I take a medication it is not the same as getting high. He confirmed that you can't even get high from the medication and that people have to take different medications every day for all kinds of reasons so I shouldn't beat myself up for taking a medication that keeps me from getting dope and getting high. My point is that even if you end up taking a medication for the rest of your life don't beat yourself up over it and it's nobody else's business what medications you take so don't take crap from anyone about it. Any prescription is much safer than street drugs.

It's a great place it really helped me but the staff decides when they want to follow the rulesThey can be very disrespectful and cold hearted, you're also expected to bite your tongue. I personally have had staff lie… about me to higher ups, and plain deny saying things that were told to me face to face. They have had so many different managers and staff it's crazy, soon as staff realizes what's going on They quit. If you can keep your head down, submit to their power trips, and not let them push your buttons you'll be fine. Good luck

I first went to this clinic when I was guest dosing when I came out here for vacation with my husband. They were great during that time and by the end of my vacation, we knew that we wanted to move here, and so the… explained how to do that. Six months later I was back and everything went very smoothly. I think they have been very helpful and are there anytime I need them, and they have helped me a lot and am very thankful for them. Plus my counselor is great, which I am very grateful for, because I had problems in that area in Milwaukee, where I moved from. I would recommend this place, and anyone who has something negative to say about methadone, don’t listen to them. Do you, and don’t let other people’s opinions dictate what you are going to do, or how you are going to improve your life. I would not be where I am today without this program! It worked for me, and it can work for you, if you want it to. And not everyone just goes up and up. The point is supposed to be a therapeutic dose, and I found mine at 80 mg. But the number is not important because it is different for everyone. When it comes to you and your situation and your sobriety, do you and what you need and don’t worry about what other people say because they are not you and are not dealing with addiction daily like you are. This is just one option. But I tried cold turkey, I tried Suboxone, and methadone is the only thing that worked for me, and I thank God that it worked every single day! I am here and I am thriving and you can be too! If I can do it after being addicted for 12+ years you can too!

Excellent staff. Very friendly and caring. New patients must arrive Tuesday or Thursday before 5:30am (I arrived at 5:15 on my first visit and was not one of the first few people in line so I had to come back. The… second time, I arrived at 4:45am and was the 3rd person in line. I was set up for intake on my second visit) I definitely would recommend to be there no later than 4:45am-5am and be prepared to be there until at least 10am-11am. I have been here over a month now and these wonderful people have changed my life!

Western Pacific Medical is ok (at best). The counselors in my experience in the 2-3+ years I've been going here don't last very long and aren't really that great or compassionate, nor is the "new manager" (Gina's… replacement). It's really hard to get a dosage increase here. Kathy (who is in generally polite aside from dosing requests), the primary dosing nurse has a general negative attitude towards dosage increases, she will immediately refer you to the doctor (I kind of found her involvement strange, when I went to Palmdale Medical I never dealt with the dosing nurse when it came to dosage increases? When I wanted a dosage increase, I only dealt with my counselor who then would take my request to the doctor)? What's odd is I went to Palmdale Medical for over 10+ years. I never had a problem getting a dosage increase, additionally anytime I wanted one my counselor simply filled out a form (asked me what withdrawal symptoms I was suffering from), that would get turned into Dr. Stillion (who was wonderful to me the entire 10+ years I went there) the next business day & Dr. Stillion would approve my request & and I would get my increase next time I dosed or picked up? I was always honest with Dr. Stillion and told him I always would prefer an increase then to ever backslide, he always told me from day one as long as I was honest with him, he would take care of me to make sure I didn't backslide. But Lancaster seems to have a different morale or in-house way of handling dosage increases? I've only received ONE increase in 2-3+ years, and I suffer daily withdrawal symptoms that I try hard to manage. By the way, for those who are wondering why did I change from Palmdale to Lancaster, it was because I moved to Lancaster & was much closer to the Lancaster office. I actually didn't start going to Lancaster right away, it was after a few months when I started having transportation issues which forced me to switch to Lancaster. I hope this review is helpful?
