UAMS – Fayetteville Reviews
What patients and their families say about UAMS sits alongside the licensing and accreditation detail on this page. Reading the two together gives a fuller picture of this Fayetteville program than either gives alone.
Would recommend the Fayetteville Odyssey Clinic in a heart beat. The care of the team and the support is top notch. We have been going her for over a year now and the care is still the same as when we started. They… listen to you and find out what can help you and will even listen to what you feel doesn’t help. Dr McMahon and Elizabeth are the best around.
I took my son here after transferring from Arisa Health in Bentonville and saw Dr. Kyle Camp and explained to him about my son's extensive issues and I told him he had issues of low sodium where he had previous… hospitalizations and I asked him if he could put an order to check his sodium levels because I thought that could be why my son was doing so poorly to rule that out and he said his sodium was checked 3 months ago and so I'll recheck it in 3 months. He said I like to check every six months and ended the discussion. Also he lowered my son's meds and raised another one and added trazadone and my son's issues got worse very quickly. I stopped giving him Trazadone and lowered his oxcarbazapine back to 300 mg and he immediately responded but now we are going back to Arissa Health since they moved to a new location hoping for a better experience.
Excellent clinic in every way- beautiful facility, engaging caregivers, and a respectful and dignified environment throughout including Administration. Our family are grateful for this place and team.
Catherine Kabasia is a amazing. A total asset to UAMS.
I found the staff in this clinic to be extremely helpful and very kind. I was not expecting to make a transition but my psychiatrist retired so I had to meet my needs and this is the clinic I chose and I will be forever… grateful. Very professional staff also extremely friendly Without being intrusive.
Great therapy here. But the psychiateist, Dr Kyle Camp, is a joke. Doesn’t listen to the patient and ignores patient needs.
I cannot recommend this place since Dr Mecum no longer works for UAMS. Stay away if at all possible. The doctor that took her place has no empathy and could care less about your issues.
Haven't seen Dr Kern but I just want to Lift and Praise Ashley, his counselor. She made me feel so comfortable and relaxed when she did my evaluation. I feel Dr Kern will as well.
Excellent primary care clinic run by UAMS doctors and residents who provide timely compassionate medical care in general practice and who have psychiatric care available nearby as well as NW Medical centers lab and… imaging services next door for anything they can't do in house .
After having been a patient for 7.5 years, I call today to find out when my next appointment is. I'm informed that I no showed on 10/17. I apologize and ask to reschedule. I'm told no, that right now I'm being… discharged and that given my "history"--a handful of cancellations and now 2 no shows, the last 5 years ago--i'm being discharged. Wait. What?! She tells me that I was called 10/13, 14, 15, 16 (14/15 were the weekend) as reminders. I ask what the number was and she says "oh...501-something I don't know". I have one call on the 13th, re checked my voicemails...no voicemail. So I'm callously told by some woman, who didn't ID herself. That I'm losing my doctor. No letter. Nothing. And to top it off, she tells me that they're downgrading their caseload and that people who've been patients longer than she's worked there are being discharged. That they can't sustain their case load. Talk about completely and utter unprofessional. I've worked in mental health before and never in a million years (a) have I seen someone discharged for ONE no show, there's generally a pattern and there's generally warnings and (b) you don't tell a patient that people are being discharged because you can't sustain your caseload. The PRI is certainly not the PRI I signed up with 2010. Disappointment doesn't begin to describe how I've felt since this phone call.
