Dare To Care Too – Upper Marlboro Detox and Rehab Services
The provision listed at Dare To Care Too – Upper Marlboro is intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Structured outpatient runs to a schedule while people return home in the evening. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.
Co-occurring mental health conditions are addressed alongside substance use, which is the approach the evidence supports. The weekly time commitment varies considerably between providers, so establish it early rather than after admission.

Dare To Care Too – Upper Marlboro Reviews and Ratings

I won’t be returning. If I’m honest I am truly having the worst day- I was ready for my appointment. The office decided the $30 copay I couldn’t afford to pay was more important to collect than me being seen. I will… call the suicide hotline for free. I pray I make it to tomorrow.
Professionalism is a 2-way path and unfortunately today Tochi Nwani proved otherwise. Had her young patient wait 33 minutes past her appointment time due to staff issues. In my opinion the female receptionist needs more… training because she could not remember what she said or was told verbatim. A few "white lies" was said, that's not how one earns trust especially from a Mental Health Clinic. I've gone back & forth with this facility and it appears that their viewpoint doesn't align with our family values. Constructive criticism is always good when perceived with an open-mind.
Its a great environment to come into. They are very welcoming and great a listening ear for what you have to say. I would recommend this facility to all that need that extra help.
Nice location and nice staff. I did research within my insurances network to search for the type of office I wanted to visit and I am happy with my selection. Virtual and in person options and as a first timer I have no… complaints.
Thank you to Dr.Lee for helping me to discover my past trauma. With her help, she will help me become a better person.
I have had a great experience with Dare To Care Too. All the staff always make me feel welcomed.
The office staff is very efficient and friendly. They provide text and email reminders, so I’m always aware of upcoming appointments. The NP I see is very empathetic and genuinely invested in making sure we find the… best path for my care. The overall environment is welcoming and professional, which makes it easy to feel comfortable and supported. Highly recommend
I've had a great experience, I feel hopeful about my future, and feel like they have my back.
I am extremely disappointed with Dare to Care’s administrative and billing practices. When I first started at the facility, I paid my balance upfront. However during the transition from one building to the next, the… payment department failed to update my payments. I informed Dare to Care about the issue and was told that someone would speak with billing to pause my billing cycle while they figured out why none of my payments had been processed. Nearly four months passed without any updates, and despite my efforts to get answers, no one could provide clarity. When the staff transitioned, I finally learned that my billing had never been paused, and I had been continuously billed. Instead of informing me that I was still being charged so I could make payments as I went along, I was left unaware, and my balance accumulated to around $900. I am a diligent and hardworking person who believes in paying my dues, but I do not appreciate the lack of communication, poor management, and failure to understand their own billing policies. The situation only worsened, and my balance has now grown to nearly $1,700. While I value the care provided at Dare to Care, the administrative sector’s lack of transparency and communication is unacceptable. To make matters worse, I received no calls to check on my well-being—only calls to see if I could put money down on my account. I wish someone had been upfront with me from the beginning, as I would have made payments as I went along rather than allowing the balance to get out of hand. I am now considering finding another facility that demonstrates better management and communication skills.
Another disappointing update: After meeting with me virtually for over two months my provider let me know I would actually be required to meet in person since I lived in DC and not Maryland. They’ve known I lived in DC… the entire time…. I told her I’d begin looking for a provider closer to home and she assured me she’d be able to fill my prescription for one more month if needed. Then she suddenly left the practice with no notice. They called to inform me on a Monday and I didn’t answer so they left a voicemail. I called back Wednesday and left them a voicemail. My call was never returned. I called again on Friday and they told me that not only is my provider gone but they can’t get me in for an appointment in time for someone else to see me and get my prescription refilled before it runs out. Absolutely ridiculous and just such a lack of care. I am now scrambling to find someone to help me get my meds on time. Update: After posting this review, the head of the practice called me on a Sunday morning to inquire about my experience and to ensure my prescription was filled for Monday. I appreciate the effort to make it right, and am giving a star back accordingly. Hopefully these issues will not persist and I can give even more stars in the future. Original Review: While everyone at this office is very polite, I find it extremely hard to get what I need. Last time I needed a prescription filled I had to call 4+ times. They sent it to the wrong pharmacy, failed to put the order through, and questioned me about whether or not I was mistaken about the pharmacy not having my prescription. I even had to call the pharmacy while on the phone with my provider to prove it to her. Right now I am, once again, in the midst of a five day struggle to get my meds. I’m worried I won’t be able to get them in time as I run out tomorrow. I also had a hard time with my last telehealth appointment. After calling twice to confirm my appointment was telehealth, the provider never sent a link. My appointment time rolled around and still no link. When I called the office to let them know, I was told I was put down for an in-person visit. I corrected them and let them know I’d already called twice in advance to confirm. All they did was say they’d let the provider know. My appointment finally started 25 minutes late. Overall, friendly people but a very poorly run office. I keep hoping things will improve, but I’m losing faith.
Experiencing some hard times and was connected with the dare to care too office for their professional needs. I was assigned to Debbie Poe as my counselor, and provider. I scheduled an appointment with front desk, and I… specifically asked for a télé appointment. Was never told that I needed to be there in person. On the day of the appointment when I called the office and was informed of their policy. I agreed to reschedule a visit for another day IN PERSON. The “manager” called me a few minutes later with a nasty attitude and was very rude and disrespectful. I had to ask her if “that’s how they do customer service?” She slammed the phone down and the other associate had to answer the phone and communicate what she was failing to communicate. After the conversation I informed the associate that I did not have an issue with the policy that I was just made aware of, and I would be in for my appointment and the call ended. Few minutes later the associate call me to inform me that my appointment was cancelled and I’m no longer a patient. The office was working on documents for my employer to which I have been very patient and understanding, for them to waste a whole month of services that I could have received somewhere else is the utmost disrespectful and abusive thing they could have done. This is not the place to seek help, they are not helpful. It’s just a bunch of people that are not trying to do their jobs with poor communication skills and nasty behaviors. Do yourself a favor and seek professional help from a professional firm…
I love all the staff there! All very friendly and welcoming!
