Onward Behavioral Health – Hammonton Detox and Rehab Services
Onward Behavioral Health – Hammonton carries a listing for detox and residential treatment. Medical supervision covers the withdrawal period, where alcohol and benzodiazepines carry real risk. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.
Only one side is on record here, so ask directly if both are needed. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

Onward Behavioral Health – Hammonton Address, Location and Contact Information
The site is at 600 South White Horse Pike in Hammonton, New Jersey, 8037. This address falls in Atlantic County. People travel in from the surrounding area, and confirming the route beforehand saves difficulty. How someone gets there matters more than it sounds: travel is one of the commonest reasons a course of treatment stops partway.
A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. Remote appointments may be possible where travel is a barrier. Where no one answers, leaving a message and calling again later usually works better than giving up.

When reading, give most weight to concrete detail, such as how quickly an appointment was offered or how family members were kept informed.
My family’s experience with Pyramid Hammonton was deeply frustrating. Once admission is complete, it is nearly impossible to get anyone at the facility to answer the phone, which is extremely distressing for families.… Communication and discharge planning were fragmented and poorly coordinated. We ultimately had to secure sober living and outpatient aftercare ourselves.
Decent place to go. Not the best but far from the worst. It’s fairly clean and the food isn’t terrible. They give u a lot of smoke breaks which was cool. They have groups during the day but they don’t over group you at… least imo. I left early cause it simply wasn’t for me but there’s a lot of good in this place. The staff do truly care. The nurses are rude tho and treat you like your in prison but besides that it’s an acceptable place to recover from drugs and alcohol
Hello , my name is Rene Larson . I spent 3-1/2 months at your facility 4 years ago today . I just wanted to share . I’m wishing a Happy 4 years of being clean off of meth to myself. I posted back in 2023 asking for… ideas on what would help me to succeed in my journey. I did choose on my own to go to rehab for 3-1/2 months , I’ve come a long way thankfully. Meetings didn’t work for me due to me not wanting all of my personal business out there. I chose instead to take this journey alone as I’ve done since childhood . Being stubborn/ resilient ,being strong willed as well as a Sagittarius , I song the song Jesus Take the wheel , and handed it up . I’m not religious but I do believe. What I will say is that even when I used I payed attention to people , places and surroundings that I knew I shouldn’t have been in . I played dumb because some thought I was. lol Far from it . What I will say , take one day at a time , remember where your addiction took you . The person on people that gave it to you aren’t your “friends”. There drug acquaintances ! Being thankful that I wasn’t out on the streets buying it , or any form of entertainment to get it. I was in a situation ship with the person whom offered it to me and I blame myself for saying yes !Yes I take accountability for my own actions . Do what works for you be it a meeting, sponsor, or just believing in your higher power . Remember the most important thing is “YOU” are worth every minute of your sobriety. Have a great day everyone.
This place is extremely dirty. Beyond the lobby there is no AC and everything smells like BO. I’m only leaving two stars bc two star reviews can’t be deleted. Otherwise I’d leave it 0. The entrance is okay but as soon… as you get back to the rooms you would be staying in, it is disgusting and dehumanizing. Not a place for rehabilitation.
This place helps ppl save their lives. Great staff and good food.
Horrible place. Don’t let the pictures fool you. Staff thing they untouchable.
The staff are what makes the place great.
Extremely unprofessional! And decide to not in force the rules to everyone! My friend wasn't properly medicated and the nurses are extremely rude ! The phlebotomist Sarah was great thoe only great staff present . I was… involuntary discharged and without warning with their policy says I should have had an second chance to rectify what was wrong . I was there for alcohol and was supposed to be there for 5 days they kicked me out day 3 with no medicine to be sent home for my last three days ! I will be taking legal matters over everything I've seen !
J the tech was great, he helped me a lot on a day to day basis just by talking to me when we had the chance - Mrs B was a really good counselor too. She convinced me into staying when I thought I had my mind made up of… leaving the first week I was there.
This place does not look like it looks in the pictures it's dirty especially if you're in female long-term the food is mediocre the staff is great butt upon leaving they did not give me all my stuff so I'm pissed off… about that and I can't even get hold of them because they don't answer the phone go go someplace else if you really need to get to help
Today marks 8 months of sobriety. I wanted to share my progress, and give credit to the place my journey started. Often I reflect or as the program says, "I rewind the tape." I think of the terrible places my addiction… took me. The countless overdoses. The hopelessness I felt. I was living like an animal. As much as I wish these memories would go away I know they keep me from returning to the horrors of addiction. The beauty of my struggles started when I walked in to Pyramid. The staff showed me there was hope. They gave me a format, and said, if I followed it I could live again. Everything I learned from the staff at Pyramid I applied to my life. I cannot thank you enough. Today I am working full time. I pay my rent and bills on time. I have family and friends that count on me. Today I am living a beautiful life. I will never forget the people at Pyramid who showed me a great life was possible. Thank you Lyna, Christy, Keihla. You ladies are making a difference.
I was at Pyramid about five years ago, and unfortunately my experience was very negative. The technicians seemed to have favorites, and if you were not one of them, you were treated poorly. There was only one TV in a… single room, and TV time was extremely limited. The facility also had cleanliness issues, including roaches, which was very disturbing in a treatment setting. During medication and smoke breaks, we were required to stand in line silently, which felt degrading rather than therapeutic. I also felt there was unfair treatment among clients, with some individuals receiving noticeably better treatment than others. While I was there, my sneakers were stolen, and no one made an effort to help me find them. I ended up having to wear flip-flops that were two sizes too big. The unit had one hallway, steel bedroom doors, and we were not allowed to keep doors open, which made the environment feel harsh and unwelcoming. Overall, the facility felt dirty and poorly managed. I will never forget how badly I was treated there. Ironically, that experience inspired me to work in this field myself, and I make sure that every client I work with is treated with respect, dignity, and care. The only positive part of my stay was my therapist—she was truly amazing. I wish I could remember her name.
This place is terrible. My brother was there and I sent him packages. He told me he never received them, no one returns my phone calls, he was moved to another facility. I can't get in touch with him there. And I don't… want to send him any more packages because I simply can't afford to without knowing he's getting the items I've already sent him.
Pyramid saved my life. The staff really made the place so much better and most of them showed they really, truly cared! (Shoutout to Kristin!!! Amanda, ms. Cindy, ms. Judy, Tina, Lina, Karley, Raven) The nursing staff… wasn’t the best, but whatever. Also, they have cornhole which was a big part of my stay! But yeah, pyramid isn’t a 5 star resort, but has what you need for recovery! ❤️🩹
The majority of the staff in this location were beyond helpful. I started in detox for a few days and have no complaints. I received one on one counseling sessions once I got to short term which were very effective and… I learned a lot from my counselor, who was also in recovery and definitely went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable in the facility. The group counseling sessions were smaller in size which helps create a more comfortable environment. The food was okay but I will say that the cafeteria staff are wildly unprofessional and had a tendency to go off at the mouth if clients bothered them and showed real favoritism which made the whole dining experience a total mess. No reason to cop an attitude with or even yell at newly recovering addicts who are simply trying to eat. Also the clinical staff allow people to really behave inappropriately without addressing it. Overt discrimination, threats of violence, and being confrontational towards other clients seems to be perfectly acceptable here. The techs are spread very thin and a lot is expected of them. They did the best they can but yes, it can leave you feeling unheard / ignored entirely as they are dealing with so many little issues each moment. People got kicked out for defending themselves against verbal attacks while the ones doing the attacking just remained in the unit. Very unsettling. Clinical staff, 5/5. BHTs, 2 / 5. Shout out to Tyreek, Matt, Lyna, Will, Chelsea, *Alice*, Lynda and Toby (probably forgetting some) Y’all are some real good ones and made my stay tolerable. Thank you
Helping so many people change their lives and finding their true sober clean selves.
I honestly cannot give this place even a star but I had to so I can post this. This place is a complete money grab for Medicaid. I showed up from a short term detox to be thrown into chaos. I was shown my room with no… sheets, blankets or pillow and left to fend for myself. I walked into the hall and was completely ignored by the two individuals supposedly in charge of 30 women on the floor. I was sent there with mental health issues and alcohol addiction. I waited for an hour and a half to get my medication and was told they didn't have it. But was offered melatonin and tylenol. The next day I discharged myself AMA. Today, I had to go on their website to get their phone number regarding my medication and I'm seeing what is on their website. Except for the main entrance, every picture is false. The place is covered in stained carpeting, riddled with flies, my room smelled horribly, my bathroom toilet I shared with 2 other women was covered in urine. There was absolutely no structure, guidance or mental help at all. There was supposed to be an AA Meeting my first night there but instead the staff decided the game "two truths and a lie" was more appropriate. Next morning, was chaos once again. I was visibly upset but was completely ignored by the aids. I was sitting in the hallway crying and told staff I was feeling suicidal and she said "OK, I'll tell someone." There was one group at 10am. The group leader read a passage from some religious book, two people responded, then everyone started talking about Halloween for about 10 minutes which lead to the group leader (a supposed trained counselor) showing pictures of her son who was recently thrown out of school because he had an explosive in his backpack. After that incident, I knew I wasn't going to receive the help I needed, so I discharged myself AMA. Just because you have to depend on Medicaid for insurance, doesn't mean you should be treated like this. I have been a productive member of society as a paralegal and paying taxes since the age of sixteen. I started working in the 80's and back then if you had a decent job, which I had while going to college full time and paying for it myself, you had health benefits. I'm just disgusted.
Pyramid saved my life. 30 year addict they helped to get my life back and break the chains of active addiction. I am so grateful an thankful for this program. Counselor Christy taught me so much about life, my emotions,… addiction an the whys of what I do. She truly is an angel disguised as Rehab counselor. Without her help I woulda left many times over. I am forever in debt to her and this program. Most of the staff truly care about my recovery. Christy showed me what a safe place is an gave me hope when I was hopeless. THANK YOU !!!!
This place is a great start to recovery. I left there sure i had my struggles but I'm happy to say i have been sober for over a year.
I’ve been to Pyramid multiple times and I felt welcomed and comfortable this time around. I had great groups with staff and it motivated me more in my recovery. I had a great detox counselor (Jen) who really helped me… and encouraged me to continue into the short-term program.
I’m 3 years clean and my journey started at Pyramid detox along with 30 days inpatient. At the time I wasn’t sure about staying clean but being there helped me make a decision that has changed my life. I remember a few… of the staff that helped me tremendously. Christy was one of them. I met her right away , she did my intake. I laugh at it today because she searched me and found a bag of heroine that I didn’t know I had. She threw it out for me and took the time to talk to me and get to know me as a person first. I will never forget her. She went above and beyond to help me make this decision. 3 years later and I am forever grateful.
I had a life changing experience at pyramid, I was kinda forced into recovery but after a few weeks things started setting in ,the staff is what makes pyramid work .my councilor Christy went above and beyond for all my… needs and still checks up on my progress, I actually miss being there , Suzette and Anthony were also so helpful and good hearted souls ,like I mentioned all the staff were so supportive and uplifting,I'm truly grateful I found pyramid , love Brian Cro
Pyramid saved my life I'm eternally grateful. The staff is great and my counselor Christy was/is amazing. If you wanna recover in a safe environment pyramid is definitely the place to go
I had hit the basement to my rock bottom, and went to pyramid in Hammonton NJ. The staff for the most part is very helpful and knowledge, there are more good BHT's then bad ones. The food is good not great but not slop,… plus they have an alternative list if you don't like the main meal. Most of the counselors on the men's side are wonderful as long as you are willing to put in the work they will match your energy. If you decide to go to long term counselor Christy is awesome, very knowledgeable she runs awesome groups. I don't think I would have taken my recovery so seriously if it wasn't for her and the few good guys I surrounded myself with, and still have a very close connection with. So I want to shout out definitely Ms. Christy, Dee my man, Kyle, Milton, Gene, Amanda, Kelsey, Kayla, nurse Donna and Diane. Thank you all for all your help and support!!!!
I was in desperate need of a better way to live. The staff was very kind and courteous and attentive. My counselor in long term Ms Christy was very knowledgeable and insightful. Treating addiction and healing the wounds… left by addiction was top priority. Pyramid rocks.
