Just wanted to quickly rave about Elise here at Denton MHMR in Flower Mound! She helped me take care of a medication issue for a family member and truly went above and beyond to help us. This is definitely what great… customer service looks like. Thank you so much, Elise, for your kindness and help!
Ambetter on IRN Scan appointment was done Agust 18th with one more May 27th 2025 from Solontris MD Agust 30th 2025 Insurance Angela Christine Jones my mom paid after Niel Physcriage was Solontris, redissinged, and… Bloodwork Papers. Binadrill Antalopine (5MG FOCLAIN XR (Concentration)) used.
Misdiagnosed and overmedicated by MHMR for years. Diagnosed Bipolar and I am actually Autistic. Instead of taking me off meds when I would have side effects they would add on more meds to combat the side effects. GO… ANYWHERE ELSE. They will give you copious amounts of medications here.
I really can't say enough positive things about the Denton County MHMR Center in Flower Mound. It is such a relief to be able to come here and get my meds and get connected to resources for counseling without having to… worry about my ability to pay 🙏🏾🥹🙏🏾 Dr. B is by far the most loving and holistically supportive psychiatrist I have ever encountered. He is a truly wonderful human being. The same goes for my case manager, Patricia. I always leave our conversations feeling lighter and wiser than when I arrived 🫶🏾 She also shared with me, and encouraged me to explore, low-cost counseling options, one of which led me to the TWU Counseling and Family Therapy Clinic where I met a life-changing therapist who fit me and my needs better than any therapist I've worked with before (AND I pay far less than I ever have for therapy). If you are like me in not having money for health insurance but need mental health support, including medication management, do not pass on Denton County MHMR. No business or public resource is perfect, but the positives here have consistently and far outweighed the negatives. I am grateful to everyone who I've interacted with, from front desk workers to nurses and nursing assistants to Dr. B and Patricia.
Staff is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I've been coming here for about three years and I'm so grateful for the services they provide.
Tacky Pavement! Jerrett Russell Jones, who I ODER TO REHAB, ON GIATORMOUS CONSTRUCTION!
Showed up to appointment at 1340, took them 35 minutes to tell me that I was late to my appointment. Leaving at 1415.
My friend is going here and has had to jump through hoops just to get his medication. They are constantly not filling his medication and are depriving him of his mental stability. Quality of care for their patients is… poor and borderline abusive. I am tired of him not having his medication and going into downward spirals every single month. He is not on any controlled substances and is being forced to come in every single month. His medication balances him and he is good on it and should only need to come in once every 3 months. As a medical assistant myself I would never send a patient here for mistreatment and abuse of their mental health. Who ever is in change it’s time for new staff.
They seriously need to improve their scheduling system and their communication amongst each other. After 2 stand-by appointments (which took them hours to tell me the original patient came to their appointment and I was… no longer on stand-by) I was scheduled a date SPECIFICALLY for ME, NOT another stand-by, and when I came in on MY TIME AND DAY, I was told I had nothing available for me. The lack of efficiency and communication between the Doctors and the front desk is severely messy, I believe that is why their appointment setting is sloppy. Here is my appointment card to prove I was told my date and time
The employees who work here do not care, most of them act agitated/annoyed and it is extremely difficult to get appointments made and get medication. I have run out of my medication twice already because the phones send… me straight to voicemail and they do not check or do call backs. I only just switch to the Lewisville location but I am going back to Denton Mhmr because the people in Denton actually care about their patients.
Horrible experience. The first time I came here every thing was great. A few years down the road and everything went down hill. Since enrolling again around May I've only seen my Dr once. They scheduled an appointment… and confirm the date. Came for the appointment and they had changed it t to the previous day without informing me so I missed it and now the Dr can't see me until next month but I won't be able to refills on my medication without seeing the Dr so I'm screwed. Definitely stay away from this place.
Amazing services by this location and this initiative as a whole. I thank the government and everyone associated with this program. I had kinda lost the hope before I met Dr B and his team. Great care and empathy by… them, they treat patients like family and advise them as their own. Dr B immediately caught the issue and adjusted medication which started showing results in a week’s time. I have not seen my kid this stable in a very long time. Dr B, you are god sent for my family. Truly, such a great community service. The case manager Ms Jordan is so proactive and gives importance to every detail and does follow ups on time. Keep up the great work, you are truly changing lives with your Great Karma! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Awful experience. Staff was clearly overworked, disorganized, and ill-informed on treating severe trauma patients. They will twist your words, they will isolate you and intentionally trigger you. This has been the most… traumatizing experience I've ever had in a health care setting. I will thank Jesus everyday that I will never be in or apart of this system designed to assault and harass our weakest members of society.
Trust is hard to earn but they earned it. I love all of you.
Great Place they really care for you and try to help with struggles you may have.
i have multiple many problems with mhmr since enrolling in July of 2023. this google account isn't mine so i'm anonymous. when i first enrolled i had an amazing case worker. then i was switched to a new one, who never… contacted me even though i tried to reach out multiple times, the only was i got a hold of her ONCE was calling the front and transferring me. she completely failed to manage my case. then i was switched to another case manager and was not informed. i only found out because i repeatedly emailed my previous case worker. i NEED rental assistance and my case manager didn't even know that they have that program available. there are so many reasons i am NEVER going with mhmr again. go somewhere better if you can.
It's disappointing and disheartening that they would hold your scripts hostage. Oh you've been taking the DAME MEDS FOR 7 YEARS. Let me just not fill them or send you refills. I called a week ago to set an appt. I… didn't get a call back so I showed up today. They do not care that I'm without my meds. MHMR NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN at this point. I wasn't the only upset patient there. They need to do better. Especially for the patients that are financially struggling with NO VEHICLE TO GET THERE.
They've always helped me with all of my needs. They're not pushy and don't try to shove all kinds of medication down my throat. The staff is great and they're very attentive. I'm in and out in a timely manner. I have… had zero issues with MHMR.
Pediatric psychiatrist Dr. Raj is great and has helped my son get on an effective medication treatment. Sharica is a great social worker. Front desk staff is friendly.
I finally felt heard and received proper diagnosis!
This long overdue as I have been reluctant to openly state my mental health needs. Reading the reviews I knew it was time to share my MHMR experience--they literally saved my life. Two and a half years ago, MHMR came… into my life when I was at my lowest point and in the ER. They advocated for me from the very moment they met me. I'm uncertain who called MHMR because the hospital had their own counselor talk to me. I spoke to MHMR first and was complacent towards them, even lying to them about my circumstance. The MHMR ladies who came to the hospital that night stayed with me, talking to the doctors, myself, talking to my family and working out a care plan for me. The hospital counselor was wheeled in by way of an iPad on what seemed to be one of those IV poles, it's not likely that it was. A teleheath meeting was impersonal. Only spending a short time talking with me (maybe 15 - 20 minutes it felt like). Then came the verdict, she decided I would spend time at an inpatient hospital. MHMR felt I required LOC5, though not in-patient. I agreed with them. However, the ER doctor (who was not the original doctor I spoke with), had other plans for me. Telling me I had to go to the hospital volunterraly or be admitted by them involuntarraly and have no less than a two week stay. I went volunterraly. Meanwhile, MMHMR continued to work with my family for a care plan while I was at Seay (hospital in Plano) and they were ready to stand by me when got out. I checked myself out within 24 hours. We called MHMR and they immediately stepped in and started my LOC5. From the ER, the hospital, therapy sessions, counselors and psychiatrist--they worked as a cohesive team to help me. They communicated with one another and I didn't have to repeat my situation, thoughts, etc when seeing the counselor or psychiatrist. MHMR diagnosed me, where others had not, nnorhad ever done a thurough evaluation. With my diagnosis, I received the proper therapy and medication. Two and a half years later, I am now 180° from where I was that night in the ER. I really don't know how they were contacted, but through the grace of God they walked into my life, I am so thankful. Especially the lady who came for MHMR. My counselors and psychiatrist were equally amazing. For the first time, I met complete strangers who genuinely cared about and invested their time in me. This was unfamiliar territory, though it was precisely what I needed. MHMR has a team who are paid a very low wage, yet they are there because of their passion to help people. Some may even be volunteers. MHMR, thank you for all you did and changing my life for better.
I would be dead if it were not for Denton County MHMR!! They put me through the program and helped me get out of the deep dark hole I was in. From them getting me into Mayhill and then in the residential program to… counseling at Flower Mound Office, Hope program, peer counseling. Also under Dr. Becky’s care who has worked tirelessly in getting my meds correct and been there for me throughout this journey. Jan at front is great! There has not been one person I have been in contact with over the last 2 1/2 years that has not been wonderful to me. Thank you to all!!!!
How does a county mental health resource service of this magnitude only have two (that's right 2) therapist, one gender, no hope of talking to anyone about anything for at least 2 years while on a waiting list. What if… I am suicidal?! Maybe I just need to get some s.. t off my chest, and I'd feel better. I don't do religion, but their answer to my therapist need is church. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? That and medication for diagnosises there is no medication for. Treat symptoms, treat symptoms, treat symptoms.... I haven't taken medication in years (my choice) Ave was prescribed three different medications all at the same time. How is this legal in this country? It's an outrage! My expression of that led to the response of the doctor and the case worker, both private conversations alone, if you don't want medication, what did you come here for? Once again, ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? I went to them because I suffer (sometimes bad, sometimes worse) of two very serious mood disorders, and occasionally anxiety based on my stability and reaction combining PTSD and current circumstances/situation. I want/need to know how to live life on life's terms. My inability to communicate myself effectively to other people outside my personal boundaries will not be increased in value of, nor in quality by slowing my brain function down, or stopping it all together like some of those I see standing out front waiting for whatever with the glazed over stare into nothingness, completely unaware of life around them, while self soothing work a slow, side to side rock. NO THANKS!! I'll just stay home and keep working on identifying my feelings and communication with family until I figure out what I have to do to get some damn help around here. To achieve mental health and not accept deprivity with a dumb smile!
This location operates much faster than the one in Denton.
Here I am on the verge of suicide and yet I still haven't gotten a call back. About ready to give up. Thanks mhmr.
