Council on Recovery – Houston Detox and Rehab Services

The provision listed at Council on Recovery – Houston is intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Day programming is scheduled, with evenings spent at home. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.

The record does not show integrated provision, so confirm this if it matters. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. Ask what a typical week involves before committing, since the schedule determines whether the program is workable alongside work or family.

Council on Recovery – Houston Address, Location and Contact Information

The facility address is 303 Jackson Hill Street, Houston, Texas, 77007. Harris County covers this area. People travel in from the surrounding area, and confirming the route beforehand saves difficulty. The practical question of getting to appointments week after week is worth thinking through at the outset.

It is worth calling first to confirm access, parking and the shape of a first visit. Where travel is difficult, ask whether an initial appointment can be held remotely. If the first call does not reach anyone, try again at a different time of day rather than assuming the service is closed.

If you or a loved one is touched by the effects of substance use, mental health, any number of addictions and you want to do something about it, like “recover” the Council offers some of the most comprehensive resources… available. It is hard to even begin to describe the impact they have in helping people live amazing lives in recovery. Their work in fighting stigma around substance use and mental health disorders, education and accessibility to a wide range of treatment options, the building and facilitating of strong and healthy communities. Their impact in the recovery community and at an individual level is unmatched. As a Recovery Coach I personally take advantage of so many of their resources and have met so many amazing people.

I had an excellent therapist at The Council. Lori helped me through a very challenging time in my life. She was compassionate and changed my views on certain things I was struggling with.

I began my journey of recovery for the first time with The Council in January. Truth be told, my check-in left much to be desired, but I realized January is a time when many try to turn their lives around being a new… year, and The Council was so backed up. Funding cuts don't help, thank our bureaucrats for that. HOWEVER, once I was in, their staff and services have been LIFE-CHANGING. The entire staff is super friendly, starting when you walk in the door and sign in the front desk. Everyone there shows courtesy and compassion. It shows they WANT to help. But I have mainly been under the care of Miss Debra and Raylon, who I must call out for changing my life thus far. Debra teaches a twice weekly class on everything that helps staying sober. From stress to anger management, self-care, negative self-talk, and more. I've heard the buzz words a million times, but her content goes DEEP and she makes it make sense! She shows HOW it all works with examples. She creates such a safe space that it's hard not to share while in group. No one stays quiet because you feel safe under her care. I LOVE her no BS attitude. She WILL see it. But it keeps you in check. She’s the most compassionate and understanding person. You can tell it’s in her heart to help people. Then there’s Raylon who as my (intern) 1:1 therapist, has been the most productive and excellent therapist, I’ve ever had. I’ve suffered from depression all my life, and have seen 5 therapist over the years. None ever came close to scratching the surface of my inner issues like Raylon. He actively listens, asks the right follow-up and deep questions, and he peppers in his own experiences, just enough to make it all make sense and connect the dots for you. It feels more like a conversation, than just only me speaking. I needed an active and engaging therapist, not just a listener or "talk-therapy", and he is exactly what I need. Both have been responsible for my life transformation and I couldn’t be more grateful for them and The Council as a whole and what they do. I utterly recommend The Council for your recovery and remember that although things may move a little slow sometimes, give it time and treat yourself with grace. Changing your life can’t be done over-night, but as long as you make tiny, little steps every day, they'll add up and count. Before you know it, you won't even recognize yourself, you'll be a brand new person living the most genuine life you want. All the best to your journey.

Ms Kim is amazing! Idk what department she works in or what her job title is but she helped me find treatment in my area and called to check on me everyday until I found placement. She made me feel like I matter and not… just another statistic. Thank u Ms Kim!

Shameful facility. They have contracted with 211 to get people in under false premises regarding payment. They charge 800 for an assessment/evaluation! Not treatment, an evaluation. NO SLIDING SCALE. Yes, it's insane… and clearly just for the very wealthy, because who else can or would pay that amount just to answer a questionairre? Also they don't take insurance for this service. Terrible. 2ll is reporting the assessments are free or sliding scale. This is incorrect information Council on Recovery is sadly turning its back on the most desperate people among us - those with addictions and living in poverty.

I was not aware of the side withdrawal effects that come with quitting alcohol, and how dangerous it is when someone is dependant and quits from one day to another. Luckily i found this facility were professional… employee Ramona returned my call from. She honestly, genuinely and willingly took her time to answer all the questions that I had and she guided me through the process of how to quit alcohol in a healthy way. Ramona successfully found a detox program that will help me deal with my horrible alcohol addiction and with the professional help that I need. Although Ramona doesn't directly deal with alcohol withdrawal problems. She was able to identify and guide me to the right person. Thanks Ramona and The Council on Recovery for all of your help!

Terrible !!terrible ! terrible.. So I called here for my 1st appointment which was today. After booking my first app which was today I was hesitant because of some of the bad reviews. Guess what I was right!!!!A lady… called me today that the person I was suppose to see called in sick. Is therapy something to play with? no mam this was the best thing that could have happened. This was the wrong place to start she express no empathy or concern then offer an app days later or for next week really? I am glad that app was cancel on their end I understand people get sick but should have at least sounded like she care but didn't said nothing felt nothing her responses where flat. Booking an appointment with people who do care to help me.

Staff was very rude. They offer no direct services to clients. They host meetings for recovery groups and motivate you to go— but they don’t have clinicians on staff to help you like the last place I tried. I was… disappointed with my experience and found the staff to be lackluster all around.

This organization is great! The facility and parking feel safe & very clean. The staff at the front desk are always courteous and helpful. They offer many amazing services, I have felt very welcomed. The only bad thing… I can say is that in order to speak with anyone you must leave a message any time u call, they do call back within a day or 2, but if you miss their call you have to leave a message again and wait again a day or 2. It has taken me a week to finally speak with a person.

My brother came here in October to get help and they referred him to an inpatient rehab, that never helped him. The rehab place has had him on the wait list for 8 months since October and the council on recovery says… there’s nothing they can do. He’s more addicted than ever with no help in sight
