Fairfax Behavioral Health – Everett carries a listing for residential treatment. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.

The site is at 916 Pacific Avenue in Everett, Washington, 98201. This address falls in Snohomish County. Provision extends to the wider area, so check the journey before you set off. My experience at Fairfax Hospital was honestly much more meaningful than I expected, and I am truly grateful for the people who were there for me during such a difficult chapter in my life. What stood out to me the most… was how many staff members went beyond simply doing their jobs. I felt genuinely cared for, listened to, and treated like a person. There were so many little moments of kindness, encouragement, laughter, and understanding that made a difficult experience feel a little easier. I was especially amazed by Mannon, the yoga teacher. Her yoga groups were something I genuinely looked forward to. She brought such a peaceful, positive energy into the room, and I really appreciated the way she made the group feel welcoming and comfortable. Yoga gave me a chance to slow down, breathe, reconnect with myself, and have a peaceful moment when I really needed one. Michael was another person who really stood out to me. He was both a tech and a group teacher, and I really appreciated his kindness, patience, and the way he interacted with everyone. He helped make the groups enjoyable and created an environment where I felt comfortable participating and being myself. The groups at Fairfax were honestly wonderful. They gave me opportunities to learn, reflect, connect with other people, be creative, laugh, and take my mind off everything I was going through. I also really enjoyed music therapy. I cannot remember the music therapist's name, but I want to mention how much I appreciated that experience because it was such a meaningful and enjoyable part of my stay. Music can reach you in ways that words sometimes cannot, and having that outlet was really special. And I absolutely have to give a special shoutout to Larry, one of the techs. I LOVE Larry! 😂 He is hilarious and such a dork, which is probably why I connected with him so much because I am a dork too! His sense of humor brought some much needed laughter and lightness into my days. Sometimes having someone make you laugh during a really difficult time can mean so much more than they realize. Monica was also incredibly sweet, and I really appreciated her kindness and caring personality. She was one of those people who made me feel comfortable and supported, and I am thankful for that. Looking back, I am grateful that my experience at Fairfax included so many moments that helped me feel like myself again. I remember the groups, the laughter, the conversations, the activities, and especially the people who made an effort to connect with me and make my days a little brighter. Fairfax was there for me during a very difficult time in my life, and I will always be grateful to the people who helped me through it. Thank you to everyone who showed me compassion, patience, kindness, and understanding. You may not always realize how much the little things mean to someone who is struggling, but I not

My son went into this place mid April .. bottom line is he was worse coming out than when he went in the facility. he began to have new issues that were never an issue going in and We recently found out it was because… of a medication that he was receiving in a shot previously that they doubled up on in pill form.when he came out of the facility he was living with dramatic harsh symptoms from this for over two months until he finally got help for it. They did not do their due diligence to look at medications he was previously on to make sure they didn’t double up

Horrible place. It highlights everything wrong in this country with mental health care!

This place exceeded my expectations but still has work to do. I've had awful experiences with residential centers in Utah so the bar is very low. The staff here are kind although as a patient there's a level of advocacy… you need to have as the staff seem too busy a lot of the time, presumably due to understaffing. There are some exceptional staff who did a particularly good job at making me feel human and cared for. my case manager was difficult to get ahold of. I wish she were more transparent about what she's working on that's making her too busy to talk since I didnt see her for most of my stay. I do also wish she didn't interrupt in conversation as much. But she did take my wishes for discharge into account Phones aren't allowed due to HIPAA privacy so I drew some views inside the unit. The rooms and hallways are very spacious and each bedroom has its own bathroom. Multiple people used wheelchairs and there was ample space for everyone to get around

If I could give 0 stars I would. This hospital is NOT a place for healing, if you come here there is a 99.99% chance of leaving with PTSD. It's been a little over a year since I was there, it's taken me this long to… muster up the courage to leave a review. I still have nightmares about being there. While I was there, my body was violated by the staff members! I was horrified they didn't tell me what they were doing. They just put me in a small room and did their thing. No one talked to me. No one explained anything to me. I was so dehydrated no one told me how to get water. I thought I wasn't allowed to have water. I thought I wasn't allowed to have hygiene products. No one told me that I was allowed to have them. Nobody gave me any hygiene products. All they do there is drug you. I never meet the doctor, how can I take meds when I don't even know the side effects or what I'm being given and without meeting with a doctor. They're drugging you, What seems to be almost every few hours. You were guaranteed to go through withdrawal when you leave. My biggest problem is no one listen to me. It seems like no one there spoke English and if they did they had such a heavy accent, You couldn't understand anything they were saying. The only time any staff members who actually spoke English came out was during visiting day. This place will make you feel like you're going crazy. There is nothing to do but stare at the walls being trapped with. Your thoughts is scary. There's nothing to stimulate your brain. Literally nothing. They take away everything. You can't do anything but stare at the walls. The human brain needs stimulation. I don't know how many staff members I told this but over and over again to different staff members I told them that I have dyslexia I cannot read. So every time they gave me paperwork and I told them I didn't want to sign it because I didn't know what I was reading. They forced me to sign it anyways. I asked if they could please read it to me and they didn't. They told me to just sign it, It was fine. I am not comfortable with the fact that I have no idea what I signed. I felt very forced to sign paperwork. I I don't even know what I signed. I have a reader on my phone so I'm able to have my phone read to me what's on my screen and I use text to speech. This is how I get around. I also have some serious medical conditions, one of which almost got me killed while I was in there. Thank goodness my roommate was there. She saved me. Staff members were completely useless. If it hadn't been for my roommate, I probably would have died. Also no one told me how to use the phone. No one told me that there was a passcode to put into the phone before putting in the phone number you want. So I thought the whole time I was being locked out of the phone that I wasn't allowed to use it. Little did I know you just needed the passcode the passcode that no one told me. So the only time I could talk to my family is if they called me because I was unable to call them. Apparently they gave it to me on a piece of paper, a piece of paper I could not read! After my roommate got released i was scared for my safety and I told my family this on the phone. My family helped me and told me about AMA. If you get sent to this place I highly suggest you get AMA it means you can leave. They don't tell you this mostly because they don't tell you anything. I can sincerely say this place is not safe. This place is not okay for people with disabilities. This place is not okay for people with medical issues. This place is not okay for anyone! This place should be shut down! There's so many more things that happened there that I'm not putting in this review. So much happened that it is not possible for all of it to fit. I should probably just make a book actually explaining everything. Probably make a movie! I hope for the people who are in there right now survived this place so-called "hospital".

I was in for 11 days due to self harm, suicidal ideation and was generally not stable. The staff were incredible. Ousman was always positive and happy, zemen always was open to have a talk, benson was also super… talkative (even though he liked to use air quotes a lot) ali was amazing and so were the staff in the kitchen. Mental health staff go through so much abuse it's not even funny. They genuinely want to help and yet people scream at them because they actually have to put in the work to get better and they don't want to. The only problem I had while I was there was the dietician. She did not know how to put in a diet restriction for a gastric bypass patient and when I would try to explain it, she would talk over me and not listen. So almost the entire stay there I could barely eat anything but the kitchen staff were really sweet and tried their best. I also would have my meds switched and stuff and I wasn't communicated with about some of it but I'm much more stable. It is also really hard to read the case managers writing so I can't read my diagnosis and I'm trying to get a copy of my medical records so I have them and do do my outpatient providers.

My son was hospitalized for a month at Fairfax. He did really well, was treated with respect and kindness and appreciated how the staff encouraged him to try and do the best he can. He ended up drawing a lot, that… allowed him to find a positive, peaceful outlet as he was healing.

I know someone that was released from Everett FF after a suicide attempt, she tried to get her medical records and could not get any help for this, as she is not doing well , she broke the door in anger . Instead of… getting her help they charged her with a felony, now has to deal with court. To me this seems like a continuing mental health crisis and I hope there could be help for your patients in cases like this , not just jail time . Seems like a need for further mental Health evaluation and evaluations to see if the medication plan will even help her. Thank you staff for all you do being over worked but please 🙏 help her .

The staff are overworked and major oversights can happen. They continuously raised the dose of a medication, despite me reporting extreme side effects. The pharmacy also smelled like urine. They said they'd lower the… dose because I didn't even need to be on this substance, and they forgot. They don't make voluntary stays easy to leave either. I felt trapped most of the time and it didn't feel like mental health care. I gave two stars because it wasn't all bad. I made friends with many of the fellow patients and the food was uncharacteristically good.

If I could give this 0 stars I 100% would. There's so much mistreatment. We had a patient have a heart attack, nobody came by for a solid 30 minutes till he fell to the floor. Then they made him sleep through the night… and he had worse problems from it. They threw away my jewelry, they lost my lotion. They would purposefully trigger us. Anytime I asked them to leave me alone so I could take a breather they would either stand right outside my door or ignore the fact I told them to leave me alone. They've yelled at multiple patients. When we go to the window it took them forever to notice us for water or snacks. One male nurse walked in on a female patient when she was in the shower and stared at her. One person had a vape in their luggage and they threw it away (she's 25) while another patient had 3 strapped to him and they let him keep all 3. The only thing they do here is medicate us. There was another patient who was on so many meds he would fall asleep standing, fall everywhere, and he could barely open his eyes. Then they got onto him for voicing the fact that he can't even stand. This place is absolutely awful. If anything I came out worse than when I got there. Then when I was getting discharged they told me that they would love it if I worked there. Which is extremely unprofessional. All the nurses fight with each other or make one specific nurse do everything. I've heard nurses talking horribly about all the patients saying "these people are all on meds but they don't act like it" This is not a "voluntary" hospital. If you ask to get discharged early they'll either send you to their involuntary or give you an ama.

Edit: I have dropped one star because I have emailed and called them multiple times asking if they accept book donations and I have not received an answer back. For what it was I don't really have any major complaints.… Whole time I was there I felt safe and that they had my best interest at heart and we're friendly. You can tell the staff is overworked so be patient and don't expect them to always be in a super cheerful mood 24/7. Most of the staff when they're not busy don't mind making small talk with you which is nice. Food was good and they don't mind giving you seconds every now and then. There were plenty of activities to do during the day. I don't know if it's changed since I was there last summer but it was disappointing that the activities schedule they had was out of date and listed a bunch of activities I wish I could have done that weren't available. Book selection was terrible. If it's possible I recommend donating some just make sure they're appropriate. I don't know if they're still allow donations though. If one of the other patients starts acting up they're on top of dealing with them and separating them from the others. I was having a severe anxiety attack that lasted two days when I first got there and I'm not really sure how much could have been done aside from what they did which was keeping me from self harm and constantly adjusting my medication so I really can't say whether or not they did especially well in that department. Although I will say they did a lot better job as far as taking my anxiety seriously than the last place I was at that either never had dealt with somebody having an anxiety attack before or were completely clueless on how to handle the situation. You get visiting hours but not as much as other places I've been to. Not that it's bad. Overall during my stay I'd say that 90% of the negative experience was from my internal condition not external forces while I was there. FOR EVERYONE READING THIS REVIEW PLEASE PLEASE VOTE IN YOUR LOCAL ELECTIONS TO MAKE SURE PLACES LIKE THIS GET MORE FUNDING. IT’S DISGUSTING HOW MANY POLITICIANS MAKE IT THEIR SELLING POINT TO CUT SPENDING TO IMPORTANT PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS LIKE THIS. REMEMBER, INACTION IS AN ACTION.

I had a horrible experience at this hospital. First off, the place smelled like urine. Within hours of being there I got yelled at for asking for a sandwich at snack time. I hadn't eaten in 40 or so hours and didn't… know what they had. She did make me a sandwich after all but still..It was loud the entire time of people yelling at the workers. The Dr. Spent just 30 seconds a day with me and I didn't receive one of my medications (or at the right dose) for 2 days and at discharge 1 of them still wasn't the right dose. The entire 2nd shift were rude and inconsiderate. They ignored some people completely and obviously which would make them yell louder. When I refused to take my meds because they weren't getting them right, A nurse told me he didn't care if I took my meds, his only job was to offer them to me. They had 15 minute checks day and night, but they wouldn't just poke their head in, oh no, they would come in my room, shuffle papers on their clipboard write a note then leave without cracking the door again (your door isn't supposed to be closed while your in it). I honestly didn't have a moments peace the entire time I was there and I will NEVER go to that awful place again..thanks for nothing you garbage pile of a hospital.

I went there for paranoia / anxiety and I was treated with so much care and respect! Highly recommend. The staff is super helpful and kind. They have lots of activities to do and really cool groups that they do every… day to keep you occupied. They also give tons of information on how to be more positive and live a more positive lifestyle, which helped me a lot. They give tips on coping and stress relief as well. All around great experience and I would go back if I had to! :)
