Riverside Community Care – Somerville Reviews and Ratings
Riverside Community Care in Somerville can be understood partly through its license and accreditation, and partly through what patients say. Read their reviews here, and leave one if you have been in treatment at the facility.
As an outpatient there with anxiety for several years, I left detailed voice-mails for a MONTH asking for contact info for my therapist, for the program director, and for others. I tried reaching the receptionist, the… administrative coordinator, the director, and on and on by phone to get better numbers and/or email info. Either calls were returned with voice-mails saying "I heard you called about ...," or "How may I assist you?" or "Call me back," or similar inanity while the simple basic info I was seeking was never provided. Is this facility really staffed by insane asylum escapees?
The people who work there now that I engage with on a weekly basis are kind, and supportive.
They always sucked. I had a bad experience with a councilor who left the Riverside without any notice. DCS on Mystic Ave Medford, Ma will be your best choice. They really care and work with you. Riverside is one of the… worse places.
Riverside Somerville has been a staple in my recovery. However, this latest mass layoff is beyond lack of professionalism and care for marginalized communities. The absolute disregard for those they're responsible… doesn't come as a surprise. Riverside Community Care has a history that preceded them. Since 2018, I have seen them shut resources to the mental health community. It's a disgrace, and the state and federal government should investigate this organization for misappropriation of funds and negligence. In 2018, they shut down a day program with more than 150 patients. Not long before that, they shut down a day program in Somerville, Red House. Now this.is their latest stunt of negligence and misappropriation of funds. Don't use them. They're unreliable, and the staff and patients don't deserve this. If I could give a zero.
My family has been connected with RCCOC for a few years. Overall I've been pleased; yet, the last 2 weeks have brought such angst and disappointment I can't look past it. Dropping /laying off therapists and closing a… child psychiatry department with no plan or transition available leaves many families in great harm!!! Communication has been awful as clinicians are finding out just in time to tell patients with little understanding or explanation available.. run!! Look elsewhere!
0 stars. Mass layoffs are causing real issues with care. Families and clinicians alike were given zero consideration. This organization cannot be trusted. Find care at the home for little wanderers. Do not give this… organization your time or money. They are not trustworthy, they do not have transparency.
This organization is questionable at best. Right now Their wait list is CRAZY long due to poorly planned mass layoffs. The lack of consideration this organization has shown not only to clients but the clinical staff is… DISGUSTING. I'm disheartened. Finding decent mental grant care is difficult and organizations like this display this level lack of care it hurts every part person who needs help. Get your services elsewhere. This is NOT a safe place. My thoughts are with families and staff that have been thrown out with no notice. I am disgusted on your behalf and i wish I could something.
⚠️ Content Warning: Mentions of suicidal thoughts/attempts I had an extremely harmful experience at Riverside Community Care – Somerville Outpatient Center. The therapist I saw repeatedly dismissed my concerns and… quickly labeled me as having “psychosis” without genuinely listening to me. Every session felt like I was being judged, and not supported. She insisted on medication and made me feel like I had no choice in my own treatment. I wasn’t seen as a person — just a diagnosis. Under her (therapist) care, I attempted suicide twice. That’s how damaging and traumatic this experience was. Instead of helping me feel safe or understood, I felt more hopeless, unheard, and completely alone. I’m sharing this so others know what to expect. Mental health care should be compassionate, collaborative, and respectful — none of which I experienced here. Wish I could rate Zero but google does not allow me to rate such. 1 star is sufficient. I would not recommend this location to anyone.
I don't know? What is going on in health care ? Extremely poor services. They don''t seem to care about your life. Things don't become resolved. They couldn't rectify my medication.
They are very kind and help the children a lot. I recommend them to all parents whose children have needs. They have very good therapists, the best therapies for children.
they really help you out if you're willing to work with them
I was a client at the lifeskills program,, it was one of the best mental health based programs i've ever been to (i was there for several months) honestly very helpful!!
This facility never picks up the phone and have no care for your concerns. The Meeting place by far is one of the most unprofessional organizations and do nothing to help you with seeing your child. No one takes… responsibility for their actions. It's always someone else's fault to why no one is there to do there job.
