ROOTS at Evergreen Grove – Gardner

I was a resident there for about 6 months before I was discharged for not following the rules. I will always be grateful for the farm. I learned a lot of stuff there and interacting with the animals is something I will… forever cherish. So if you or someone you know is trying to go to the farm here's a few things to keep in mind. Following the rules is very important and they are in place for a reason. You may think that some of them are stupid but again they are there for a reason. Take advantage of everything that is offered and if you need something ask. Always give 100% while working with the animals, you'll love it. The animals are special and I promise you you'll fall in love with them. DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS!!!!!. This Is one of the rules I had a hard time following. Some of them are on medication, some are on special diets and they can also get sick. The farm can be a really good place if you listen to suggestions, take your recovery serious and hold yourself accountable when you need to. Remember that this is your life you're fighting for and you are worth it.

So i must say, and not to try to scare you but if you was to be successful at your recovery like me, this is not the place. False promises, not able to follow through. Suppose to be a dual diagnosis facility, they can't… work with people with mental illnesses as promised. What they had done to me by taking my phone's and temt to break password to enter and invade my privacy. That was the cook and assistant director in which as another worker guarded. He was so upset what they did that he couldn't hold it from me. When I notified gaama of what they did, they said they will take care of situation. Also my counselor Bryan forced me to go to an AA meeting in small room while having an anxiety panic attack so bad I ended in hospital for two weeks. When I came back they dropped me off in front of Heywood hospital with my belonging and left me like a dog. People have suggested many times to file charges. Had they ruined my recovery as intended I would have but bcuz of their actions and the grace of god I'm 18 months clean. As our great father said, I will continue to guide you through good and bad as he lifted the anxiety from me to help continuing my recovery. Leave them for me now they will be judged. I said father not too hard as they no not what they do wrong or right and please watch over the beautiful animals and find someone better to care for them. Also whisper in iris the laama I'm always thinking of her. And as for the staff, I thank them, for their failures became my success.

Not only and I am Adam but I suffer from mental health as well that's why that place was supposed to be the perfect place for me for dual diagnosis one of… my major mental health issues was anxiety being in it and close places with a lot of people with trigger it Brian my counselor while I was having an anxiety attack forced me to go to an AA meeting that was packed full on a small room which triggered it so bad I ended up in a mental health facility for two weeks when I came back Brianna in charge of the animals had made up stories about my phone being used I'll wherever but I was using my phone taking pictures of the animals of course and I'm allowed to but whatever was said when I went in the assistant director and one of the alcoholics and Cooks Brian both took my phones and went into my phone and went through all of my pictures and stuff violating my rights they then said this is not going to work out for you here and drop me off at Heywood hospital like a dog said this is not going to work out for you and drop me off at Heywood hospital like a dog Heywood hospital was not pleased with them at all considering so they're supposed to specialize in dual diagnosis and couldn't even handle my anxiety at all I was actually thankful for what they did because I was able to get a lot more help leaving that place then being there because they do absolutely nothing for anybody the horse tender Brianna should not be there the drunk cook shouldn't be there in the assistant and director shouldn't be there they all violated my rights neither should my counselor for forcing me to go into a group while I was having a major anxiety attack if they can't handle mental health issues they can't they shouldn't be running a dual diagnosis facility. I'm now Adding to my post after discussing this further with some of my case managers, I have decided to file charges. Thought I am now 11 months clean and stronger, I had went through hell to maintain. It's not about me it's so they learn how to run the program better so if this happens to others they may not be as fortunateas me. I have Heywood hospital to back me up

Don't call & ask what they do. The guy that picked up, hung up on me right away. Very rude and unprofessional!

Read the fine print. Resting, laying down, sleeping before 9 pm is considered a violation of policy and will get you written up, expelled. Avoid.
