Steppingstone Inc – 466 North Main Street, Fall River

Stepping stone is by far the worse place ever this includes for clients and employment i wouldnt recommend it to no one there are by far better places

This is for the New Bedford location that clearly doesn’t have anywhere to leave reviews for a reason. I waited weeks patiently to come to this program and was extremely hopeful about my future and excited to start my… recovery journey. I was 100% willing to participate fully in the program and even try things I’ve never done. I went there with a completely open mind. Unfortunately this place was a huge let down. It’s not supposed to be “peer lead” but it actually is and it’s sick. They set up a group hazing once a week for new women and anyone they decide they don’t like. On the walk home from an AA meeting, the other girls forced me to get in a strange man’s car that had drugs and guns or I’d get a 30 day violation?!? I didn’t even know where I was to walk home and I had no phone. It was terrifying. At this hazing event they tried to force me to listen to another girl scream at me and make threats because she was mad I wanted to follow the rules. She would masturbate in the middle of the night and moan loudly. Refused to let me use the light. Continued to bully me and make racist comments. It was entirely traumatic for me. She had a vape and drugs she’d use in the room. She continued to threaten me not to tell on her or I’d be in trouble. I wasn’t allowed to speak up. I grabbed all of my belongings and left. Kelly did nothing to hear me and continued to tell me I needed to leave or she was calling police. They left me with a dead phone and bags of belongings on the corner of New Bedford where I stood for hours waiting for family. This type of treatment to a post partum mother early in recovery is SICK. I was promised a room for mothers by myself so my daughter would be able to come with me and the single women rooms were actually just given to favorites in the house, so I wasn’t able to bring my daughter as promised I already had brought it to multiple staff members attention prior to this as calmly as possible to avoid conflict and they entirely failed to resolve the problem. Multiple girls use drugs because tests aren’t consistent. It’s a terrible environment and I can’t believe I was supposed to bring my infant there.yuck. Someone call DCF and the board of health I was left homeless and thankfully have managed to maintain sobriety and do better on my own FASTER. THIS PLACE IS SCAMMING THE GOVERNMENT They also STOLE presents from my mother I was gifted to celebrate my recovery and gave them to other women. The girl who bullied me had the rest of the women gang up on me and force me to do all of their chores. It was DISGRACEFUL. Do not come here unless you want a place to do drugs and to be told what to do by people who have low vibrational energy and zero common sense like Kelly. Stephanie is an angel and so is Ashley at the front desk, they should go work somewhere better before this place poisons their reputation.

Poorly run

The women’s program in Fall River has helped me so much. At first I thought it was too strict with too many rules but there’s definitely a reason for all of them. Staying in the program for one year then moving to the… grad house for 11 months helped me alot with getting back on a schedule and living a normal life. I will forever be grateful for this place and the awesome staff that helped me along the way.

The place was just a disaster across the board!

What a place to kick back and waste your time I say this because that's what I did 6 months of hell staff was lazy staffed depended on you to do everything and them just walk around and tell people all about their… failures and how you will get kicked out for this you will get kicked out for that but nothing I mean nothing they do over there is to see you succeed they're all about money they're all about them I would never recommend that place ever God bless anyone who thinks that place is going to help them Good luck

Hard to trust the staff

Steppingstone, Inc. is a great place for those struggling with substance use disorder and homelessness. It's clear that each staff member is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of those they serve. It is… a great option for those looking for quality service and compassionate care.

Steppingstone is a great place filled with dedicated staff who genuinely care about the lives they’re impacting. I would highly recommend Steppingstone’s services to those struggling with homelessness and substance use… disorders.

I was there in 2008, i was paroled from jail and was an absolute mess i never thought I'd succeed and here i am in 2023 still clean. All the little things like making my bed, doing chores, taking accountability for my… actions ect. made a huge difference. sure there have been some struggles along the way but i am a father of 4 and my kids are happy and healthy. if it wasn't for steppingstone idk if my kids would even have a father to love and love them. I highly recommend to anyone whose 100% serious about getting and staying clean.

Terrible program I had got a false positive and they kicked me out I wouldn't be mad if I really had a positive urine but it was definitely a mistake they didn't even investigate that probably one or more of my meds… probably set off the false positive it's a shame they didn't fight for me they didn't even care staff is neglectful and the coordinator at the transition house is rude it's like there always looking for clients doing wrong instead of focusing on the positive

If you want to stay clean, this place is great for structure. I was with a lot of amazing people who wanted recovery. I made great connections, and the staff was accommodating. Kelsey, Rachel, Courtney, and Melissa were… awesome! As for getting your phone, you have to wait until you’re a phase 2. It’s definitely unsafe to be walking in Fall River without a telephone, and hopefully this will be addressed. The woman who runs the kitchen is an absolute nightmare, and treated us so disrespectfully. I definitely won’t miss her or her disgusting food. I don’t know how she still has a job!

I was at the Steppingstone house in Fall River Ma.2017-2018. It's not an easy program and they definitely test your willingness and if you're really serious about recovery. You have to want it and work hard to get it.… I'm not going to say I loved being there but I definitely appreciate everything they did for me! I'm 5 years clean, have a fabulous job, I've been married over 7 years and I've never been happier! I probably wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for Steppingstone. The staff is wonderful but tough, they don't play around. I would absolutely recommend going here if you want to change your life!

By all means this is the worst place in the history of Massachusetts. I thought HRI hospital in Boston was bad. This is by far way worse. My fiancé just got here today a few hours ago n we both hate it already. He can’t… really call at all. He can’t leave for at least a month. There’s absolutely no way for us to communicate. Whenever I tried calling to ask to even talk to him for at least 5 mins the people hung up on me. It’s honestly ridiculous.

This program led the court to believe j could be reunification with my daughter there even though they said they had found a red bull in my trash then less than 24 hrs after talking to the court knowing I was goingng to… be reunification with my daughter within a few days at the latest 30 days kicked me out due to that red bull. J was left heartbroken after several months of treatment and faith in this program. I don't suggest going here if that is your goal. If you are going for treatment just for yourself it would be an OK option but reunification or pregnancy id suggest another program.

Worse house ever. I didn't stay clean there. The staff is abusive and the people who live in this house were ranked meaning if you don't fit in you never will they will kick you out for.anything another resident says… without investigating the complaint. It's a great place to go if you want to fail. I was there and 4 people relapsed. Lol good going Ritchie you never got me to fail just to realize you were only there for the grant money and my money. PLEASE DON'T GO TO GET HELP HERE!!! YOU WONT GET IT TINA SHAW. I SWEAR I HOPE YOU REMEMBER ME

I can't believe this program is still going. I alive today because of Stepping Stone. I was treat there 27 years ago from stepping stone. Although I didn't stay sober, but I am now I think about this program often. I… had a T-Shirt for many years with this treatment center on it and wore it proudly until about 10 years ago. I finally had to throw it away because it was so worn out. It's been many years and I am sure that most of the stuff has changed and the program to. I would just like to say I stay sober for many years because of this program. I did relapse but I am clean and sober today. Thanks Stepping Stone for giving me the foundation and for the countless u have saved.
