About NUWAY II – Minneapolis

NUWAY II sits at 2518 1st Avenue South, Minneapolis — around 4.3 miles from St. Louis Park and 4.4 from Lauderdale. Within around 5 miles that includes St. Louis Park, Lauderdale, Golden Valley and Falcon Heights. Minneapolis sits in Hennepin County, and the county’s own provision is limited enough that this site draws from a wide area.

NUWAY II provides residential treatment and sober living. Approved medication runs alongside counseling, which is what medication-assisted treatment means in practice. The facility treats addiction and mental health together. Telehealth appointments are available, which matters where the drive is long. Trauma-focused work forms part of the approach. NUWAY II is federally registered and licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

NUWAY II – Minneapolis Detox and Rehab Services

Care at NUWAY II – Minneapolis spans residential treatment and sober living. It is reasonable to ask how progress is reviewed and by whom. Ask what happens if the recommended level of care is not available immediately. Anyone can ask what a typical week looks like before starting.

Mental health and substance use are handled together rather than in sequence. Supported housing is available for people continuing treatment after a more intensive stage. Medication and talking treatment run together under clinical oversight. Waiting times vary, so it is worth asking at the first call.

Gross place. Rude staff, 10/10 would NOT recommend. This place needs to get new management and good cleaning done every week. No place for an addict to go that truly wants to recover. Just a place to get more… connections sadly!

I love Nuway house 2. Those blond haired ladies are the best. Shout out to Laynee and Gabby who rock.

Nuway House 2 was decent and provided good groups and information and much appreciated. The only complaint is why there is a man hating tech named KJ working there when she lacks empathy, awareness, kindness, and so… much more that would take some time to make a complaint about. KJ should not be working with men if she hates them. The program director was great as well and the 2 primary counselors were awesome.

Nu Way has truly changed my life. When I first arrived at Nu Way, I didn’t know what to expect, and to be honest, I didn’t think I would surpass a week. Then I met the staff, and everything changed, and I feel that is… the most important concept of treatment: the people around you and the staff that you are trusting with an essential part of your life. With that being said, I want to say “THANK YOU,” Nu Way, not just for being a great treatment program but a “LIFE” saving organization. You all saved my life and gave me the tools to fix my broken ways. 💯💯💯

Staff is more about shaming clients then helping them. Bob was cool.

I love this place I can’t stand the staff, I just completed 90 days there. On My day of completion I had to wait around at the house until 3pm for the Uber to the next place. As soon as I was officially not a client… anymore they showed their true colors as they were all being very short with me and treated me pretty nasty. I felt very uncomfortable. I couldn’t sit inside the warm house and wait I was told by the director I had to go sit in the freezing cold front porch. I needed my discharge papers to fax them over to Hennepin county to start my benefits back up. I had asked the director and he refused to give them to me for whatever reason. Anyway I’m just proud of myself for being strong enough to deal with nasty people like this for 90 days. I don’t recommend this place. :) btw I only liked Bob he’s a tech and he made my stay a lot more easy for me, Bob is a real one. ❤️

My son was blamed for having drugs in his room. They didn't take into consideration he has a roommate. He asked to be tested and they refused to test him or the roommate. Unfair is an understatement. Hire professionals… that care about people.

I love the place it was cool easy going the only downfall is not much activities going on after 2:00 you're like stuck inside if you don't smoke other than that it's a pretty laid back easy treatment. the facilitators… or workers or therapy or coach or whatever you want to call it they're awesome. Not a strict as I expected to be other than that it's cool just hella boring.

House 2 specifically has hand picked the rudest most indifferent and dishonest staff possible.. All the way up to the director katie being a man hater that enjoys harming patients seems to be the main criteria to work… at nu-way house 2.. If anyone is interested in getting help avoid this place like the plague.

The place is beautiful but the staff are so snooty and bossy. At other places at least the people who work actually care about you I'm disappointed 😔 they ruin it

Staff will help you towards the things that are best for you. Reamber you must work hard and show what you want.... Great food warm place. Great place to keep sober at. Just follow the AA program. AA has really helped… millions stay sober. Do not use your higher power as a door knob cause that door knob will turn on you.... God is my higher power. Prayer really helps God will send you on the right path. You will have to stay sober and work hard at it. Then God will guide you in the right path. Nuway will keep you in a safe place to work on that.

I went to residential treatment thru the program at Nuway house 2 . What disturbs me is soon as your discharge either by graduation or other reasons. You are no longer welcome to be there. Can't come by to smoke with… the guys you've made relationships with , or eat with them nothing at all . I personally stopped by couple days ago at 7 am I was having a difficult morning and the tech on duty B:N , shued me away like I was dirt , no compassion at all ! Just really feel let down and disappointed by this as they preach and preach to make connections and start sober relationships with the other guys in treatment then why after we graduate can't we stop by to see them occasionally . It really made me feel unwanted and depressed. I literally cried as I walked away . Too bad one person can ruin a two month experience.
