About NUWAY III – Minneapolis

NUWAY III sits at 2104 Stevens Avenue, Minneapolis — around 4.2 miles from Lauderdale and 4.5 from Golden Valley. Lauderdale, Golden Valley, St. Louis Park and Robbinsdale all sit within 5 miles of the door. Minneapolis is in Hennepin County, which shapes which public funding routes apply.

Treatment here covers residential treatment and sober living. Buprenorphine, methadone or naltrexone can be prescribed alongside therapy. Both conditions are worked on in parallel, which is what the evidence supports. Telehealth appointments are available, which matters where the drive is long. The facility provides trauma-specific treatment. SAMHSA holds the federal registration; the Minnesota Department of Human Services the state license.

NUWAY III – Minneapolis Detox and Rehab Services

NUWAY III – Minneapolis runs residential treatment and sober living. What suits one person will not suit another, so ask directly. It is reasonable to ask how progress is reviewed and by whom. Ask what happens if the recommended level of care is not available immediately.

Addiction and mental health are worked on at the same time here. Transitional accommodation appears on the record for the period after intensive treatment. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. Ask what the assessment recommends before comparing anything else.

I went there in 2021 and I've relapsed only twice. For as bad as I was thats amazing. The staff was amazing. Unfortunately its not like it was. Prisons are letting people out early as long as they go to a rehab center.… I tried to go there after my second relapse but I was the only one who didnt just get out and I was the only alcoholic. I left after two days. Its too bad its like that now

This is the worst treatment center. There is no structure. Drugs going on . No consequences. It is an absolute circus. Chaos. Couldn't see a counselor for almost 3 weeks when I had asked for the 4th time. She was… useless.. There web page is completely false. They DO NOT offer ANYTHING they say they do. Director Allyson does nothing. She is completely unqualified. I have never seen such an unhealthy, unorganized environment. I would run if you are even thinking of going here for help. You will NOT get it.

UPDATE: go to any Nuway and ask for a grievance to file against Jac. They will call you within days. We all must do this. I thought I was going to come on here and say that despite Jac Clingerman hating you that it was… still possible to do the program. I was wrong. He kicked me out the day before I graduated because another resident told him I was working. He had been trying to kick me out since I got there but I followed the rules and he couldn't. He allows people to relapse and come back but I couldn't do volunteer work and buy the girls that helped me cigarettes and lunch. He should not be in the position he is in. Also, this is a letters program and I respect that. If you wanna be called a dog I will call you a dog but in group I was forced to say my pronouns and I feel like that is a violation of my rights. I was told if I didn't comply then this wasn't the program for me. I'm hoping another investigation on Jac comes about and please contact me when it does. I have a lot written down from both times I was there. I also have recordings of conversations.

I absolutely love this program i would recommend it to everyone! It's a simple program and as long as you follow the rules you are rewarded with daily passes not to mention the staff here are great! I feel like a lot of… the negative reviews just aren't true but unruly past patients who were given chances but didn't want to change so when they were asked to leave they were petty and left bad reviews which is unfortunate because it doesn't depict this place at all. The quality of the house as a whole has to come first over one person's situation because if the house isn't good people don't feel safe and you can't recover in an environment like that. I would come back here 10/10 times!

JAC PROGRAM COORDINATOR WAS VERY DISRESPECTFUL! THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN! They tried to force me to sign ROI for people outside of the program. I decided to leave. That is ILLEGAL. I will be reporting this place… and I hope all the other people who have stumbled along this place during recovery do as well this is no place for woman in recovery!!

This is hands down one of the worst treatment facilities ever. As with all of the other comments and reviews, staff are horrible to clients and do not give disciplinary action to clients that are re-triggered/re-lapse… and hurt others in aggressive ways. It is clearly not a well run treatment center, doesn't prioritize a dual diagnosis aspect of the program. And if it is your first time in treatment and you don't know what to expect, DO NOT GO HERE.

This place was so toxic. As a professional I would never work there. The person running the facility should not be running it. They don’t do anything about other clients doing things that triggers your trauma. They will… turn it around and use it against you somehow. The counselor is going to school to be a mental health counselor and she should stay far away from the mental health field. She has no compassion for her clients. This is a place that should help people in need but it’s a very toxic environment. Staying here for 30 days or so has me left feeling traumatized and broken.

There are privileges here you can't get in most other treatment facilities. Yeah, you have to be to group on time obviously. If it's an emergency you can use the bathroom. It's your responsibility to check off your… chore, that's not negligent lol Nursing and tech are two different positions and I believe sometimes clients get this confused. Nurses are there more so during the day and morning. If you want help, go here. ❤️

If you suffer from mental health, want to have a successful journey to the life of sobriety, or have any medical problems DO NOT GO HERE. It is unsafe, unsanitary, and you will be mistreated. The staff are horrible to… the clients. They are negligent and punish you for things such as forgetting to sign off on your chore, being 2 minutes late to a meeting, or even needing to go to the bathroom during groups. There were multiple medical errors and 2 medical emergencies. They denied giving me my prescribed medications because I was outside of their med times (by 45 minutes because the clients were allowed to be up later on weekends). As a result, I began to withdraw from my prescribed medications and got sick. On another occasion there was a client in hypertensive distress. She had a blood pressure well over 250/110… yes, you read that right. There was a registered nurse in the room that told her to just go lie down on her bed and rest. The nurse, nor any other staff, checked on her as she was lying down for well over an hour. I found her later in her bed (we were roommates) and she was showing very specific stroke-like symptoms. No one called for emergency medical services of any kind. Being a previous medical professional, I transported her to the hospital immediately. All staff, including the “head of the house” had been made aware of the concerns clients have for safety and yet they took that as a reason to retaliate against their clients instead of taking the opportunity to improve and actually do what they advertise their services to be.
