I've been 5 years sober. I have had really good counselors and counselors that were okay. I have dealt with mostly good people That work in the front office, there's a new one that's been there for several months that… doesn't really seem to get me or understand me, and I don't really seem to get along with her. She's kind of judgmental and puts her nose in places that don't belong when it's not her call or her business, it's really unfortunate, because I would think that she would try to understand people that are going through this program due to the trauma that brought me here because of the trauma, I would numb myself by using... so I'm grateful that this place got me sober and tries to document everything.So if I have children , it protects me in a lot of ways , because i'm doing everything i'm supposed to be doing. I'm almost off. I'm scared when I get down to 1 mg. Because I know I'm going to suffer and if you have insurance, this is a place to go. I feel like this because Your recovery is consistent unless you have income. For me, I have no income.I'm doing it by myself with my insurance's Help. And I am a parent that is doing it on my own, 100%, I love A lot of support. They're pretty understanding. A few times outside incidents happened here at this program and the front desk staff have helped me get through it when I was being sexually harassed. They don't work there anymore , but I really miss them. Regardless , I have a lot of support with most of the people there. There are people there that have gone above and beyond for me. And I am so grateful for that. It's getting better there in a lot of ways for sure.

I’ve been a patient at Aegis Treatment Center for several years and Im always surprised to see how positive and friendly they are. Working with people in recovery can’t be easy, yet the staff continues to show up every… day with the same positive attitude and willingness to help. After several years at Aegis, that consistency is something I’ve come to genuinely appreciate. The program helps make withdrawals more manageable while giving you the time and stability to move beyond the vice that brought you there. Just as importantly, it helps you work through the mental side of recovery, which can often be the biggest challenge.

Great staff

Aegis Simi Valley has been one of the few places where I’ve truly felt supported, understood, and treated like a human being — not a problem to solve. The staff here shows a level of compassion that you can feel the… moment you walk in. They’re non‑judgmental, warm, and genuinely invested in the people they help. I’ve watched them care for others with the same patience and respect they’ve shown me, and it’s clear this isn’t just a job to them. Dr. Harris has been especially meaningful in my recovery. Being seen and understood on this level is rare, and it’s made a real difference in my ability to keep moving forward. At the front desk, Stacey and Agustina greet you with kindness that makes even the hardest mornings feel manageable. Carol, the director, leads with heart and strength, and it shows in the entire atmosphere of the center. The nurses — Alicia, Whitney, and Skye — are compassionate, steady, and encouraging in a way that makes you feel safe during some of the most vulnerable moments of your life. This team has helped me find my footing on my journey to sobriety. I’m deeply grateful for their support, their patience, and their belief in me when I struggled to believe in myself. I just courtesy dosed here today because my regular clinic in Pasadena was closed due to the fires. All i can say is, WOW! The clinic was beautiful, the staff was very friendly and it was so fast! Only at Aegis can you… courtesy dose at a different clinic and it's just as fast as if you were at your regular clinic. Thank you so much, Aegis Simi Valley!!! I highly recommend this clinic.

This place is honestly a life saver. Everyone there is awesome from Dr. Harris to Angelica to Stephanie and the front desk, this place really cares about you and makes you feel like a person and not just a recovering… addict.

The staff is rude

It’s a good clinic you will get maintenance there , as long as you don’t give too many “ Dirties” you will be straight!

Rude- especially those people at the front desk. Certainly don’t apply the AA principles. Unkind!

Don’t go to this clinic. They put you on methadone and don’t care how long your on it. They are no help at all and it’s very frustrating!

Saved my life! Been clean over 3 years and run 2 groups at the clinic. I used to have a horrible perception of methadone, said I'd never touch it.. Then I spoke with the doctors and really learned about how it works and… the tapering process. This is the only clinic in the area that makes you do counseling once a week and attend groups. It's not a juice bar!! One of the best decisions I've ever made!!!!!

A wonderful place to be. Great people at the Simi Valley location .Everyone that I have worked with from my counselor to the supervisors, managers and the professionals who work the front desk are so very nice and… understand what addiction can do to a person's life and those around us. When I made the decision to get sober I researched many places from Passages to basic clinics. None of them were worth or had the right plan to save me except for the experts at Aegis. Everyone that I have had the pleasure of working with at Aegis has had a part in saving my life. I would mention names on those that really stood out in my sobriety, however, confidentiality is a huge part of the way Aegis professionals conduct their business and duties. Which was great for me as there are only 2-3 people outside of Aegis that I consider are ok to know about my plans of a life that serves my mind, body and soul. If it were not for Aegis and the great individuals there I would be in the hospital dying from some sort of liver disease. I waited so long to get myself on the wagon that my liver was starting to show signs of early stage liver disease. Aegis helped me turn that around. I do have fatty liver disease which was diagnosed way before my decision to stop looking for more pills and just take that small leap into a sober living state .My mind is still a mess however my Aegis Counselor and everyone else are my largest group of advocates into ensuring I am receiving what I need to move me to the next stages in a sober life. I know I have repeated myself on this review in several instances. I truly cannot say enough good things about them without sounding fake. I have a straight shooter type of attitude. I have only experienced those at the Simi Valley Aegis location. Please if you are sick and tired of looking for your drug of choice and the side effects that come with not having it. If you are worried at all of overdosing and lying dead on the floor for someone you love to find you please SEEK THE HELP OF AN AEGIS OFFICE NEAR YOU. Also if you feel you may have overdosed and a friend is with you first go to your local ER or call 911.When your life is saved get to you local Aegis office right away. They also offer free Arkan kits free. The local pharmacy charges in the range of $150 per kit. So keep that in mind as well . Regardless of what stage you are in .Just tell yourself you need help and as you would go to your local dealer make the RIGHT turn to Aegis for help. I'm telling you it works at any age. It's a very tough decision I know but once you ready get your life over to Aegis. Now that I have taken you through my boring story. If you are an addict who wants to be saved. Call Aegis and start getting better, happier and build back relationships lost during the running along side the wagon. Get on the wagon and rest to work on yourself. This place quite literally might have saved my life! If you feel like you’re at the end of the rope with your addiction there are a lot of caring, understanding, and helpful people here to help.

I started at this place in October of 2018. And it’s the last thing I tried but it saved my life! The staff here really cares about their patients. I’d recommend it to anyone with a heroin problem. 100%

I been going here a while now and i have never had a complaint the staff is always understanding to any situation i feel the staff nd counslers really seem dedicated to getting all the patients on the right path n give… us all the tools for life after the clinicnever have i had a negative comment for the simi valley aegis treatment center and id reccomnd thos place to everyone battiling opioid addiction.

All the staff and counselors are friendly , my counselor Myra is The Best , I have no complaints

Okay, I’m changing my review from 3 stars to one, Jesus CHRIST!!! I just learned my FOURTH counselor in less than 6 months is leaving for a better job, & it’s driving me NUTS!! Aegis pays staff so poorly compared to the… industry standard they clearly can’t get most to stay. The reason this is so very irritating to me is the simple fact EVERY damn time I change counselors (whom u are forced to see for an hour EVERY week, NO exceptions!) I have to explain to them my background & relive my entire path of addiction again & again & again, & it triggers long ago buried urges & purposefully forgotten memories of using & withdrawal, plus it truly sux constantly building working relationships that keep getting torn up. This blowz....

The primary doctor at this location meets with all new patients (unfortunately) but you can request anyone else once you are registered but that doesn’t excuse the insults and ridicule that he hands down to you as if… this type of psychology ever worked for recovery. Similar to a family member who physically abuses another member with the hopes that some good comes from it. Comments like, “how does your spouse stay with an addict, she should be smarter than that”. This is no exaggeration either. You can talk to anyone there during the meetings and everyone has some horror story with this guy. You’ll know him, he has an accent and a glass is half empty type attitude. What’s most unfortunate is anyone coming to a rehab facility for the first time is not in the highest of confidence/mood and to be kicked while down is, besides cowardly, doesn’t give off the basic confidence you’d hope to receive while you’re asking for help. Most everyone else here does have your best interest at heart, please understand. He does not speak for anyone else here. It’s just too bad they can’t purged this cancer of a human being so the rest of the faculty can do their jobs.

Started just over a month ago, I wish I would have found this place a lot sooner! I wouldn't have thrown away so much precious time, energy, trust, money and dearest friendships. Thank you Aegis!

Honestly this Clinic is a great place if you truly want help. Yea it can be looked at like trading one thing for another. But its all monitored in every way. I do think though they should kick someone out after a few… dirty tests and not let someone just keep taking the Medicine as well as using.... With that said this clinic did help me get away from a drug that ruins everything in A life quickly, and helped me get on track! My Councilors were a huge part in that as well! I really wish I could still go to counciling with my last Councilor she was great! You get what you put in, in everything in life! My purpose in coming to this clinic was fullfilled and Im thankfull for everyone there that helped in my Process!
