Slowest hospital I’ve been to. Sit for hours waiting for treatment and no one comes to check on you.
DO NOT GO HERE. Both times I have gone with serious illness and they did not help me at all. Terrible communication and treatment of patient. Test results were supposed to come back in 3 days, and they did not, when I… had a serious condition. I called to inquire about the status of the results and was rerouted multiple times, then at the end I was told that they had no idea what had happened with the results. Thank God for WellNow, otherwise I would have been toast. I REPEAT: DO NOT GO HERE.
I had an appointment scheduled (2pm) and I drove one hour to it. When I came in, I was told that my appointment has passed an hour ago. Scheduling team never called me to let me know. How can you be unprofessional, I… don’t understand!!
my shoulder replacement is healing very nicely, thanks to Dr. Anderson Dr. Anderson‘s physicians assistants are all very good
A few days ago I was treated for a bad cyclic vomiting episode at Cayuga Medical. I have to say I did not go in with very high expectations because I went in for the same diagnosis last year and felt extremely neglected… by the Triage staff, spending over 8 hours in the waiting room( over and hour with an empty IV). However everything went smoothly this time. The staff were extremely kind and efficient. We were able to find a kind nurse(Angela) who hooked me up to a IV within a hour of me being there and was extremely considerate with her care. Ian a great doctor that helped get to the bottom of my situation and get me the proper medication to take with me since I’m traveling away from home. I would like to give a big shout out to these staff and a huge thanks to the ER for being so supportive!
The doctor was receptive to listening to what had happened to my health recently.
The automated system has given me and my husband a lot of misinformation about appointments -- wrong place, wrong date, failed to tell me of a cancellation.
Check in was smooth. The medical staff spent time to address my questions. The doctor really cared because he chose more gentle procedures to diagnose. After determining that my condition was normal, he left out the… further procedure and the staff explained to me that such a procedure can do more harm than good. I am grateful for the doctor's expertise and commitment to looking out for patients.
Sleep study went OK. Staff was very good. Biggest issue, it's been 2 weeks. No results or contact from them, so hard to leave a complete review.
Went to the hospital due to mental health reasons, the psychiatric staff were insincere and incredibly unhelpful. After expressing thoughts of not wanting to be here they discharged me and told me to just see a… therapist, I spent 5 hours waiting. I am at a loss of words and feel hopeless. This is the worst hospital I have ever seen.
I don't know what event you are referring to, but I am always treated very well at CMC.
Very dirty hospital. Terrible cleaning overall. Bathrooms and patient rooms dirty. I honestly have not seen any hospital in this poor a condition. The building needs a renovation, definitely, but to not have proper… cleaning is horrific. Dusty with debris throughout, build up in every corner and edge with soils/grime. The good news is that the nursing staff seemed very professional and caring, and the only reason I gave it 2 stars vs 1. Even the front entrance piano was thick with dust on top. This hospital is an embarrassment from a cleaning standpoint.
I came in with a 104 fever to the ER, had some pre conditioned heart issues as well. Got in line, about 10 minutes of waiting was brought into a room where extensive tests were conducted. After figuring out the problem,… I stayed within the ER until I reached safe levels, then transferred into the main hospital for one night. The staff were attentive and very kind, they listened to my concerns and worked with my primary doctors and cardiologists from other hospitals. The ER nurses were incredibly kind and friendly. Overall extremely happy with my experience with Cayuga Medical Center.
Had a back surgery in April, was told if I had a reaction to anesthetic id be staying the night , I woke up from surgery and immediately started puking , the recovery nurse tried shoving zofran in my mouth while puking… , my wife went to the bathroom for a minute and by the time she was back they were putting me in a wheel chair and shoving me out the door while I was still actively puking and having reactions to the anesthetic, this is one of a long list of issues ive had with cayuga medical center and one of many reasons to not go to this hospital unless you are already dead and have no choice in where they take you, even then id be secptical . I swear if my life is in danger I would sooner die with dignity in a ditch rather than go to this abomination of a hospital
This it's the worst emergency room i ever been, i have been here for 6 hours crying and crying waiting in the waiting room with a high risk pregnancy with a terrible pain and they don't care i go to triage couple times… crying and they don't Say anything i'm the only one in the waiting room waiting for be seeing. I don't come back yo here doesnt matter what.
Walked into the ER due to a suspected TIA. I was assessed quickly and moved into the ER. I was definitely treated as if my condition was a priority. All my interactions with doctors, nurses, and even with BOCES trainees… were done personally and professionally.
Most of the nurses in the psych unit I was in are very nice, however one needs to be moved to a different department or a serious retraining of how to interact with parients. I was freshly 18yrs old in there for some… serious shit and she demeaned me and another patient for crying about missing our dogs, telling me to "just get discharged" when I was there for a reason and literally could not leave. Deserves whatever the opposite of a daisy award is. Idk she was very rude the entire 2 weeks I was there. young but middle-aged looking brunette with a fake tan.
