Checkin to see if yall cleaned up that mess of a place I don’t know how on Gods green earth your doors aren’t permanently locked. This is a disaster and a lawsuit waiting to happen and never again will I let my family… members step foot into that danger zone I think you ought to be ashamed of yourselves for not having more safety protocols in place gosh damnit you need to take better care of your people there too and the patients shame on all of you I’ve never seen anything like it in my entire 68 years do better for crying out loud

One of the behavioral techs would turn on the lights to wake people up in the morning. The charge nurse told me she mentioned it to management and they obviously didn’t do anything. There is no standard of… professionalism here. I literally sat there while this other patient with an ankle monitor had his morning intake and he told the nurse he was having homicidal thoughts, she just wrote it down and walked away from us. One would think it’s a potential safety risk to just have a violent offender chilling feet away from a bunch of self-destructive teenage girls and middle aged drug addicts, but none of those highly educated professionals entrusted with the lives of our most vulnerable community members seemed to care. I remember one of the techs scolding a group of us like children because they were trying to focus on clerical work and I guess the group was talking too loudly. We were allowed to watch a movie where a character hangs himself, but another show got turned off because there were some women with bikinis. If you literally have nowhere else to go, it’s better than prison or the ground I guess? They do let you have a supervised daily walk outside but you have to remain inpatient for 30 days lol.

Had a family member work there the back stabbing and DON does nothing to stop it. They think they are still in middle school with juicy gossip. They only care about the money coming in . They almost killed my brother… Danny Wilson. He was a dementia patient that an Rn force fed has him 10 years ago. please Don't bring your family and loved ones there. You will regret it..I kept proof from the other hospital that took them over 3 hours to get food out of his throat, etc. He was in a coma for two months from oxygen loss. So don't come back and say this never happened. Dr. Livic is doctor now so,but she should have more control over who takes care of patients. The reason why I say that gossip like high schoolers is they talk loud enough so we can hear them.

Now doggone it I’ve seen firsthand how poorly things are run at this place called Osage Beach Behavioral Health. The way them staff talk to patients and to each other is horrific . There’s barely any compassion, and the… folks who need the most help get treated like a burden. If I wanted that I would’ve just stayed at home. Staff are always frazzled because they don’t know what to do with themselves and sounds like a complete disaster to me. By the way those management people don’t help them folks and that ain’t right shame on them. Thought this was supposed to be a therapeutic environment for healing instead it’s a mess that would take the miraculous hand of God to fix. That’s all I got. You get one star from me and I hope you do better for all us patients and your poor staff struggling. Thank you

This place is the perfect example of what gives mental health facilities a bad name. Did not give our family member their basic rights such as offering the release of information forms right off the bat so that the… family members can communicate. This should be done because some people are young and don't know what these are or what to ask for. They do not explain the paperwork thoroughly and this is important because of the state of mind that some people may come in experiencing. Also Even if you are voluntarily there trying to get help, and they decide they want to keep you and you leave then they will not allow you to call anybody to help you. They will just throw you out on the street and tell you to walk to the nearest gas station which is a half a mile away. At this point hopefully you brought your phone with you so you have your contacts and you can get a hold of somebody. If not, hopefully you remember somebody's number so maybe the gas station will let you call. Pray also you have shoes and a coat with you because they will not care if you do or if you don't. Also it's not like these people are leaving as a danger to themselves others because then they wouldn't even let them leave. So it seems a clear punishment for not doing what they want. The way they talk to people and the way they treat people violates basic human dignity and promotion of self determination.

I was a volunteer admission for ten days from the end of December 2022 to the beginning of January 2023. I had never been so broken when I arrived there. My greatest fear was that I would never feel any better than I… did then. This place and its staff gave me my life back. I could never say enough about how wonderful this place is. I am forever grateful to every staff member that I interacted with. All I can say is Thank You. I will never forget what you have done for me.

The psychiatrist is a joke. She wants to over prescribe and that's it. Told them I wanted to leave after 7 days of giving all meds a try and participating in all groups and doing my best to get help for myself to be… told I quote,if you leave here you will be given a against medical discharge and then you will have to pay the entire bill myself outside of my insurance. I could not stay any longer as I was dehydrated from all the different meds and I left there throwing up plus having diarrhea. No way I should have been given the meds I was giving being I told them I had a genealogy test done and that there where several that didn't work for me. She didn't even care to have my records from my primary care faxed. Just don't go there is all I can say. This place is also filthy. So I am home and sick as heck 😭 Do not go into this facility whatsoever. No telling what you will leave with,I don't need a bunch of pills ,I need someone to help me understand my illness. Maybe take time to communicate with my primary care and find out all info needed before prescribing liteum, gabapentin, saraqueal,ect....

Wow! Wow! Not a place for anyone to be. Instead of helping, they hurt my Son badly. He is still traumatized for being at this facility.

From the start the staff were very unpleasant to deal with. Rude, unprofessional, I’m better than you attitude. The staff showed large lack of compassion, empathy or sympathy for anyone around that I observed. The… social workers didn’t seem to care for safty, was treated very poorly and was told certain medication was the only option when there were many options, (years working in a pharmacy I would know). Grievance process is refused if needed…. Save your loved ones the trama and look for an organization that actually wants to help there patients not make things worse… don’t just take my word …. Look at all reviews of this place…

0 stars if I could. I was involuntarily admitted a couple years ago. I was there for 2 weeks and wasn’t allowed a single phone call despite the patients rights plaque hung on the wall stating I was allowed at least one… call to notify my family I was being admitted. They had no idea. I was also made wear my OCPs for 24 hrs a day, for two weeks and was told I couldn’t take them off to have them cleaned. Very dehumanizing, and staff allowed fights to break out, and were over all very unfriendly.

This place is a joke. As an admit you are required to sign a ton of documents that one isn't coherent enough to understand. Some of the nursing staff are very nice but most of the people who work here just want to drag… out as much as they can from your insurance in order to remain open and pay salaries. When staying there they threaten you with holds, they don't communicate at all regarding the process. They just put you with a ton of members, no introductions just thrown in the mess. The groups were ok but they also treat every person as if they have the same issue at hand when indeed that's not the case. Also, they discuss everything about patients out in the open, there is no discretion regarding patient info and I'm indeed positive that HIPAA laws were violated. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They will try to intimidate you and also try to change your diagnosis without consulting with the patients primary physician. *** The only positive thing I received from this place was being fed and the relationships I formed while I was stuck here.

I am pretty much just parroting other reviews for this place. Inconsistent policy on piercings. Lots of playing favorites among some of the staff. My biggest problem with this place however is that they baited me along… and wouldn't give me a release date after a week. Ended up checking out AMA and having to walk to the Casey's down the highway to call my ride. Sorry but i would not recommend this place.

My review is for March of 2021. Most of the staff were caring and helpful. There were, of course, a few bad eggs. I developed a sinus infection while in-residence, and the doctor made me wait nearly fourteen hours… before she finally checked me. By then I had developed fever and sinus pain. Not being allowed to go outside was very frustrating. It increased my anxiety. Food was good. Place provided a reset for me. Edit- I've been leaving messages since Monday, asking for my medical records because I need to send them to the federal government. I also sent an email request. They can monitor their reviews, but can't provide me with my own information? I'd really like a human to answer a phone there.

Some things really need to be changed at this facility. Medication mixups, desk staff talks openly about other patients in front of everyone, most staff were passive aggressive or rude, personal laundry goes missing… daily. You’re not allowed to go outside, which really affects people’s moods. The windows are darkened so that you can’t even see sunlight. Staff talks loudly all night, making it even harder to sleep. They will not allow anyone to leave voluntarily, even when you have voluntarily committed yourself. They threaten you with going to get a court order to keep you for 86 hours, no matter why you are there and what state you are in. I’m pretty positive this is so that they can bill you for the full week. 11/23 Edited since time has passed and I feel like I can be a little more open now. I was at this facility for suicidal ideations. I did not get a single one on one therapy session the entire 7 days I was there. I just kept getting told “soon.” It never happened. The entire time I was there, I felt like I was having an anxiety attack that I had to hide or they wouldn’t let me leave at the 7 day mark. Without a single therapy session, they thought they could go ahead and diagnose me and medicate me. Which happened to many of the people I talked to inside. Almost a year has passed and I still have nightmares that I’ve returned to this place. The only good thing I got out of this place was the friendships I made. I’m sure this place works well for others, but it was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made for myself.

Came to Osage earlier this year from Fort Leonard Wood involuntarily. I was there for 2 weeks and was not allowed to change out of my military uniform the entire time I was there, and they only let me take it off to… wash it one time. 24 hrs a day, for 14 days I wore my OCPs. It states in the patients rights in a frame on the wall that all patients are entitled to a phone call to let their family know they have been admitted. But because I was in the military they decided I was not entitled to any phone calls at all, and refused to call for me to notify my family.
