My family has been so blessed by this support center! When we first arrived in this city, we felt alone, but here we found a new family and amazing friends. They have helped us become part of the community and feel… accepted. We have participated in many activities that I highly recommend to everyone, such as: Nutrition classes. The kindergarten class on Tuesdays. The baby group on Fridays. Throughout my last pregnancy, I attended the Healthy Baby Outcomes group every Thursday. Parent Café every month. The block party... A thousand events throughout the year!!! Plus, this Christmas my whole family was "adopted" to receive gifts! Words cannot express my gratitude to everyone who works at CHS. They truly support and guide you in everything you need that is within their reach, or they refer you to where you can get it. They have helped me become a better person and a better mother. God bless you always. We love you. The Orozco Calvillo Family
I personally had a terrible experience at this place. The staff there treat people badly, making them feel awful. They're not kind at all, and they're supposed to be there to help, but they do the exact opposite. I… enrolled my son there to receive Christmas presents, and when they called me to pick them up, they refused to give them to me. It was like they were mocking me because they just showed them to me and snatched them right in front of me. They told me they wouldn't give them to me because I had already enrolled my son somewhere else, but I didn't know I couldn't enroll my son in two places. They made me understand in such a shameful and humiliating way, snatching the presents from me like that in front of everyone there. They made me feel terrible and embarrassed in front of everyone else. I don't understand why they didn't explain it to me in a less shameful way. Why did they have to do that? It doesn't cost these women anything because they aren't the ones buying the children's gifts. They don't spend a single penny of their own money, so why should they treat people who come to ask for help this way? They just work there, and that's what they're paid for—to serve people, but to serve them well, not like they do. That's why they shouldn't treat us like this. And they didn't just do it to me; they also took the gifts from other people I know, just like they did to me, and didn't give them back. The people who are in charge of this kind and noble gesture are good people who like to help others, which is greatly appreciated. Well, the women who work in this place are very different. They don't deserve to work in a place like this. If they don't like treating people well, they shouldn't work there; they should resign. It would be the best thing for the people who come to ask for help; they would be doing us a great favor. Because these ladies have no tact when dealing with people, and those who go there go hoping to be treated kindly.
